@Kunit
You know this is a PC title also right? Half the people in here thinking about getting the game would not have to worry about any of those things you listed. The biggest consideration for the PC is the lame DRM.
Gun_Senshi you are missing the point entirely.
This article has nothing to do with that. The article is about ignoring the number, and that seems to be the last thing you're capable of. You say you read the articles, then good, go off that. Stop trying to figure out why MW2 might have got a 10 on graphics but GoW3 only got a 9.5. If you like the graphics then it doesn't really matter what number a reviewer felt they deserved.
@Mr Bun
You know theres no such things as "loading" HD graphics right? The closest thing to what you're say would be texture resolution but both games use the same textures. I agree the PS3 outputs it at a higher resolution but that has nothing to do with load times.
@Mnicolas
Hmmm, well some of those things you listed really aren't true. Im going to base this on the first crysis since crysis 2 hasn't come out. Everything in Killzone 2 is static (environment-wise) where as cysis as destructable, just something to keep in mind. Also, there was far more environment geometry in Crysis. As for characters im not sure. I know crysis had around 10k, cant find any figures on KZ2 but I know marcus from Gears has 15k and Crysis definitely looks better ...
Any one else just dislike motion controls all together? I always feel like an idiot. Not to mention I don't even know how they're gonna make games for Natal.
You probably know nothing of what these people do. Additionally, whos to say the PSN store is dices fault. I have it on PC (as I mentioned in a previous post) and it works fine. Im thinking it's slightly out of their hands since they don't own and operate the store.
I could be wrong, but I bring up my previous point. Do you work more than 40 hours a week? More likely 60? Or even more probable during crunch time 80-90?
Its not just laziness, there are ridiculous stan...
This outrage seems a little extreme. Does that blogger work every waking moment? Im guessing not. To be upset with a group of people taking a little relaxation after grueling hours is absurd. Also, I have the game on PC and while Ive seen some issues, nothing that is stopping me from playing the game. Same story with my friends who got it on Xbox. Maybe they are now, but I haven't heard anything from them. So it is my understanding that the issues with the game are not cataclysmic.
And some are all three. Those are the ones you really have to look out for.
@raztad
Im not entirely disputing your point... but thats a pretty big generalization. I am a PC gamer and a console gamer. The biggest problem with your point is the belief that people who play games on the PC needlessly through out money to afford their serious addiction. For one, an ATI 4870 is the card I have, which I purchased a year and a half ago for 270 dollars. Games still look way better on it than any console game Ive played.
Also, the other point to brin...
@Shazui
I was talking about the bloom, that doesn't have anything to do with Anti-aliasing. Plus, AA doesn't really change the look of an image, rather it renders a scene more closely to how it should be seen. What I was saying was intense bloom, although sometimes serving in place of depth of field can detract from the realism of an image. Also, Im leaving HDR related bloom out of this since not only did I not see any in the demo I played, it would be very hard to tell from sti...
I agree with you spand, aside from texture improvements (most noticeable on the giant) it seems the biggest changes were to uping the bloom post processing effect. However, given the mythological setting, I will say it kinda adds to the environment rather than detracting from the realism. Like it does when it's way over used in other titles.
Yes, and Gears of War looked very good. I mean, I played crysis maxed out before I played gears and I still thought it looked good. Just like I think GOW3 looks good. Graphics are getting to the point where theres not always a definitive "better". Not to mention taking linearity vs. open world into account.
Im not sure, but if you're like me, you're wishing it was more like BF2. I've played about 8 hours of online and am yet to see a helicopter. Are there even any in online play? I really wish this played like a more modern BF2. That would be money.
@Beg
I think what you're failing to realize is that people have different taste in games. For example, I have no urge to play GOW3. So while Im sure it's a great game, it's just not my cup of tea. Thats the problem with game reviews, you may like this game more than the arbitrary 9.2 it got. That doesn't mean however, that they're full of crap like you seem to want to believe. Read the actual review and see what they say, because a number is literally incapable of summing up any ...
As someone above mentioned, I don't believe this includes digital downloads (which is how I got my copy). Because I also heard a quote that there were more PC users online than 360 and PS3 combined.
More important point, how is this patentable? I mean, you can't patent movie or game ideas, and this seems to me little more than a game mechanic.
Id boycott Activision if it wasn't for Blizz. Im in the SC2 beta and Im gonna have to pick it up.
Well, I played SC1 extensively and was quite good at it. I however am constantly stomped in SC2. Sooo, while there may be n00bs in it, there are still an extensive amount of very skilled players.
And for anyone who doesn't think this site is dominated by sony fanboys, see above. Im not talking about sony fans, just the boys who think its clever to troll in a 360 thread.
@Ali
Maybe you think texture resolution is somehow related to rendering resolution? But even there PC's have the clear advantage of easily having 8 times the RAM.
