It could, I guess. It would make for a weird VR experience, though.
@theFro
I see what you tried to do there: Respond to an "Xbox had no games" argument with a "PS4 had no GOOD games" argument. That trick is well past its expiration date.
P.S. Niche titles, being niche titles, don't have mass market appeal. Why would you dedicate precious holiday ad time to a niche title? However, a solid library of niche titles gives the gaming system broader appeal. Just look at the sales history.
"I like my list - I've enjoyed each and every game on it and I played them because they appealed to me..."
Good for you. That those games are appealing is your opinion. Recognize others have opinions, too, and at the end of the day, yours is the minority. Minority opinions aren't compelling evidence that the best selling console's lineup is unappealing.
@poppinslops
Uncharted was scheduled for Holiday 2015. It got delayed into 2016. The Uncharted Collection dominated PS4 ads before these 3rd party focused holiday ones. What do you want? Their 2016 holiday heavy hitter got delayed. Some of you act like we're supposed to ignore everything released up until the holidays and everything (Uncharted included) coming after.
Like being a spectator at the fight, I suppose. I don't imagine it'll be 1st person.
"Not sure why that needed to be brought up."
Why? As established above, your whole basis for implying Japan is prejudiced against foreign consoles is their dislike of a single brand, Xbox. A brand, as Famous notes, which actually isn't that popular in too many places outside of America. But let's not be mature about it. Let's run with a "the Japanese are just being prejudiced" angle.
So, Xbox consoles. Do you see how ridiculous and whiny you sound? Japan doesn't like this one brand of American game console. It must be some form of prejudice!
And there are more serious things happening in this world for me to muster a shred of sympathy for you feeling your favorite toy is discriminated against, or that you yourself are a victim of this site you choose to keep coming back to and commenting on. I guess you also forgot how to keep it moving if you hate i...
Which outside gaming consoles?
@Christopher
You have the power to mark them down. More benign comments get bubbled down. These "I can't stand subject X so much I not only clicked on the link but chose to comment and tell everyone how they're the immature ones for caring" are textbook trolling to derail conversation.
Update: And I say that as someone who could easily gain more bubbles by countering the absurdity of such posts, with simple logic, than if you collapse them ...
Can you substantiate any of the wild claims you just made?
1) "I think you're too invested in this..."
2) "Take a step back and see that what you're complaining about isn't actually what Microsoft have said."
3) "The media are the ones that make most of these articles, but you then go on to say it's microsoft moving goalposts." (Technically true. The media does create the articles, and I have comp...
1) We're allowed to take interest in how the industry is doing. I love how the new expectation this gen is for everyone to retreat to their separate corners so fragile people, overly committed to a brand, don't catch hurt feelings.
2) Playing your violin would be more justified if the Xbox division and Xbox owners weren't trying to engage in the console war. Moving the goalpost from total sales, North American sales, multiplat performance, etc. to a position arbi...
"They're killing it in the U.S. compared to last generation..."
Are they really? Their stance doesn't align with their rhetoric, on that front. This episode exposes the fallacy of trying to compete with last gen's sales instead of current gen competitors. Completely different environments.
Do we think XB1 investment, coming off of the 360, was the same as it was for the 360, coming off the OG Xbox? Are we going to forget that last gen o...
@theFro
Spoken like someone who never owned a Saturn or Dreamcast.
@Famous
Last Christmas?
This past July, Greenberg was gloating about beating the PS4 in one region for one week, after E3.
@mozzie
What did any of that petulant retort have to do with the contention that this is a bad practice to engage in with shareholders?
"Between 80+million PS3, and 20+ million PS4s less than 10 million go online."
Check your link. That 7.9 million refers to PS+ subscribers.
@BakPAin
True. But what did that have to do with the point?
"If they were dominating they wouldn't have to drop the price to curtail their competitors products sales and continue to make additional profit. This momentum Xbox is having is forcing Sony's hand."
PS2 dominated. PS2 had it's first North American price cut 17 months after it debuted there. PS4 took 23 months for its first price cut. PS2's price drop was $100, 1/3 of total cost. PS4's price drop is $50, 1/8 total cost. Any questions?
Why are you even worried about someone's opinion on PS4 sales, after posting this above?
"Well said @343 to me many PS fanboys worried about MS sales instead of enjoying the games. Loved the PS3 era fans they spilled nonsense every month but were more humble and less hypocritical."
And if it was made in America, it was probably made by prisoners.
