For AngryJoe, an average game is a 5 or a 6. That's the way it should be. Reviewers need a wider range so we can get a better idea of where they're coming from.
I disagree. Scoring is more useful than alternative systems and keeps things concise, simple and aggregatable. I'm not going to read 90+ reviews. Having a fairly accurate way to get the average critic's opinion is not something the vast majority of people want to get rid of. Barely anyone actually likes alternative systems (usually tacky and awkward) and only a few reviewers like ACG have managed to get any traction with them. That being said, I can't stand systems like "Buy,...
The COD games usually safely sell over 20m though. That's a huge audience that may stray from Fortnite.
No.
I think doing a remaster or remake would help a new team get to grips with the franchise a bit though. It probably helped the Darksiders team.
Don't mind wonderfulmonkeyman. He's probably the worst fanboy on this site and he has some stiff competition.
It gets some hate from time to time but Jak 2 was so damn good. It still plays and feels great and as the article says it was really challenging at times. I played Jak 2 and 3 before the original so I get why people would be pissed if they expected more of the same but I honestly think they're better games.
I noticed that error in the writing as well. The quote from the THQ Nordic representative is clear though. At least IGN got the title right.
It has been 6 and a half years since Reckoning's release but its sequel will most likely release close to a decade later. It feels like a good time for a remaster or remake so hopefully EA allow this to go forward.
Insanely pissed off right now.
Is there anyway to get the article removed or have a spoiler warning put in the title? I was really looking forward to this game and it's already been spoiled (saw it while I was scrolling - can't be unseen).
EDIT: To any contributors reading this, please request that a spoiler warning preface the title.
This article should be removed from N4G. Thanks for spoiling the game before many of us even had a chance to pick it up, pricks.
What are you talking about? I could understand if you were referring to Dice's current conduct but what the hell did Eidos do? Tbh, this game seems unafraid to actually address Lara's questionable behaviour and psyche unlike previous entries. What aspect of this game is "SJW"?
A good Dragon Age game having learnt crucial lessons from The Witcher 3 would probably sell very well.
I suppose he's probably talking about AAA games.
Definitely Bioware. Dice's games casually sell a lot even if they haven't been meeting expectations lately. The projected sales for Anthem are 5.5m copies. EA ruined Dead Space 3 with the intention of trying to get it to sell 5m+ copies so Bioware are in a lot more danger. There's are much smaller margin of error as far as EA is concerned.
I wouldn't say it's a great Battlefield game for a number of reasons:
- It's too infantry-based. Vehicles are much less of a factor which is odd considering the importance of Blitzkrieg in WW2. Vehicles seem to respawn quite rarely as well.
- The maps are at lot smaller (dumbed down) and yet it somehow doesn't feel like 32 V 32.
- The spawning system (the die faster/die slower system) is atrocious and really ruins the game. Why did they change it ...
It shouldn't be up to the developer nor should it be their responsibility. It should be system-wide like it is on PS4 and XB1. End of.
Raids tens of tombs. Kills hundreds of enemies. "Now, witness Lara become the Tomb Raider!" The naming scheme of their games completely contradicts their marketing as well. How can you call a game Rise of the Tomb Raider and then insist that she hasn't yet become the Tomb Raider? Or better yet, how can you call a game Tomb Raider and do the same thing?
AngryJoe's reviews for games are usually right on the money. Many game critics are very poor at recognizing critical flaws with games (particularly FPSs). Watch Dogs 1 has 80 on Metacritic and that game is soulless, lacks any personality, comes with poor open world and an awful story. Ironically, game reviewers are less likely than the average hardcore gamer to take a deep look at the games that they are playing. This even applies to nuisances like how social issues and attitudes are addr...
