2008? Where I live XP is already off the shelves. I guess it's a good business strategy though. Same thing they did with the xBox: offer no alternatives and force everyone who wants your product to upgrade.
Fortunately, I got a 'copy' before MS pulled support for it.
IMO, the "installed base is not big enough" argument doesn't really apply to these games (and any future ones), since they both probably won't be released until next year, and by that time the PS3 will have a very healthy installed base, comparable to what the 360 has right now - enough to support exclusives.
I think I'm looking forward to Versus just as much as the 'normal' one.
I can't really see it going multiplatform. To be honest, how many of S-E's games have ever been multiplat (other than FFXI)? They like to use the system's strengths, so I think we'll see it exclusive to either the PS3 or 360 - and in that case most likely PS3, just to be true to the majority of fans of the original.
BLUPRINT,
Lair is supporting Home Trophies, so I expect HS will have some incarnation of the.
And I really hope she's not dying too fast. God of War is a brilliant game, but ridiculously short at less than 10 hours. I want more gameplay than that for my $70.
Haha, a beautiful week-long feature by Gamepro on HS, and now some people are purposelly not going to visit their site, to spite them for doing this feature? Wow.
I, for one, enjoyed reading up on the game throughout the week, and am grateful to GP for doing it.
This game looks phenomenal. PSP is looking better and better these days.
It's like a soap opera in here.
Unfortunately there is no multiplayer... but Lair will be the first game to take advantage of Home and Trophies for online leaderboards :)
I can't believe the Wii-craze is still going on. I never thought it would last this long. Nintendo did it right with this one.
I've said it before... please give me the full game right off the bat. Don't jerk me around and give me part of a game when I am paying for the entire thing. I would rather developers pour everything they have into a game, release it, and then move on and work on future titles.
Understandably, expansions packs (ie. Shivering Isles) are excempted from my criticisms because they contribute to the campaign storyline, and add significantly to the overall experience of the game.
Though they may be right, his hardly seems like actual news:
"FFvXIII.net have come to the conclusion that it is not a FFXIII title, but an independant new Square Enix game."
I should make a website and start 'coming to conclusions' about games.
I'm confident that it's broken, or my computer is dumb.
That's odd. It still says 2 days - 1 day and 23 hours to be precise - for me.
The shortage is still going on? Consumers should just come to Canada if they need one :)
A $30-$50 drop would be pointless at this point. If the price was already lower, than maybe $50 would be substantial.... but from $600 to $550 would seem like no drop at all to the consumers. They might as well wait and drop it $100 when they get the chance. I think that'd garner a lot more positive attention.
This is old news. Any Sony-fan could tell you that the Wii was beating it in every department in sales, whether they like to believe it or not. But the PS3 attach rate right now is 3.4, and steadily climbing. Not too bad, considering the fairly lackluster games available right now. Over the course of the year it should do very well though.
Sony is obviously trying to cut costs, and I don't blame them. Hopefully we can see a price drop soon on the 60GB model, though arguably (and unfortunately for Sony) it will still be way too expensive for the average gamer for another couple years, despite the big-name titles coming out for it.
Haha wow you put a lot of thought into that. I guess I agree with you though. At this moment, for very short games like GoW I wouldn't say Blu-Ray is a necessity. But for epics like Final Fantasy I wouldn't argue against the inclusion of Blu-Ray.
And plus, like it has been said, PS3 owners basically get a high-quality Blu-Ray player for $125. No arguments from me for that.
Just another case of the "this gen is so expensive so most third-party will be multiplat". Doesn't bother me though. Two Worlds sounds like it has a lot of promise. As a primarily 'RPG/Action-Adventure only' gamer, I'm happy to see the PS3 picking up another big name title.
