No, its real. I remember when it where it was posted early last year. Its just a really, really old pre-alpha image. They were still using 1 CPU core and hadn't even implemented any of the DX11 shading effects yet at that point.
They are still heavily optimizing the Wii U version of the game.
Actually, I can confirm that this was an image of the Wii U version...from February 2013.
This is an old pre-alpha image that was posted by an insider to a thread on neogaf even though he wasn't supposed to. The key here, though, is that its "old" from a point where there was hardly any progress on the Wii U version.
Why do we have two article covering the exact same story? I thought this wasn't allowed. But, goodness, was this approved fast.
@Qrphe: That is not what that meant or what they said at all. You are just trying to spin what they said to your liking.
They also said they didn't even optimize the game at all. As the person above states, they didn't even used the other 2 cores of the CPU.
They could have got it to run at 1080p with even more effects without any problem. They were under time constraints to get it out for launch, though, so their wasn't enough time.

The Wii U also has GPGPU techology which the PS3/360 do not. It has DX11 equivlent graphics and a more advanced Shader Modal which the PS3/360 do not.
Nano Assault was actually running at 1080p 60 FPS initially but the devs said that 1080p added no real visual different and decide to drop it to 720p while using more post fx.
And every actual verifiable source says the opposite of what you are saying.
Price drops have been here since the beginning for the Wii U and they never moved units. Only game did as games are the only thing that matters.
If power was ever a deciding factor in consoles, then the PS1 and PS2 would have lost horribly because they were both the weakest of their generation all around.
The CPU is actually stronger than the 360's when used propler...
The Longest Journey was great, but Dreamfall was a huge step down for me.
I hope the plot and creativity are more like the Longest Journey.
Are people even reading this? Its like they just read the words Sony and Nintendo then went forward with the typical console war rubbish.
Going by these comments, no one even cares about this game.
Their sole interest is in making an issue about it not coming to the Wii U.
All is correct exept for Nintendo.
Most game journalist are extremely biased against Nintendo for some reason and greatly exaggerate everything negative that they can to point of creative faux negativity.
Nintendo is actually doing quite well despite the nonstop negative press. Nintendo has been steadily posting profits with no tricks used to achieve it.
Because, like typical Nintendo haters, you jumped to assume the most negative and disfavorable reasons for why its not coming to the Wii U to your liking.
You should know better than posting inconvinient facts in a Wii U downtalk article.
Once the usual haters com in here and settle, anyone who isn't all in on bashing Nintendo is going to get disagreed into Oblivion.
None of that matter with a headline that is clearly attempting to feed on negative attention.
No, they don't.
If you were to do that then it would be winning substantially as it has over a million on both of them in total sales.
Nintendo did't make the tech. Another company made it for them and they failed to check if a similar patent existed.
Nintendo is being sued and the other company isn't because the lawsuit isn't for stealing tech. Its for selling technology for which their was already similar patent.
1. The gamepad isn't a tablet.
2. Microsoft were the originators of tablet PCs.
3. The gamepad is based on the DS which with predates all Apple's touchscreen devices, so if anything, it would be Nintendo suing Apple.
Nintendo has over 10 billion in reserves and this suit is for 15 million...
Of course if your goal was anything other than looking for whatever means you can to trash Nintendo, then you would have known that.
As always, Nintendo haters live in another reality.
Nintendo didn't copy anyone. They didn't develop the tech. Another company developed it for them.
The lawsuit wasn't for "stealing' tech. It was making money on tech that was found to be similar enough to already patented tech. This is why Nintendo was sued and not the company that actually developed the 3D feature that the 3DS uses.
Get your facts straight.
Now if someone had said this on a Sony article about Sony, they would have gotten marked down for trolling immediately.
