Thats what really gets me. The low life f***s even went after his wife and pets with threats. I really hope they messed up and law enforcement can find them.
I get that maybe you don't want to play half life. Or half life 2. But to say valve is not a note worthy developer is retarded and fan boyish. Im a PC gamer at heart, but I own all the this gen consoles. And the truth is, they are a wonderful development team. Im not saying you have to love L4D, because I certainly don't, but when it comes to Valve North (in charge of the half life business) they make wonderful games. You can act like you don't want them, and maybe you don't, but don't claim ...
@Fantasy Star
I'm curious what GFX Card you can't peak over 30fps on for crysis? My Rig is a year old (8 gigs ddr2, quad core 2.66, and a ATI4870) and I run it on high settings 1680x1050 (no AA unfortuantely) at a solid 40FPS.
I'm asking because I feel like you would have a comparable setup from your price range and was wondering if you do have a similar card if you were running some settings that might be making you take a bit of a hit.
@kakkoi
Thanks for the good read. Very well written article.
@Kronie
I think you're getting the tessellation mixed up with normal maps, which yes DX10 was well capable of. Granted, it doesn't look like the roof was being rendered with a map applied so it looked flatter than it probably could have. Still, it wouldn't match DX11 in terms of realism.
@Supprey
I noticed improvements in the soft shadows. DX9 had really hard edges. Also, not pictured, but for DX10 there were shader improvements made.
No, it's not that vampires are gay or have anything to do with fantasy. It's that the books are terribly written and the first movie, I don't know about the second, was terribly done as well.
Look at the reading level of the book:

as opposed to say a good fantasy novel like The Fellowship of the Ring:
Im not saying Gears storying telling is as good as it should be but I thought it was a funny coincidence.
Yeah, I don't get that one at all. For one, it's readily available on steam (even HL source which has some enhanced graphics) and secondly there is a mod being made on the source engine to recreate the experience. Why would anyone want this on consoles I wonder? There are games that are better on consoles and HL is certainly not one of them.
No man it's cool, hayden said no-homo. There is no way it could be homo. As a side note, where's baird? Talk about a dream boat!
And yes that was a joke.
I was wondering if they were including the PC version of RAGE in that. I mean, in terms of overall "graphics" a high end PC will always win out. However, what uncharted had was amazing mo-cap, character models, and a very beautiful art style. Textures will just look much crisper on the PC since (using my computer as an example) they get to access 8 gigs of RAM vs. the roughly 512 megs you would find in the PS3.
I don't think RAGE will look better than uncharted 2, on th...
I made it all the way through without it freezing on me, so I guess I wouldn't know about this.
@rhythmatic
Very good video. Even if the man in the video was a fanboy, his tests were correct and done well. The 360 doesn't output in native 1080p. Certainly for video the ps3 handles HD much better.
The only other argument about HD comes with games. Since they have to be rendered in real time. 1920X1080 (2073600 pixels) against 1280x720 (921600 pixels) takes over double the pixel pushing power. Adding to that the post processing effects that get applied to each p...
Yeah, these people really are the worst. The funny part is, just like in a mugging, if you humanize yourself about half the people will stop talking trash. I find in Gears (I play the first one) if Im not talking people will talk trash about me because I do quite well and that makes them angry so they say Im trash because "I only shotgun" or "Put the lancer down". The insults rarely make sense but if I just hop on and say "Guys, Im not talking trash, just take it easy...
Why is everyone so worried about it being a 96 or a 97 on metacritic. When it gets that precise it really doesn't matter. I'm sure most of you are already enjoying it, reviews don't matter at that point. I picked it up at midnight and couldn't put it down till 9:30 in the morning and that's only because I beat it. It's incredible, so certainly a 96 or 97 doesn't matter.
Yeah, but its been PS3 owned since I made my account which was 2 years ago. Ah well, theres some fair minded people on here still so thats good. And for the record, Im not saying if you like the PS3 that you're not fair minded, it kinda reads like that but thats not what Im saying.
@Microsoft Xbox 360
What technical limitations would hinder using more vibrant colors? I've worked with the unreal 3 engine and it's capable of vibrant colors. Granted it will always look like U3 because of it's extremely noticeable way of rendering Specular and Normal maps. the fact is, their diffuse textures for the most part are very brown and gray, something their artists tried to do.
I know my movie theater where I live had posters all over for Uncharted and some special event that I never figured out. But I've seen a lot more TV slots for Brutal Legend. I don't watch baseball though, guess thats my problem? Now if they could just make it more entertaining then I could see a Uncharted commercial.
Man, it's getting bad on here. Even PS3 fans are getting slammed for supposed "slanderous" remarks towards the PS3. You give people an agree system and a strong point of view and things get cah-razy!
That was directed at haruko's response... which just seemed like an honest thought.
Is this a joke article and I missed it? Sony had nothing to do with the making of the cell processor. Sony doesn't manufacture processors, IBM does and they made the cell. Sony was just the first major buyer.
As a side note, P2P means peer-to-peer which is not what the game uses. It still uses a client/sever architecture, just one of the clients also acts as the server. What they did get rid of is the option for dedicated servers... and that's bullsh*t.
