True enough, but this gen started off with the announcements of Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, and Dead Rising. That's going in pretty hard.
So show us where MS said anything beyond it being an Xbox exclusive with the "holiday 2015" qualifier following it. Show us where it said it would never come to another console, as Sony and Capcom did as soon as the SF deal was announced.
Come on. Do you think these companies are that stupid? They're going to risk TR fans holding out for a PS version, risk those fans buying it later at a discounted price instead of the full new game price, and risk those fans g...
@Dothraki
Way to completely ignore a valid point to counter the argument with your gut feeling.
Ryse wasn't even the best looking game when the systems launched, but it's a subjective argument, so that's all trolls have to fall back on, hoping if they repeat that "fact" enough times they'll fool themselves and others into believing it.
Pretty sure it's supposed to be judged for what it is, which is why they noted it was pre-alpha. Nuance, people. Try it.
"I remember buying a 599 Ps3 to play Metal Gear Solid 4 only because I'm a fan of that game."
I bought a $600 PS3 to play Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

Don't judge me.
You just made me sad, thinking about how many great franchises Capcom is just sitting on.
It's funny. I actually agree with his skepticism when these 3rd parties say a game wouldn't have been made had X console manufacturer not funded it. The difference is, I stop at saying I'm skeptical or suspicious. Joe goes off on a rant like he has budgets in front of him. That's why I'm not big on guys whose schtick is to get angry. Pressure to live up to their gimmick compels them to extremes.
1) It's false equivalency to compare this to the TR deal. This is equivalent to the Dead Rising deal Xbox struck with Capcom.
2) Stop whining about hypocrisy. It's called "don't bite the hand that feeds you." More TR fans are PS gamers, and it's even worse when you add PC gamers to that list. Square screwed over the overwhelming majority of their fanbase with the Xbox deal. You know, fans from the platforms that have been supporting TR since the firs...
Speaking of misconstruing and the 3rd party exclusive trend, why do you keep trying to reach all the way back to Tomb Raider II, implying a money-hat from Sony kept the game off other consoles?
"The game is going to be PlayStation and PC only. Does cutting out the Saturn version allow you any additional flexibility?
"Smith: Basically, that's it in a nutshell. If we looked long and hard enough at it, we could have done another Saturn version, but...
Why does this deal keep getting compared to TR, or even TF, but not its closest parallel, Dead Rising? This article is over a year late.
Five things I hate about Assassin's Creed:

@sweetSWAGGER
Fair point. He does analyze the content, but it should have stayed at that. The two should have been separate videos. It's clearly a "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" scenario. He benefited from using their assets. Do you think Capcom came away feeling like they benefited from providing Joe that video?
I think they sent out mass communications to the gaming press, linking them to where they could download the video, to ...
It's not about supporting censorship. I actually agree with his skepticism over whether Capcom could have made SF:V independent of Sony, just like I'm skeptical whether EA needed MS to help fund Titanfall, in any capacity, or with the Dead Rising situation. Check my comment history. You don't have to go back far. I said this will become the go-to excuse for accepting a money-hat.
However, you are off-base claiming people are supporting censorship. It's one thi...
@sweetSWAGGER
Maybe not getting paid, but the material is attracting people to the video, which translates into more money for Angry Joe.
He should have just not accepted the video, seeing it as a potential conflict of interest. It isn't even like it was being used to review the product. I think Capcom intended this as a "you scratch our back we'll scratch yours." Each party gets promotion. Capcom gets promotion for the game by Joe sharing ...
"I wouldn't want that person to earn a living from my material."
Or using my copyrighted material to bash me. Assuming what he said about acquiring the video is true, why would he accept it in the first place? Didn't he think that may present a conflict of interest?
Click-bait title that tries to parade old news as new. It shouldn't have passed approval. You know its click-bait when they don't even bother to address the headline subject in the article.
@mhunterjr
What are you talking about?
"Ryse- published by MS, wouldn't have existed otherwise"
"Dead Rising- published by MS, wouldn't have existed otherwise "
The same applies to Sony and SF:V.
"Titanfall - New franchise, by and indie dev (just like No Mans Sky"
Really, man? So now you're going to try to paint Titanfall as an indie comparable to No ...
1) Obviously the petitions didn't work. Now that the 3rd party landscape is what it is, why should Sony gamers be any more obligated to speak up than Xbox fans who didn't protest in their favor over TR?
2) The 3rd party landscape being what it is, why would Sony gamers get mad at Sony for securing them a 3rd party which could have been scooped up by the competition, who has demonstrated a eagerness to do so.
3) This isn't even parallel to TR. Thi...
SF isn't story driven like TR. Fighting games in general are known for crappy to nonexistent stories. Unlike SF the overwhelming majority of the TR fanbase was abandoned by this deal, which is why there was so much uproar: they pissed off a larger portion of their fanbase. TR was a dying franchise until Square appealed to the fans to support another reboot, which they then said wasn't profitable enough and went to the well one more time with the definitive editions, which sold about t...
