Depending on how you look at it, this could prove to be good news for potential PS3 buyers. If sales keep stumbling, Sony will have to lower the price, which will in turn drive up sales. Then again, all logical thinkers know that the console wars aren't won over the course of 6 months. In 2 or 3 years we'll have a better idea of how this will play out.
Hopefully Sony can get their tech together, and make a price drop feasible as soon as possible.
I actually liked Glover :P
This may be true, I don't know, but if it is, than it only means that we can expect to see the price of BD players drastically falling over the next year or two to stay competitive.
I really don't see how Wal-Mart siding with HD-DVD will make a huge difference though. The same titles are still going to be available on BD, and likewise with HD-DVD. If you want to see films from Disney, Sony, etc. you will have to buy a BD player. Likewise with Universal, Weinstein Company, et...
Though the K7L exclusivity was shot down months ago, and though I have no intention of playing either of these games since they hold zero appeal to me, it's good to see confirmation that the PS3 is picking up another fairly big title. More diversity for the platform is always a good thing.
Just a way for developers to con more of our money. Regular edition for me.
Are these North American numbers or worldwide?
Secret of Mana is my favourite Squaresoft game. If S-E does it next-gen style I will be very happy, and probably cry lol. I'm dying to play Dawn of Mana (though nothing will ever beat SoM co-op).
I agree, it's Wal-mart, so it's going to be shabby quality. But still, people unsure of the next-gen thing will see the price tag and jump in out of curiousity, considering how cheap it is. Everywhere I look HD-DVD players are being pushed harder. Here in Canada, the HD-DVD players cost $499 at my local Future Shop, and you get a free Batman Begins disc. The Blu-Ray players are $1399. It's pretty ridiculous. actually.
Sweet news. Bring on FF IV (US #2)! Time for some next-gen Zemus a$$-kicking.
Wow, not bad at all. These look a lot better than the 600,000 numbers from earlier this week.
Yessss I hope this (or something similar) is true. I have no use for the 200GB right now, since I don't download anything, but it would be awesome if the 60GB went down to $499 and the 200GB took the $599 tag.
NGS and Dawn of Mana are the only two titles I'd intially purchase on that list (wait for others to reach 'Greatest Hits' status and drop in price ^_^).
Overall they have good diversity across the board. PSP is getting a ton of love.
They're dropping it £20-£30. That's not going to move many more consoles than it would at £425.
If you call being paralyzed lucky...
Supposebly there are six FFXIII games coming out. I'm sure the PS3 will retain it's two exclusives... and at the same time I'm sure S-E will attempt to spread there products over the widest range of products possible to further there fan base. Entries on the Wii, 360, DS, and PSP are all possible. For the most part though, I think each title will be exclusive to one console.
I know this is going to sound bias, since I want Blu-Ray to win... but putting all biases aside, I think what Samsung and LG are doing is actually having a negative impact on the industry, and are moves meant to simply make them money, and at the same time, completely disregard the consumers. By producing dual drives, they are only furthering the confusion that the public will face: having to deal with two formats. The sooner one format wins out, the better for everyone.
Whether this has anything to do with Crysis I don't know, but whatever the case, it looks like Crytek may be looking to work on the PS3 at some level in the near future.
Thickest. Laptop. Ever.
And you still have to find a plug for it? I guess you would probably need a car battery to run it though so makes sense :P. Not quite what I thought MS had in mind for their 'handheld'.
I'm not sure if that was directed specifically towards me, but I've posted in other threads about the promise that Two Worlds holds way before I found out it was coming to the PS3, so don't try to group me as one of your little Sony fanboys. Like I said, I'm primarily an RPG/Action-Adventure gamer, and I give games and developers dues when I think they deserve them, regardless of the platform.
Haha, wow, Lair is getting a lot of publicity lately. The game better live up to all these promotions - and better come out soon!
