The new Connor is more beefy, but while I like his new outfit more, I prefer this older version where his build was thinner and more agile. It feels like they tried too hard to hammer home the "MMA fighter" look with the new build.

Yeah, I can't wait to play Dishonored, but I think Arkane definitely dropped the ball when they chose not to include a NG+ mode.

There's never a good reason for preventing players from replaying a game how they want to play.

That headline is a bit misleading.

To clarify: There is no New Game+ mode, but repeat playthroughs may open more options since you'll have a better grasp of the levels and your abilities.

Also, horror is not the main focus of the game, but that's not to say that there won't be plenty of suspense.

RE5 at least had fewer QTEs and cutscenes, plus no broken cover system or annoying pill popping to recover each unit of health.

Honestly, RE5 is a better game than RE6 in almost every respect.

Right.

But the team that made Revelations actually did a great job.

Since it's unlikely that Mikami is coming back, they should axe the main RE team and give the 3DS team enough funding to take the lead for the next numbered entry.

Next week will be awesome with this and Dishonored.

Civ Rev convinced me that Firaxis is perfectly capable of doing turn-based strategy right on the consoles, so XCOM should deliver the goods regardless of which platform you play it on.

You can tell this guy has probably never put much time into previous Halo games if he thinks nothing has changed.

Yes, Halo 4 still feels like a Halo game, but there's a ton here to set this entry apart. The multiplayer already looks vastly improved from Reach.

"I did find at times you could get easily over powered by the guards. This may have been in part to me not fully embracing the magic system the game has to offer – I also think maybe the game will be a little unforgiving of simple mistakes. Also at times the game seemed a little slow in pace and not signpost clearly your route of travel."

That all sounds wonderful to me :)

Thank God at least one game this season won't hold your hand the...

But did you actually buy that Kratos cared about Pandora (or anyone)?

The redemption scenario seemed pretty forced to me, especially after how needlessly brutal he is to characters that aren't even a threat to him during the first 2/3rds of the game. His sudden change of heart simply felt out of character.

I enjoyed GOW3's gameplay (although again, the first half was stronger than the conclusion), but it didn't do wonders for Kratos in the ch...

This will be a case of "read the review, not the score".

Players who don't mind the action-heavy slant of the new games seem to be enjoying it (although even they seem to dislike Chris' campaign), while fans who were hoping for a bit more horror are not happy.

I replayed this a few years back and definitely still enjoyed it. The music alone gets my blood pumping!

Yeah, we may not be "happy", but we've resigned ourselves to the EA effect.

Ah yes, the past.

I think we can all recall that age when we had to deal with dragons and restless undead warriors and rely on some dude with magical shouting powers.

T'was an important part of our history.

Snipers have always killed with 1 headshot.

The Binary Rifle has a higher zoom, but mostly works much like any other sniper rifle.

I agree that ME2 was more character driven, but while the loyalty missions were well done, the main plot unfortunately suffered.

ME2 is still a great game. The combat was clearly improved from the original, but the plot felt more like a collection of side quests than a single epic adventure.

I'm also very interested to hear whether this includes all the dlc packs. Especially on PS3, cramming everying onto the disk shouldn't be a problem.

There are over 80 map variants, and to a large degree, which maps you'll see during a single playthrough and what enemies will be on them is randomized, so the game will still have a ton of replay value.

Eh, whatever makes them happy. I prefer to take my time and soak up the atmosphere of a game, but if someone else prefers speed runs or trying to top the leaderboards, etc., then more power to them.

Just try not to damage your health. Even if a game you've been waiting for just released, it's still important to get a little exercise every day.

1) Dishonored
2) Halo 4
3) Hitman
4) XCOM
5) AC3

...But some of those will probably go on the backlog, as Borderlands 2 will keep me busy for a while.
