The autoaim in MW2 drives me insane. I swear more often than not it results in me shooting a wall because it doesn't actually lock on, it follows a targets path but not the target itself. There should be an option to turn it off.
I don't know about this one. First of all, the claim that the ps3 is the defacto standard for hardcore FPS seems a little, how you say, fanboyish. Im a huge FPS (and TPS) gamer and I don't do it as much on my PS3. I find I play the ps3 shooters for their single player (UC2, KZ2) but don't get into the multi. For me, the biggest thing is the controller. Im not a fan of the thumbstick placement and the lack of stick resistance. Im sure that will get disagrees but it is my opinion. For other gam...
I can't say that I completely agree. I think the stand point of Wada is that they have their best and most talented working on the final fantasy projects. I don't think there is any mystery about that. Because of this, I think he wants to take that talent and put it to use in new ways. I doubt they'll completely change the feel of final fantasy but evolve it appropriately. No one was upset when Final fantasy 11 came out, and while it's labeled as a final fantasy game it is completely differen...
Ill be honest, I didn't mind the story as much until I read mrv's post. The action elements and flow of the game are handled so well that I think I forgot to really look at the underlying story. With mrv's analysis now I really can't. So in a way, thanks mrv, and also... I hate you lol.
But why is her head so small?
Im with shadowCK to an extent. Well I guess you can't say its anyone else's fault, everyone on here is way too critical of IW. Im sure all of you are master game devs that wouldn't have any glitches in your amazing game.
There's nothing wrong if you don't like MW2. But what point is there to hate it? Just because it's on top? Obviously there's a good amount of people out there who enjoy it and that doesn't make them idiots for buying it.
After reading the full twitter battle, I would say Jaffe definitely belongs on there. Cliffy may be douchey sometimes, but everything I've heard from people who've worked with him and met him say he's a nice guy. Jaffe just seems like a di*khead.
Its always eye opening how different game sales are between japan and the states.
@above
Well, this one wasn't a glitch. But I will admit I laughed a little at first watching people detonate upon death with the javelin glitch. It made sniping entertaining. Then it got old... really really fast.
Man, either people don't like jokes or people really hate gears of war.
I don't know guys. I see a lot of differences between this and Gears of War. Not sure where you're seeing the similarities.
This article was the first thing that made me look at my game collection from this generation and realize how much more heavily it leaned on western games. Of my 25 games spread across the 360, ps3, and Wii, only 4 are Japanese (MGS4, SF4, Twilight princess, and Lost Odyssey). The biggest thing to impact that ratio i think is how I really don't like the direction Nintendo took. For example I think Mario galaxies is the first mario game I haven't cared for.
@griever
Im not disagreeing with you because surely your opinion is your own, but Im a sharp contrast in that I much prefer MW2's multi over MW1. I think this mostly has to with level design. I feel like a lot more effort went into designing MW2's levels to really cut out camping. Nearly ever portion of every map has 3 ways of getting to it. High ground is advantages at times, but at others makes you extremely obvious and just gets you killed.
COD4 had the same problem with HS recognition. I can't say it's a bug but they might have put it in place to eliminate spray HS kills. However, nothing is more irritating than lining a HS up on someone not moving and not having it register.
He was only a design consultant on that. Chair made the actual game. Epic just gave input and I'm guessing, money. Regardless, I loved that game.
I agree with this list much more than the original.
Im thinking that these won't be released as DLC. Im not defending IW, because they completely said F you to PC gamers (which is who gave them their start, kinda like epic has done too). However, gametypes usually consist of little more than a file describing gameplay. Since no actual assets are held within the gametype specifier, including them on disk only adds at most a few megs of space. I have the feeling these gametypes were just tests that they forgot to remove. The only one that seems ...
I'm with blackmagic on this one. For one, everyone knows the risk they were taking. If they didn't, that's their fault and legally they have no claim against microsoft. Secondly, Microsoft barely makes money off hardware sales, so the argument that they are banning consoles so that people have to purchase a new one is foolish. They'd make much more money off the modders continued subscription to XBL by not banning the console.
I know everyone loves to hate on Microsoft, and lots ...
Right, I agree 4 is too short. However it took me about 8 on veteran (guess Im not as good as I hoped). However, that experience was extremely well crafted in my opinion. Ill take a great 8 hour experience over a drawn out 15 hour experience. So to me, it comes down to quality. These triple A shooters are getting shorter because it takes longer and longer to make games as intricate as they are.
My beef is that the article doesn't even describe the process. To me it just sounds like a work around for a lack of integrated AA support. I could be wrong, but why would a PC game want to program in a work around for AA? Not to mention, most console games don't even feature AA because they have a hard enough time running at 720p at 30fps.
It seems like everyone neglects some simple facts when looking at consoles. Yes, with the use of proper programming, the PS3 can deliver bett...
