the first one wasn't all that great compared to the 360 version (in terms of visuals) so I refuse to buy games that don't..no...pay full price for games that are lesser games. I might just save my money for Killzone 2, Resistance 2, GT5, etc.
and I'm sure Sony wants to get it to us. Do any of you really think they're sitting on this thing when it could've been released? I'm sure they've got guys on it night and day. You know what happens if they release it early; they get killed by everyone.
The media will criticize them big time, the fanboys will laugh, and we'll see what we always say: it takes time.
When Home is at a basic level of functionality and the servers are in place to accommodate everyone wh...
the hardcore gamer will buy a casual game but the casual game does not buy a hardcore game.
Example: My grandma, who owns a Wii, will buy a Wii play or cooking mama. I, who own a PS3, will pick up a casual game as well.
My grandma will not buy a game like Call of Duty 4 no matter what. It's too intimidating. The games have to stay casual and non-complex.
Killzone 2 in Graphics. PS3 is not a "cookie cutter" machine. Devs are just now figuring out how to utilize it. Read the Far Cry 2 preview and you'll see that Ubisoft is now heralding the machine's SPUs and the Cell. I know Guerilla will utilize these things as well. Heck, with one stage having more polygons than Killzone 1 I'm excited.
Story: Killzone 2. Gears didn't really have one, did it? Your breaking out of jail (why were you in?), you're at your dads who happens...
I thought about how much time I spend with my PS3 on yet not quite feeling like another match of COD4 (these feelings only last for 10 minutes max) and I haven't quite finished Uncharted yet but I'm savoring it. So anyway, Home would be a great filler. I could get my apartment all decked out and chill with some of you. Can't wait for it.

They've made announcements before at GDC. I think they just bowed out because the hype for their games is already there. Their system is doing very well. Why reveal more than you have too?
Not like gamers don't like movies? I mean, if you already forked out money for an HD tv and an HD game system, why would you care what happens with HD movies? What a yawn fest /end sarcasm
what a bummer. I guess I'm expecting a Killzone beta, a Metal Gear Online beta or maybe a Metal Gear demo, a LBP demo, maybe a vid of how "The Getaway" or "8 days to Vegas" is going. How about a firmware with something desperately wanted: I'm not not saying what because I think we all know what.
I went through the game drought so I'm not complaining. This is just sorta like waiting for Christmas and it's only November 27. I want the hyped stuff already.
can't SCEA do something on their own? Isn't the Playstation corp split by locale, e.g., U.S., Japan, Europe, etc? Oh well, I'm sure the PS3 will be so much more this time next year than it is now.
So why not get a PS3?
Give me transformers now!
Yes, but I don't think it'll be because of blu-ray. Blu-ray will help but once the great games start coming out it'll be a clear decision for all.
not just business. Corporations have a basic function-earn money-but they still owe a certain responsibility to the consumer. The fact that they're quoted as taking advantage of the "misinformed" just shows this is more than just business. They know what they're doing and it doesn't surprise me. This is the same company that doesn't offer you anything in a way of a refund for XBL when your 360 is in for repairs. MS, I was with you last time. The Xbox was awesome. But you really blew...
Seriously, can you people stop with the "PS3 has no games to play" crap. It really makes you look dumb when you say something so stupid. PS3 has no games to play yet I'm playing COD4, Uncharted, Ratchet, UTIII, DMC4, Burnout, etc. Sheesh.
And Virtual boy? For you to say that makes you look like a real dope. Virtual Boy NEVER enjoyed a 1/10 of the success that PS3 has.
funny stuff. Made me actually lol.
but he's equating them to laziness. C'mon man. I bust my hump all day at school and then work at night. On the weekends I like to kick back and play some games. I'm not out drinking and driving, breaking the law, or collecting welfare. I play games to relax. Once these people see that games are entertainment in the same way as TV, Movies, and to some extent books, maybe then they'll sound like something other than misinformed talking heads.
At this rate we'll have Killzone 3 and God of War 3 before Final Fantasy is ready. C'mon Square, get it together. PS3 is RPG starved. I hope White Knight story makes it out this year. I need a JRPG fix and soon.
No. This can't be /sarcasm off.
If a company is willing to do this to it's consumers it's not a company I want to do business with.
love the animation. Hopefully they do a better job with the story this time. And I'd like a few instances where you face more than like four guys at a time. Just to switch things up a bit. Can't wait for this one. Hopefully MS allows my roommates "order" to go through on his 360 repair.
Just listen to a 1up show. Garnett thinks its too ambitious because the basic functions-in game XMB for example-are missing. Shane and Bryan are at least curious but overall most people think you need it to play online with your friends which is not true. I'll give it a go but if you guys don't get into it then it won't be fun.
I'll admit I've never played second life but I loved the sims.
