I agree. I'd match the best PC gamers to the best console anyday. I'm not too worried anyways about what the most adept gamers are using. Most of my multiplayer will be restricted to my group of friends.
I love Sony, I love the PS3, and Home/LittleBigPlanet sounds really cool... but I'm tired of reading the same articles about the same news. I'm ready for some new developments.
At least the format is getting out there. Getting people to buy into the format is the first step. Once Someone starts up a collection and is (hopefully) impressed by what they see, they'll continue to buy the titles.
I'm picturing God of War done similarly to 300. That would be greatness above all others.
A CGI video isn't rendered using the in-game engine. It's just a movie.
Bah JOLLY, beat me to it :P
I haven't played Jak, but I've played through all the R&C's a bunch of times, and they're phenomenal games.
Good to see Sony is finally selling a fair amount of consoles over there. The upcoming months should have a decent number of quality titles being released, so perhaps this is the start of an upward trend.
I'm a Sony supporter, but I'll be the first to say that it's unfortunate that every post is turned into a "my console is better than yours" rant by rabid fanboys (of both sides).
As far as I'm concerned - as long as they aren't too distracting - if a few in-game advertisements keep me from having to pay, I don't mind at all.
That looks really, really cool, and its great news for the PS3's online experience, though personally I don't think I'll be using it that much, or at least to the extent that they show you can. I will be using my PS3 to just play games I imagine, so maybe hop into 'Home', find some people for a multiplayer game, and hop out.
I really don't think the phrase "infinitely more exciting than anything on other consoles" was necessary either.
I was skeptical at first, but after reading that preview, I'd say this game will please a lot of people, and I don't even like war games :P. Sounds like a really engaging title so far, not to mention the seamless split-screen feature.
Blu-Ray definitely has the support to eventually win this war (however long into the future) but to dispute Universal's awesomeness is wrong. Even if the past year or so hasn't seen any real box offices amazements, their library is full of great titles *cough* Jurassic Park
I'm playing through the R&C series again right now, and they're some of my favourite games across all platforms. If those are in-game, I'll be very pleased. They look awesome. The various colourful worlds of the R&C universe should look simply awe-inspiring done in the hi-def treatment.
If prices are dropping this substanitlally on Blu-Ray players... from $1000-$299 in a year, why is Sony still saying they don't plan on lowering the PS3's price for 1-2 years? They obviously can.
If people really want the product, then yes? It's not unreasonable for people to pay more money for something they want.
Now what? Well once the ps3 owners get the full version of the game, they will tell you. These 'reviews' all consist essentially of a man's personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. Apparently some have more authority than others because they write on sites like this. I don't even bother with reviews. If I personally like a game, I'll grab it, and enjoy it, regardless of what anybody else says.
Maybe we'll see them have little babies together...
God of.. Heaven? Kratos with a big red pony tail :P
Doesn't necessarily have to be a direct sequel. KH3's console hasn't been announced, but this could be a game along the lines of 'KH: Chain of Memories' - that is, not really a direct numbered sequel, but still part of the overall KH universe.
I can't imagine Digital Distribution being commonplace for at least 15-20 years. I personally would never consider paying for a download - and know no one else who would do so - as opposed to getting a 'real' tangible copy (if the option is there of course, so this excludes download-only games/demos etc). I'd rather have a nice collection to display, and will never support the digital distribution of media. I'd feel ripped off, paying for something that isn't 'real', if that makes sense.
Haha I thought this too from the very first time I saw game footage. But I guess GoW is one of the best games ever released (in my opinion), and it is clear that the formula sells. I'm sure it will be slightly different. Not all FPS are the same, though you could use that same logic to claim that they are.
And both series are PS-exclusive, so Sony wins either way :P
I agree. This game was amazing. The removal of random encounters was the best decision they could have made, and it had one of the most in-depth, immersive stories the series has ever seen in my opinion (finally a game that didnt revolve around a relationship, S-E is growing up *tear*). I did not like the summon system, but that one hiccup aside, this game was phenomenal and the stated 5-years of development time was well worth it. I hope with future installments we continue to see innova...
