With Bandicoot and Wipout returning this month I really couldn't be happier.......now if the would just remaster SSX Tricky and Demon Souls my dream would be complete.

Having watched a bunch of videos I think they have done a superb job, it's faithful to the originals while still looking and sounding like a modern game, cannot wait for this....my next 3 platinum trophies for sure.

This is how Last of Us could have looked if Unreal4 existed when it was made and you didn't need to use available memory for AI routines, animation, animated character models, sound, music etc.

Honestly, the visuals in this mockup are great but that's missing the point, a game is much more than a mock up of a small area.

Would love to try a Monster Hunter title, this would be huge if it there is any truth in it.

Pretty telling that most of these titles date back to 3 or 4 years ago, that list was like the sum of all of the exclusives over the life of xb1. Pretty shabby if you are bored of Halo, Gears and Forza. Ori is still my fave xb1 game, utterly brilliant title.

The difference is, Sony isn't focused solely on pushing the Pro, in fact, all messaging was that it is very much a niche product aimed at the enthusiast who has a 4K TV. Microsoft however, have done nothing but hype the Scorpio and have barely mentioned anything exciting as far as new games for the console they already sold to 25 million people, the vibe is very much 'we dropped the ball with XB1 so buy this instead'.

I want games for XB1, not a new Xbox conso...

Just had an email from Steam saying this had been reduced to 25 quid in a sale, I am sorely tempted to wait for the PS4 version now as that is my preferred place to play....I guess it's going to all about how the controls have been implemented.

It's great that they have not altered the game play in any way, I have never felt that console gamers want simplified versions of these kinds of games, they just want versions that control well.

Can't help but notice the lack of excitement around the XB1, it seems like all eyes are on Scorpio to me. The problem with this in my mind is yet another instance of MS prematurly taking their foot off the gas with a console 25 million, including myself, have already bought. It's all about bragging rights that in effect, mean absolutely nothing.

All we hear is 'Scorpio this.....more powerful that.....best version this.......better experience that', how abo...

It's a heck of a looker for sure, but Horizon was incredible not just on a technical level, but in respect of art style and design too. Then there is Uncharted 4 of course, for me, the ultimate in facial animation and voice work so far this generation.

I really do like Injustice's artstyle although, not being a comic book guy, I don't know is the character design is faithful to the comics or whether the designs are of Nether Realms efforts, either way, the char...

The problem for me is visibility, just like steam before it, PS Store is getting flooded with games of wildly differing quality with the result that even if your indie game is great, getting it noticed is getting increasingly difficult. While it would be difficult to sell as consumer or developer friendly, I think Sony should implement some kind of limits on the games being added to the store because, without cultivation, the store is going to be swamped with mediocre games making visibility...

As someone who works in Trade Marks, I can tell you that renewing a trademark in these situations happens in every industry, particularly where a mark was previously very important to the holder of that mark. Microsoft would not want to lose face to any a 3rd party if that 3rd party were to file a fresh application for Scalebound.

One thing to note however, is that in most countries, a party could file for revocation through non use if MS were to sit on the Scalebound mark...

I found this quite an interesting read personally. For my part, I definately perceive myself as a Playstation fan above any of the other manufacturers and before Playstation I was a devout Commodore fan.

I also don't see brand loyalty as a negative concept, my love of Playstation isn't arbitrary, it was earned by Sony over 20+ years. I bought my PS1 after playing Destruction Derby in a games store in my early 20's and after that, I experienced one incredible ti...

I loved the PS3, still sat next to my PS4 because I have a huge collection that I love to dip back into. Currently thinking of revisiting Shadows of the Damned, a game i really enjoyed, I need a couple of trophies and I will get the platinum.

Alternatively, it could lead to other studios not exploring that setting because it's impossible to compete with such a fantastic game (assuming RDR2 is as good as RDR). It's almost inevitable that comparisons would be made if another 'western' game were to hit the market.

Moreover, I am not sure that 'western' games have ever been considered so popular that they can be revived, it's not like there has ever been a glut of games set in this peri...

@pleb

I know what the point of this piece was, I read it too. My point is, the story in FF5 was not there in any capacity, I personally don't believe that the story was hidden and there if you looked hard enough. Just my personal experience though squire, I guess the writer of the article is better at picking out obfuscated story beats than I am.

I know its an odd thing when there were so many other great things in this game, but I loved the different skies, the lighting in that game was really epic...some of the best sky boxes in video games.

I am not so sure that it was underrated to be honest, it did well critically but for what ever reason people didn't buy it in the quantity it probably deserved.

I enjoyed my time with it but I felt it got a bit repetitive towards the end of my playthrough although, I was gathering every collectible (I have a weird video game OCD thing where i have to collect all the icons on a map :D)

I can appreciate what you are saying but for me, it was the fact that you have to invest so much effort to get the most out of the story that drove me to explore every nook and cranny, to analyse every piece of dialog and item description....I just found that story telling so different and interesting.

I love the different interpretations you come across in the community.

I was just about to post the exact same thing, of all the titles ought there with great stories it's odd that the author chose those two. In particular, FF15, I didn't know what was going on half the time and the other half I didn't care. I don't think it was a case of the story being somehow obfuscated like the Souls games, it was that the stories were simply weak and the lore uninteresting in FF15.

I do however, agree with the sentiment in the article, t...

There is only one reviewer I trust, that's myself. I have disliked plenty of well received games and enjoyed plenty of poorly received games over the years. I didn't like The Witcher 3 all that much for example, but really enjoyed games like Evil Within, The Order and Thief.

I tend to watch some game play videos and if it looks like my bag, I will buy it, I don't need validation from someone who more often than not, operates from a Mickey mouse website and be...

Exclusives are why I love the Playstation and Nintendo brands, it's what makes their consoles special to me. I have to agree though, 3rd party timed exclusive deals or exclusive content are a cancer to the industry, they merely penalise a section of the community for owning the wrong device and I think that is seriously uncool.
