MP only, online only games become useless as soon as server support stops. Even MP focused games like the Division that have rudimentary SP modes but still force you online have the same fate, they expire. If I am going to only basically rent a game it should be cheaper.
That is a copout. Many games this gen are no more complex than games of last gen. The major difference is just better graphics. Using a Bugthesda game is not a good example. Morrowind on the original Xbox was a bug-bomb.
I had al lot of X360 games that didn't need any patches. This gen every single game is shipped unfinished and broken requiring multiple patches. Devs just know they can send out broken games and use the internet as a crutch. This will haunt gamers in...
So basically you guys like paying full price for DRM filled digital games that you don't really own, or worse streaming games that stop as soon as you play them once. Wait until they start pulling games down and you lose them. I can play an old N64 game if I want, digital only games will disappear when the digital overlords say it does, not you. What advantage is there? just the ability to be lazy and not have to change a disc? No thanks I don't like Big Brother controlling my game...
People also whine that these consoles are underpowered. You want cheap you got cheap.
It would be much better to pay more and get quality VR than get cheap junk that gives you headaches. If you can't afford it it is not for you then. I can't afford a mansion, so I don't have one.
BTW you don't need to be "filthy rich" for even a $600.00 item. Just save up if you have to or pass. Most people complaining probably spend much more t...
Except the PS4 (and the xbone for that matter). People complain that these consoles are underpowered with netbook grade slow CPUs and low end GPUs. Well they are cheap, that is what you guys wanted so I don't want to hear about it. Gamers (console mainly) seem to want a high end PC caliber console but only want to pay $199. This is the real world, it doesn't work that way. When the PS3 came out people moaned about the price even though it had quality in that it included Blu-ray. ...
You get what you pay for. Sure the Sony may be cheaper but it will be lower quality. What do you want something decent or cheap crap?
@kenwonobi
Here is what you miss:
For SALES: PS4>X1 BUT X1+PC>PS4.
When DX12 development becomes the norm on PC and X1 there will be way more machines running DX12, it won't even be close due to PC. Sony's best hope is that their SDK allows for EASY and *efficient* converting of DX12 equivalents to their API. Otherwise being the odd man out never works well.
For the record I don't like that scenario, I thi...
I liked the story in The Order, until it just stopped and credits rolled. It was like reading half a novel then just stopping, where was the ending? It almost felt like they only finished half the game then shipped it before finishing the other half.
So have these modern warfare types, that is all there is now. I guess that is fine for MP focused games.
There are no WW2 shooters on the current gen with a good campaign. It would be nice to have a few. These would be more SP oriented as the campaigns would have historical stories that give the feel of the times.
What I see happening is because when you add up all of the PCs plus the X1 base devs will all move over to games development with DX12 in mind and optimize for that. The PS4 will get unoptimized ports that underutilize the better GPU. It will become the oddball again like the PS3 cell was last gen. We saw how that worked out, X360 games almost always ran better. At best most DX12 games will run the same on PS4 at worst they will perform worse like Mad Max did. It has nothing to do with ha...
@Gamer4News
Do you seriously think that they will rewrite Tomb Raider to use more CUs on the PS4? I don't, that would be WORK. I would bet it will be a quick sloppy port, we will be lucky if it runs as good as the X1 version. Now It COULD be better but you know those publishers, get it out for as little effort possible.
It wouldn't matter if PS4 versions were much better than they were on X1 you would still buy it on X1. You picked your favorite and that is that. I have seen games on both and the better resolution and many times better foliage or lighting makes the PS4 the version for me. I don't play UIs or communities I play games.
DX12 is just a software upgrade it can't make a weaker GPU more powerful than a stronger one. What may happen to your advantage is that devs bei...
@ Rookie
Most of your "facts" come from online MP games. What if I hate online MP? Most of your "winning titles" go down for the count for me.
Halo 5 had a crap SP campaign. Your fact of H5 winning over Bloodborne is pure bollocks to me because I play SP games, and H5's sucked. I liked KZ better than the later Halo games because of the longer SP. MP is better on Halo but again if you don't do MP it changes things.

Yeah just wait until Xbox two when they bring back always online DRM and digital only distribution. People don't understand that MS are control freaks, they want to have their paws all over your junk. They want to control every aspect and be watching you online as much as they can.
Look close at your title Septic:
"Xbox One beats PS4 Three Holiday Seasons in a Row"
That is a factual statement, like water is wet.
I don't see any opinion there. It is a clickbait title to get website clicks. I can see why it brings on a flamewar.
What if I posted an article that made a statement "Xbox one sucks"? What reaction would that get?
Maybe he needs to rename the site the "Fox Games Channel".
The X1 has won something. It won the "Current gen console least likely to have games run at 1080p".
See, it is the undisputed champ for that title.
I liked the campaign of KZSF better than all of the Halo games except the first one. To me the first Halo on Xbox had a great campaign. It was a decent length, had a cool story and style. All of the others were very short and lackluster. I played them all on the X360 including the remake of the first so it is not like I never played Halo. The only one I passed on was 5 because it was said to have a crap campaign. After the first Halo they put all of their resources into the online MP. Th...
The Xbone wins the "Current gen console having the most games unable to run at 1080p".
It wins that hands down, no contest. See sometimes the xbone wins in something and it is pure fact.
There seem to be much more of them. There are even some that do have some basic SP modes like Need for Speed and The Division but still require you to be online even if playing solo. That is inexcusable. This only insures they can decide for you when you can't play "your" game anymore by shutting down server support for it. People went nuclear over the X1 DRM but this is even worse.
