Fair enough squire, apologies for sounding like a dick, enjoy the rest of your weekend fella.
Agreed, the medium continues to advance in my opinion and as a result, advances is storytelling, production values and gameplay push the boundaries of what is possible. Games are better now than they have ever been, as much as I love PS2, the games on PS3 were better and more advanced when you consider the likes of Bioshick, Uncharted or The Last of Us for example.
Now, with the likes of Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Horizon, Breath of the Wild and God of War, games continue to...
Agreed, to try and suggest MS have contributed to the growth of the medium in the same way as Sony and Nintendo is utter bunk. I think about just how many games I have played and am excited for in the future and MS have absolutely nothing.
You reap what you sow, MS stopped investing in games around 7 years ago and it shows, they a leagues behind the competition.
Why does it need a remaster before you will play it? The game is incredible as it is, you are missing out if the only thing stopping you is the amount of pixels on a screen.
I guess I have been lucky because I have had zero issues, game has been flawless on my Pro. Still, good to know SSM are on the ball and fixing issues as they arise.
I enjoyed a lot of their early stuff, but their unwillingness to improve their engine just put me off, I also feel like they over-saturated the market a little, releasing one similar title after another in quick succession.
Once Until Dawn was released I realised just how much potential the genre had and fell right off
Telltale' s games.
It's insane just how good modern games look, I think this game looks fabulous but I am not so sure about the tone of the game insofar as it seems like she is quite a ruthless killer this time around.
I disagree, it may be a tall order but its not impossible. Sony consoles enjoy quite a long tail on their sales where they continue to sell, even after the launch of the PS5, the PS4 will continue to sell especially in emerging territories like South America and Asia.
You have to figure they have another year or two of continued strong sales (so potentially another 25 million or more, especially with the quality of their 1st part games coming up) and then we will see the P...
If companies or individuals were unable to protect there investment with intellectual property rights, we would not see the advancement of technology, medicine etc that we currently take for granted.
Who knows how much investment was spent in developing the tools protected under those patent rights, why shouldn't they be entitled to profit from their investment.
If MS have infringed then they deserve to be held to account, you better believe that if t...
I think Nintendo always have and always will do their own thing. I feel like it's not in their genetic make-up to make games like GoW and I don't think that they necessarily want to make games that are similar, tonally, to God of War.
Nintendo make Nintendo style games and even as a 43 year old, I still adore their games and feel they offer a perfect counter balance to Sony's offerings.
If anyone needs a game of the quality and importance of ...
Whatculture really are garbage, all they do is create dubious top ten lists for hits, they are pathetic. I love to root for UK based media but not when it's as lame as these guys.
As for the article, it's utter nonsense and while backwards compatibility is nice, it really isn't as essential as MS fanatics would like us to believe. Let's look at this week in isolation for example, Sony are celebrating God of War while MS are trying to generate as much hype ...
Funny how all these 'historians' that use emulators only seek to preserve popular or their favourite games rather than obscure titles or indeed, whole catalogues.....its......its almost like they just want free games, I didn't realise there were altruistic reasons behind their behaviour, I have been such a fool.
Perhaps I am wrong about pirates too, perhaps they really were all were just using piracy to try games before going and buying legit copies after all. ...
I am as pleased for Barlog and Santa Monica as everyone else and I find it very heartwarming and touching to see the effect the reception to God of War has had on the studio however, I don't think those emotions are exclusive to these developers.
I am sure there are many developers in the industry who care just as much about their projects as Barlog, and I am sure they are just as committed and work just as hard.
I feel like there has been a change ov...
I buy all my games new (3ish games a month), usually on the day of release, but I realise I am lucky to be in a position to do so. I also keep everything I buy, I adore this medium, it is how I choose to lend my spare time and disposable income so I feel it is important to support the industry, especially companies and developers I care about.
I have never, ever, met someone who uses emulation who gave a damn about preservation. Now I am not suggesting that those people d...
Utter bollocks squire, emulation us about free stuff, you must think the community is stupid if you think we believe that the millions upon millions of PC games who use emulation are historians.
If you want to play those games, why don't you support the companies and people who made it possible and buy the platform and titles instead. Don't they deserve to be rewarded for their hard work, don't you want to contribute to ensure future support from Sony, SuckerPunch and Sony Santa Monica.
As someone who loved the How series, I personally think Ascension was a really good game and very under appreciated. You are right though fella, that soundtrack is fantastic 😀
If you claim to love this medium and aspire to become a respected voice in the community, here is a little pointer.......no matter how well written or valid your article might be, giving your piece a pure clickbait title immediately turns people off with the result that they will likely not even read what you have to say.
I think back to the way the America-centric games media turned on Sony for the first few years of last gen, they said and did a lot worse than this back then.
Any interest I had in this game evaporated a long time ago, personally, I think early access type development is a double edged sword.
While I might well have been interested in this title if it had seen a traditional development and release, all of the hype and excitement simply evaporated over the last year or two. Broadly speaking, games simply cannot maintain a buzz over these lengths of time, no matter how good they might be.
