True. I haven't played the open beta (haven't had time) just yet so I'm not sure how your rank ties to the progression system but you're probably right. Unlocking any items via a mode where you can't select them would be odd though.

I guessed this a few weeks ago but now we know. Criterion certainly know how to make fun games so hopefully this works out for them. This quote is particularly interesting: "Securing objectives will grant better and rare gear, and matches are tied to Company and Battlefield 5 progression." There were rumours that this BR mode could go free-to-play so the fact that it's already entrenched in the game's existing progression system would certainly complicate things if true.

@madmoose

Your comment is complete garbage. The downplaying in your first paragraph is "juvenile & immature" and intentionally misses the point. PS4 owners don't have disdain for indies. Please, grow a pair. Acknowledging that a platform with a lot of high profile AAA games could create a tough situation for indies (smaller games with little to no marketing by comparison) is just common sense. PS4 owners still appreciate indie games. The next 6 months is a...

To be fair, Brotherhood was better than AC2 but Revelations wasn't. I understand that it wasn't that innovative though.

Not really. The PS4 was never in the state that the Switch is in. There was never a situation where most current gen AAA games weren't coming to the PS4. Most of the big games this year and next year have not and are not coming to the Switch. That creates a void that indies and ports of old games can fill.

Switch owners are starving for games and indies are more than happy to fill the void. Almost no high profile games have come to the Switch this year, whereas loads of them are competing for people's attention on PS4. It's naturally a tougher environment for indies.

When games like GOW, Far Cry 5, Monster Hunter World, Detroit: Become Human, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, A Way Out, Shadow Of the Colossus, Dark Souls Remastered, Ni no Kuni 2, etc were releasing on PS4, ...

"FIFA on switch outsold ps4 version in Japan". Why does that even matter? If FIFA on PS4 conservatively sold 10 times more than the Switch version, who cares if the Switch version sold better in one region where the franchise doesn't even perform that well in the first place?

I'm more interested in the game's framerate than the size of the map or anything else. I found JC3 to actually be unplayable. You blow up a gas station and Rico looks like he's moving in slow motion. It was disgraceful and a real shame considering it was a decent game. The wing-suit was incredible but whenever I blew anything up, the game went to shit.

PS Plus was worse in August, it's far better in September and overall has been significantly better this year. I think the competition between Sony and MS here has really benefited consumers though. It's risky to organise a mediocre offering when you know that the other side can show you up.

@uptownsoul

It's just the vernacular. You're being way too pedantic. My younger brother only plays PC and uses the same argument that you're using all the time due to his grudge against consoles. "It's not free!" He has no issue referring to calls and texts on his current mobile plan as "FREE" though and begrudges me for pointing this out. It's just the way that normal people speak, guys. Calm down.

Honestly, it'...

I praised GWG last month. It's incredibly mediocre this month. I'm being fair guys. Now, lets see how PS Plus holds up (overall, it has been better this year but it was worse last month).

"Spiderman PS4 is all about graphics, cutscenes, generic open world crap and quick-time events. This is a terrible game but those who don't care about gameplay and love story will appreciate it!!!"

Get prepared for fanboys to copy and paste that nonsense everywhere. They desperately don't want this to be a good game.

There's no Assassin's Creed next year so you'll have a lot of time to play Odyssey or you could just wait a while and pick it up at a discounted price. As you said, you're still playing Origins.

She has been such a bland, poorly written character throughout this trilogy. Despite Lara's terrible actions, trauma and mistakes, Rhianna Pratchett ALWAYS presented her to the audience as unequivocally being an incredible hero. No grey morality or questions about her character were allowed. We were not allowed to doubt her. She basically killed a shit load of shipwrecked, mentally ill civilians in a concentration camp in the first game with pools of blood so deep that you could drown in ...

You're full of crap. For your information, R&C isn't a remaster. It's a different game with a different story. It was basically a reboot of the franchise. Way more work obviously went into it than the Nintendo remasters that you just mentioned. That's not an insult to those remasters - it's just a fact that more employees and time was required to make it. There's likely no code from the original game even in it besides possibly the e...

Its pre-orders are 85% behind Black Ops 4. A game's pre-orders, relative to other games' pre-orders, are a good indication of a game's overall performance. It's not that complicated. BF1 pre-orders slightly outpaced Infinite Warfare and the game almost sold as much as IW. That was just 2 years ago.

To be fair, the mode requires a lot of resources and active players to function properly. It could take away from the classic Battlefield modes.

I played a decent amount of Warframe (although the Warframe community would swear that you have to play the game for over 200 hours to claim that or to be permitted an opinion). Not my thing. Most of the content in the first few hours is the same mediocre missions from when the game originally launched. They've built content exclusively for people who've played the game for hundreds of hours with no regard for new players. I can't be bothered to play a game for 25+ hours for it to...
