Haha, go Canada! This is the best offer I've seen yet for the PS3. I'm a proud 60 GB owner since launch, but this is a very enticing offer for new buyers, especially with the holidays coming up.
You obviously haven't been to Blockbuster in a long time, as there are no late fees... if there were more customers asking for foreign films, and older releases, you can bet your a$$ they'd have them in stock... but if one or two people ask for it than it makes no sense business-wise. Retail stores do not have huge warehouses to store flicks that 1 person a year wishes to see. They have to pick and choose, so sacrifices are made. 95% of customers wanna see whats new, so thats what they foc...
I'm glad I live in Canada where we are still apparently very behind with the times. Blockbuster is just now getting a firm grasp of the mass market's wallets, and I don't expect it to be going anywhere for awhile.
I just saw the new Ratchet spot on tv... makes me wanna buy another one! Pretty good idea that they included the "Starting at $399" tag at the end.
I wouldn't peg K-mart shoppers as the main demographic for any futuristic technology.. they're still buying the $25 VHS players.
Was it just the players dropped, or the movies as well?
I can't believe Wii Sports is still selling consistently... it's like people who don't even have Wiis are buying it.
Versus XIII is planned to hit 9-12 months after XIII.. so shouldn't be a problem :)
I'm sorry, but even from the underpowered Wii I expect a slight bump in the graphical department... I've already got a PS2 if I want to play games like this. It's kind of embarassing. I'll play MP3 any day over this game.
I've seen a few examples of the new campaign online... I think it looks great.

Any level-headed person knows the PS3 is far behind right now, and is not going to just jump ahead after one strong holiday season (though it will help in the long run)... I think the better news is that with the price drop for October, the 40 GB in November, plus holiday sales through the end of December, it should be a very lucrative end-of-year for Sony. Whether they come first or last this holiday it doesn't really matter. Simply put, more sales is great news for all owners of the system...

...I'm still trying to figure out who the nutters are who paid $479 today for the 60GB when they could have got the 80 GB with TWO games for an extra $20... those kinda Canadians give us a bad name! lol
Why do they have to announce it? If they're worried about stalling sales after the announcement, they should just do a surprise price drop, or include an extra controller and Resistance & Motorstorm Greatest Hits editions (which they should release soon anyways).
We're probably reading this all wrong... I bet he's laughing at us PS3 owners as we get excited, and then they drop support completely. D'oh.
Moreso an editorial than a news article. Am I the only one that wishes N4G wasn't full of this kind of garbage? Give me some real news, or else don't give me anything.
Though delays suck, and there's currently a lot of them with the PS3, if they're adding Analog controls than European gamers have a lot to look forward too and in this case the wait will be well worth it. Though I thought the SixAxis controls were bearable, having the choice would have been tremendously appreciated.
I absolutely love the series, but for the most part I don't like spin-offs too much, and S-E loves to crank them out for all their big franchises. Give me some solid KH3 news and I will respond fanatically.
