EA access does not represent my interests as a consumer. It's nothing more than a greedy attempt to cash in on the success of subscription services, like PS+.

1) It would dilute the number of titles available on PS+.

2) It would require a separate subscription, more costly than PS+, for much less content.

3) Much of that content is yearly franchises, rendering those games obsolete within short time, after appearing on Access.

"Let's take a example. A PS4 game 'offered' with PS+, Injustice: Gods Among Us, is at this moment 3,49€ at Steam... where you keep your game forever."

In the US, Steam is offering Injustice, on sale, for $9.99. It was $4.99, but I think that was a flash sale. Let's go with $4.99 for the sake of argument. I bought the same edition of the game on PS4 for $8.40 with PS+—back in July.

"Let's get something strait. PS+ is a rentin...

Oh, so you wrote that click-bait trash? Try adopting some journalistic standards and people might read your article.

"If you still think my opinion is BS well then fine. But at least read the thing first."

As a PS+ subscriber who happens to be at least functional at this little thing we call "arithmetic," I can immediately tell that your ask-a-question-and-immediately -answer-it headline is click-bait BS without further need to explore th...

I call click-bait where I see it. This isn't click-bait. It's a sign that some of us probably need to become more engaged readers.

"That's saying there was a record week in Japan and could easily mean..."

And stop. Could it mean that? The sentence permits that possibility, but all it's definitively telling you is that the PS4 achieved a certain amount of sales after a record week. Any interpretation beyond that is really the reader's fault.

@HiddenMission

Did you then request to speak to a manager (and maybe even that manager's manager), threaten to file a suit and threaten to file a complaint (if in the US) with the Better Business Bureau?

I'm not trying to be smart. I'm just not a fan of people thinking they have to roll over and comply with a company's policy. These policies are often inconsistent with the law and are more effective in convincing frustrated individuals that th...

Or I did not go searching it out. Am I denying your "several comments?" No. What I'm saying is that social justice causes aren't what's gotten the game this big of a backlash.

Thank you. Do people think Nintendo, Sony, and MS let anything on their systems, so long as it has a publisher?

@Gangsta_Red

You get it. I get it. Unfortunately, many other gamers want to turn this into an issue of free speech and rights. Depending on the country, you have freedom of speech. That does not mean you are guaranteed a platform for that speech. In this very thread we have people claiming someone doesn't have the right to say the game should be banned. According to what law? There's a distinction between what someone thinks is right and what rights someone has. It...

"I and friends did so as a show of support for them not to cave into the puritanical tropes and SJW imbeciles."

The backlash against Hatred, at least from what I've seen, doesn't really have anything to do with social justice. Let's not just throw complaints we dismiss about a game into the broad category of "social justice."

Here's my take on Hatred. I don't like it. I think it's glorifyin...

I think most Sony fans just get upset when people like yourself try to police what they say, telling them not to call a spade a spade, solely to protect the image of a multi-billion dollar company.

While I think it's good business, I also think it's desperate, so I read the article to see why it says it isn't. Turns out the article even describes Xbox's situation as "desperate," but for some reason you can't apply that label to these price cuts....

"Microsoft had a huge hole to dig themselves out of, and for everyone calling it bad business, what's your solution then?"

I think it's a good solution, at this point. It's not optimal. It's taking a bigger risk upfront to jump-start the base and hope to make up for it on the back end, but it makes sense for where they're at. It's also desperate, which is what the article is talking about.

Why the need to play word police? The situation is what it is. I get where you're coming from. When I grabbed a BF deal on my Vita, a few years ago, I didn't hesitate because Sony was doing it out of desperation. I also didn't get upset or whine in an article because someone called the situation what it was.

Your "who cares" is being directed to the wrong people. Why does the writer care that people are describing the situation as desperate, especially ...

Such a great plan it makes you wonder why they waited until getting stomped in sales to do it. They have so much money to blow it makes you wonder why they didn't just take the hit on the price drop, earlier in the year, instead of de-bundling a piece of tech they had already invested heavily in and were banking on to take over the living room.

He seems to think that logical and desperate are mutually exclusive, even while himself describing the situation as desperate.

I'll agree with the logic of MS move all day long. I even agreed with the logic of the initial price drop in the Uk that had early adopters pissed. Good for fans. The best move to make, right now. Still, desperate.

To put into perspective how desperate the situation is, the gap still grew in Sony's favor. That's after al...

"Even the other big fighting franchises will be effected by this move."

That's an interesting point. The fighting game market isn't exactly overcrowded. There's enough room for everyone at the table and plenty of crossover between fans. Fighting games are going to want to release on the system where fans of the genre are.

That's what I'm a bit worried about. You can almost bank on this being a PS+ game, or come in some form with the new game, once the real deal drops.

FYI: The Xbox One version is on sale, too. it's a penny more at an even $10. PS4 copy is $9.99.

I might grab it for PS4 at that price. Is it worth it, or still pretty much a money grab, at that price?

Update: Nevermind Xbox players. I just clicked around to see the price on the PS3 and 360 copies, then when I clicked back on the XB1 copy it jumped back to $19.99. Maybe I'm hallucinating, or maybe Amazon screwed up and some people were able to take ad...

@Why o why

It's funny, isn't it? If someone who has made unfavorable predictions about PS agrees with our pre-existing opinion, we're supposed to shift to the opposite opinion, just so we can oppose the person we've deemed as "anti-PS." Otherwise, WE'RE the fanboys.
