Selling a Wii U slim would increase coss as the system is already small. Making it smaller would require higher quality, more expensive parts. The only way to cut cost would be to make a large system that allowed for cheaper components without sacrificing on power or cooling.

Second, the Gamepad is a requirement for most games in the console. They won't even run without it. Their would be no point in buying the console if not for the gamepad.

Third, the h...

Yes it is. The headline is intentionally misleading. Its only one SKU, not the Wii U as a whole, but they title it to make it look like Nitnendo is discontinuing the console.

This site has history of sensationalizing every negative thing they can find about Nitnendo. They have history of spinning good news about Nintendo negatively and twisting facts about Nitnendo.

All consoles should struggle to keep up with handehlds. Hanhelds tradiationally outsell consoles.

The Vita is supposed to beat the Wii U, PS4, Xboxone and every other console.

Selling only slightly less than Vita speaks more ill for the Vita than for the Wii U.

The article is using an intentionally misleading headline. Its just a single SKU.

Apparently, you don't know what a console is.

Nice, more games for the Wii U. Now lets watch no one else reply and later beat on the "Wii U has no third party support" drum somewhere.

4396d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

Financial records show that even when third parties still heavily supported Nintendo, they were not its biggest source of profit. That has always been hardware.

Nintendo only make 3-5$ off of retail third party software sales.

Nintendo made more money off of the Wii(the console with the least 3rd party support) than at any other point in their history or any other companies history for that master.

There have been 6 Zelda games released in the last 12 years.

5 3D mario games have been released in the last 12 years. There have been more releases of God of War than there have 3D Mario games in the last 12 years.

The current remakes are Ocarina of Time 3D, followed by Star Fox 64 3D and then Wind Waker HD. They have a total of 3 remakes currently in their entire current gen library.

The 3DS currently has 2 Pokemon games. X/Y, and Mystery D...

This is completely false, all financial reports show that hardware "IS" where Nintendo makes most of its money.

Why are you writing 300 million, as .3 billion? No one with good intentions tries to inflate how a loss is visibly perceived. Also, I thought it was 230 million?

4396d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I am 100% certain that VITA had 0% to do with any of Nintendo's decisions regarding the 3DS.

4396d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

Calm down? What are you talking about? Oh wait, you are trying to exaggerate my stance as usual.

No one ever agrued that the Wii U was as strong as the PS4/Xbone ever, yet here you are still making straw man arguments that implied that they did just so you can attack them(since you don't have anything legitimate to actually attack in this case being that its an all around positive article)

Get your facts straight Lol_Wut. Your attempts to disparage Ninten...

That is false. Hardwarewise, it has the same tech as the PS4, and Xbone. It simply doesn't have a much horsepower.

The Wii U uses technology that didn't even exist when the PS3/360 were released. That alone makes its next gen.

4398d ago 5 agree2 disagreeView comment

You didn't state facts. You stated commonly believed falsehoods.

The Wii U has a custom made GPGPU graphics processor, DX11 hardware features with Power7 eDRAM with MERSI instructions on its CPU. You couldn't get that in 2008/2009. Not without paying thousands.

Dev after dev has stated that the Wii U supports every feature the PS4/xbone support. That is why the Wii U version of Project CARs wasn't dropped with PS3/360. The devs states clearly that...

I'm not talking about when people going into do downtalk the Wii U and dismiss anything positive said about. It still gets that in spades.

Their losses last quarter don't even total 1 percent of their cash reserves.

Long Asnwer: No

They aren't going anyway. They would have to lose this much per quarter for the next 5 years just to lose 1% of their current cash reserves.

I don't see that happening with the game drought finally coming to and end this year.

This is what I call a real dev.

Notice how no one responds on positive articles like this at all, though. No ONE. Not even the few fans that are on this site.

That is why negative articles are so pervasive. People only care about negativy and trashiness. If the article isn't written in an insulting way towards Nintendo or focused on only the negative point, then it generates no hits from anyone.

For anyone who wonders why the negative art...

Their are no defends. Only people who actually look at all of the facts and details for what they are in reality and immature bashers.

No one ever said the Wii U was doing great, yet here all of you come making an issue about it doing poorly and insisting that people were saying its doing great.

The way you can tell the difference between a basher/hater, and a normal gamer is that they normal gamers don't just focus 100% on everything negative and end all ...

Their only hope to do what? Go bankrupt?

They are already selling at a loss. That is why the Wii U isn't making any money. Because it literally isn't making any money. It sold 500k units in December alone last year. 500k units would have been profitable if everyone of them wasn't sold at a huge loss.

Making the loss even bigger is going to make them more money how exactly?

4398d ago 0 agree4 disagreeView comment

That's been done since early last year. You could have gotten it at that price and lower many times.

Prices drops never moved units.

Only software successfully caused sales to spike. Its all about sales and marketing with the Wii U.

4398d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yep, price cuts did nothing as has been stating.

The biggest boost game from software alone making you wrong as usual. Thanks for quoting something that counters you long running mantra.
