Mods are not approving the articles. They are being approved by us the users. They don't have an eye to be able to shoot down every lame story. And not sure they would do so in this opinion piece that was just way off mark.

Not ever wanting to agree with the VampirTroll but he is correct in the limitations on size and such. Developers are limited to criteria set down for them from the source company. i.e. if it was an XBLA game then limitations on size and price are set down. As with most any smartphone device... the companies put down criteria for development. Just as many companies really will not allow pornography to be made for their systems. (of course homebrew is another matter all together)

"We certainly wouldn’t change our strategy or our approach based on what a competitor is doing." ~Charlie Scibetta

Glad this guy is not on the battle field. He would be attacking the opposition while they see themselves being flanked, all the while saying... We are certainly not going to change our strategy or our approach based on what they are doing.... Charge!

What is your reasoning Ranshak? Why can they not use a new engine and learn from previous iterations to develope a game that can handle both the resolution and frame rate that they consider optimal?

Your logic on this situation is faulty.

The article though hits on the fact that the battery will give the PSV less chance of hacking... when it has already been proven that it did not hinder the PSP Go from being hacked.

Change in media is the greatest chance of slowing down hackers. Battery consuption... not so much.

What Sony needs to do is go with a media created just for PSV and owned by Sony so that it does not have market availabilty to hackers. And for Sony not to release the media in a...

"With Sony’s next generation PSP coming early next year, the battery on it will no longer be removable and it will be similar to the battery equipped on the PSP Go."

The author does realize that the PSP Go has been hacked already right???? So pretty sure that the battery will not be a major difficulty for hackers. Definetly not a reason for the PSV being unhackable.

True but we also as responsible submitters try to recognize flame bait sites and not push their agenda for hits.

More like Nintendo finally planning on making a console for this generation? Or a controller? Or something that seems to maybe be this generation capable but not sure and not really caring about until we see some specs maybe???

What do you mean no? Of course it was new. Bluray, cell processor, graphics capability, directly competing with the Xbox 360.

Now the Wii U... will not be directly competing with the 360 or PS3. It will have similar HD capabilities but will not have the capabilities that SOny and MS have been able to achieve with their years on market with their current generation systems.

You just can't try and come into the current generation at the END of the gener...

"As the excitement caused by E3 dies down..." really? Was their excitement this year? Come on... this had to be one of the lamest E3 showings in a long time. People just were NOT excited after E3. Nothing dropped that people didn't already know about or have a true interest in.

And Wii U... hahahaha people are STILL scratching their heads.

It wasn't even a reveal. It was more a 'hope we get something like this to the market next year' and even then they didn't say what they were bringing to the market as nobody really knows what they saw. A controller a system? What? Majority of people are just not understanding their systems specs or what is it they are actually try to sell here.

Stock owners don't like that... me personally... I would have sold day of E3 reveal and buy back when it hits ...

@VampiricDragon
Obviously you are not watching the stocks very closely then? MSFT has been rather steady with an even moderate buy with no sell rating in the last 3 months.

Duke Nukem is Andrew Dice Clay in soul and spirit!

I have never been a huge fan of Duke Nukem, but I think that this title will be worth picking up for me.

I can understand why others might not be drawn to it... for each their own. But the game will easily hit 1 million copies besting some games that might even be better then it.

Tell you what Bonobo12345, contact Sony and tell them you want to make an Indie game for them and see how far you get.

Now go online and talk with Microsoft about the same thing. See which route gets you closer to being able to actually put a game on either console.

Here are some links to get you started:

Not true Indie developers. Companies that have much more financial backing then true Indie developers. The article is aimed towards the garage developers out there... the true Indie devleopers that don't have a corporate logo or backing per say. The garage homebrew Indie developers.

You hit it on the head. The article said the loosers where the Indi developers basically.

5406d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

What most people are getting tied up with is the definition of Indie which has been an on going debate. Sony does support Indie development but not the low tier developers/garage developers. They sign contracts with companies to develope Indie games.

Microsoft on the other hand has truly opened up to the garage developers of Indie games. The non-company non-money backed game makers.

Similar thing is happening in the movie world. You used to see real Indi...

As is normal with most any site these days. They hit on both PS3 and 360, and poke at both to get each of the others fanboys going and trying to feed hits.
