This article is a load bull with a fictitiou clickbait headline. Nintendo has in no way failed. The 3DS is still the best selling system worldwide. The Wii U is simply having a hard time getting up do to lack of regular major software releases.
There are actually still human being that believe the Wii U has a 4650, when it has been confirmed that the Wii U was using 4850 prior too launch and that the final GPU, which is completely custom built, has even higher performance than that.
The tech in the PowerPC CPU the WIi U uses is more advanced then the tech in the PS4/Xbone. They use x86 which is over a decade older and far less efficent. They simply have higher clocks and more cores to offset to handle problems with...

Third party games do little for Nintendo. They get 3$-5$. Per 3rd party game retail. Third party games have never been Nintendo biggest source of profit.
