@Lev1903
"Saying that you won't engage in a personal attack is a strange thing to say BTW."
Not strange at all. I could have easily just called you a simpleton and been done with it, but for the sake of attacking the argument, and the logic behind it, rather than the person, I didn't go that route. You do make it hard, though, when you intentionally frame your argument in a reductive way.

"PS4 has more games now but their collective quality is questionable at best."
Disclaimer: Any Xbox fan reading this who isn't a fanboy, don't read beyond this point. I don't want to hurt feelings, but Illusive_Man's comment does beg a response.
There's no point in talking about new franchises that haven't even shown us much yet, so we can't make a quality judgement there. Fable is a series in decline. Gears—IF it releas...
@Lev1903
I'm not going to engage in personal attacks, so I'll just say this:
Some of you willfully analyze situations through an overly simplified lens. You strive to force comments from the other side, no matter how disparate or nuanced, through the filter of your strawman arguments, so you can cry hypocrisy, driven by some unfathomable need to portray a multi-billion dollar company as a victim of bullying.

Logically speaking, having a stellar holiday in which you gain back a portion of the ground you lost over the year still means you lost ground that year.
An anomaly or a reversal?
Who says it's either? I don't think most people consider it an anomaly that systems push more units when they slash the price or bundle free games. It's definitely not an anomaly when both those things are done. That doesn't make it a reversal, either. If conditions for both systems stay the same, you may be talking about a reversal in some markets, but even Greenberg isn't claiming to have sold more worldwide.
Didn't Square do it, last weekend?
@breakpad
Edit: Never mind. Too late.
Funny enough, your comment segues me to my answer to the article's question. I don't mind the response, if the criticism goes beyond simple opinion of the game to personal attacks and/or trying to be a jerk. Respect goes two ways. I'm not a fan of one party being socially compelled to be respectful to someone blatantly disrespecting them.
@AngelicIceDiamond
If you hadn't come with an agenda, you wouldn't have embarrassed yourself, there. Stop trying to find any little opportunity to make blanket statements implying PS fans are hypocrites and you won't have to wipe egg off your face.
"But what's everyone's excuse for Sony then if that's the case? Do they not have enough 'exclusives' no that can't be the case."
Let's look at th...
@Concertoine
That's kind of what Capcom does. You do realize they didn't just jump from SFII to Thrid Strike, right? Your argument seems to be relying on that falsehood. Third Strike suffered from gutting most of the roster, though the quality of the game was still up to standards.
@AngelicIceDiamond
No. SF is THE game to have in the fighting genre. There are fighters I personally like better (probably because I'm not as good at ...
"Actually 8 million is more people than Xbox ones sold. So the number must be quite substantial."
And if even 1/16 of them buy a PS4 to get their SF fix, that's a problem for a system desperately trying to play catch-up.
@AngelicIceDiamond
"People made that exact same argument with Tomb Raider why isn't it valid here?"
Uh... because:
1) Considering neither the Wii nor the Wii U ever even received SFIV it's unlikely that it would receive the more demanding SFV, which isn't even releasing on PS3.
2) Because there are way more PS TR fans, alone, than Xbox TR fans, before even factoring in PC fans, and Square decided to cu...
I don't see how you reconcile your first and second clauses. Some people are too sensitive? You mean like the dev who makes a living by releasing content for public consumption who hasn't grown a thick enough skin to handle criticism without engaging in collective punishment as a way to teach critics a lesson?
People shouldn't have internet because an oversensitive dev, who you would think knows how to handle criticism by now, reacts to negative feedback of a new character from a small portion of fans by opting to teach them a lesson by implementing mass punishment upon the wider fanbase, even after others came forward to say they like the character? And you actually have people running to stroke this guy's ego by signing a petition to bring the character back?

"I didn't see these articles when Sony money hatted No Man's Sky"
No Man's Sky? Is that one of those indies the Xbox community suddenly doesn't want, which has given rise to the "Indiestation" joke? Seriously? An indie which has a hard enough time getting onto one console at a time, let alone going multiplat? I don't think you want to go there. 360 started with the indies. Xbox would still have a strong presence in that area if not for ...
@DLConspiracy
Yes, the deal most comparable to SF is the Dead Rising deal. However, it is remiss to put out an article about how SF proves 3rd party exclusives are dumb after turning a blind eye to the fact that Xbox's AAA retail lineup has been held up by an unprecedented proportion of 3rd party exclusives announced before the system even released.
I think you need to reevaluate your understanding of what passive aggressive is. I was pretty direct in th...
But his argument directly addressed a falsehood contained within the article. As far as VG, they've demonstrated which way their bias slants, so the true numbers probably strengthen the argument.
To insomnium2's point, SF5 proves console exclusives are dumb? Really? TR didn't do that? Better yet, the announcement of 3rd party exclusives Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, and Dead Rising 3, before Xbox even released, didn't do that? You can't wait until th...
@insomnium2
Funny, isn't it? I didn't see any of these articles, over a year ago, when Xbox announced Titanfall, Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, and Dead Rising 3 as exclusives, before the system even released.
@marlin
Mass Effect immediately comes to mind. There's a difference between MS being the publisher of a game on MS platforms and MS being the EXCLUSIVE publisher of a game. I wouldn't expect MS to be the publisher of a PS TR release.
"Theyve said its a exclusive that has a duration, why say more? Why let people know how long theyll have to wait or what other platforms it may come to?"
That's my point. If it's a cons...
"Just don't group everyone up into one collective fanboy or moron. That's all I'm trying to say."
Agreed, but the criticism is well deserved, as Danzo's list is padded with indies and said to mock the claim that MS won't have as many games. That only comes close to working if not counting PS indies.
