Bragging and propaganda are not two mutually exclusive things.
Thank you. And how many gamers die on a daily basis? Are their deaths reminders devs should be more thankful for their fans?
This article is the flip side of the Pachter coin. Just mourn the man. Stop trying to bring extra into it.
Mad? No, that's laughter and bewilderment, bruh. So many people now care about sales when you throw them a bone in the form of some Greenberg spin about Xbox winning a week. I'm sure as I was typing this Xbox sold more than PS4 for some fraction of time in some limited area. Quick, let's brag about it!
What!? You're going to try to put this on the reporting? The reporting was about as straight as it gets. If anything the situation demanded some editorializing to observe how ridiculous the boast is.
If Greenberg isn't bragging, why bring the other consoles into it by saying Xbox was #1? When talking about all of June he conveniently forgets there's competition. The only comparisons then are with what MS did before. As soon as he finds the pettiest of wins over t...
@memots
Tell me about it. For all the N4G is full of irrational Xbox hate talk, there sure are a lot of articles catering to Xbox fans. Now we have consolation prize articles declaring Xbox may be losing the global war, and the North America war, and the North America June battle, but they won the week of E3 before losing again by golly!
@PistolsAtDawn
We all see what you're trying to do. If erroneously claiming by typing in all caps that "MS CRUSHED PS4" isn't "cheering for one console to crush the other," I don't know what is, especially when MS themselves never even said what you're attributing to them.
Emphasizes "MS CRUSHED PS4 in sales."
Next sentence: "Stop cheering for one console to crush the other in sales."
Update: That spin is working good if they have you thinking "starting the week of E3, MS CRUSHED PS$ in sales." More like "we were #1 selling console the week of E3." Week of E3. Not after. I guess such desperate spin actually works on some people.

My backlog will keep me busy so I'll pick up Bloodborne for a nice $20 on a holiday discount. Then there's Persona 5 and this pretty awesome game I've been playing in Alpha on Steam, releasing on PS4, called The Forest. Just off the top of my head.
I'd be careful throwing that "GOOD" word around. Two of those franchises you listed aren't even made by the developers that made them famous. One has zero experience maki...
1) Different circumstances, different investments, different expectations.
2) Both companies benefited from Nintendo targeting a different market. Business wasn't hurt as much as it could have been, because many of those Wii sales were coming from people who wouldn't buy a 360 or PS3 anyway, and they didn't have to worry about Wii raking in the multiplat sales or netting 3rd party exclusives. The PS4 and XB1 target the same audience and compete over those 3rd par...
80+% of statistics come from someone's rear end.
Sales wise it depends. You have to factor in things like how much they've invested and how much they're getting back off of that investment. We don't have those figures, but coming off of the success of the 360, they probably invested more in the XB1 than they did the 360 coming off of the failure of the OG Xbox. Then there's the loss from the Kinect investment and the price cuts to boost sales. It's not as simple as just looking at where the XB1 is compared to the 360 at ...
@Angeljuice
What you and Mr. Syphilis are overlooking is not everyone wants to become an Adderall junkie to compete on a level playing field.
Before I even read, this is satire, right? Sigh. I already know it's not. It's actually quite believable. Believable but sad. Remember when games were about fun?
@twiggy
That's his game. He keeps responding to that objective fact by trying to drag people into a subjective argument.
@Spotie
Somebody is hip to the game. If they meant "comeback" in the way Septic defined it, they wouldn't view it as a comeback, or make it dependent on how Xbox performs against PS4 this holiday. But rest assured if it doesn't happen "comeback" will mean something like "Sales don't matter," "Xbox is #1 in my book," and the comparisons will be how XB1 is doing at this stage against last gen's iteration, which released un...
@moldy
I'm surprised you even dignified Septic's deflection with an answer. What did naming great AAA exclusives have to do with Xbox not releasing a AAA exclusive since November 2014?
That's exactly what I was just talking about. Don't like the argument? Move the goalposts and re-frame it. See how he tried to shift the argument from hard fact to subjective? And in such an underhanded way as to cast the critical eye on PS4 AAAs only.

@FlexLuger
"Quick to brush of x1 only games as 'if you are into that sort of thing'...like that dont apply to bloodborne persona a butt load of exclusive indies and niche japanese titles..these things dont sell consoles in the west..."
No. The problem is people love brushing off PS4, games, as this article does: "At the moment the Xbox One has more exclusives than the PS4..." In what delusional world? No matter how many ways it'...
@Melman26
This insecure, defensive urge to point out that an obvious opinion is opinion is annoying and immature. Do we have to put "in my opinion" in every post?
To Rocket's point, it doesn't need proving. It's the best console by just about every metric. Specs? Check. Number of games? Check. Sales? Check. That last one means there are more opinions that agree with his than yours.
@Pope
Explain how your easily debunked attach rate argument transfers into real world dollars for Ubi.
P.S. Redo the math:
27 (PS4) ÷ 11 (XB1) = 2.45
11 (PS3) ÷ 11 (360) = 1
Most estimates don't have PS4 system sales at 2.45x the XB1, yet. PS3 and 360 console sales are pretty even and it shows that their attach rate for Ubi games is even, too. PS4 would need to outsell XB1 by 2.45x just for the attach r...
@lastking95
I don't know who you're used to talking to, but when you have a discussion with me, come honest, or prepare to get called on your dishonesty.
Did I argue people are "celebrating and caring," or is "celebrating" something you added to the equation so that you can set up a straw man argument? Whether people are or are not celebrating is a debate beyond the point. I never said they were. I said people care, which is prova...
