It is no feat getting the xbone version to 1080p, it pays the price in stuttering and choppy framerate.
The lead platform was xbone for some reason where they optimized for that then lazy ported it to the more powerful PS4 and PC.
There is no gap narrowing, it is in your mind. If it took advantage of the other systems the gap would be bigger.

It was said that the xbone was the lead platform and then ported to everything else. Since they got it running at 1080p on the xbone they had to gimp the graphics for the weak GPU they have in there. So the PS4 suffers a little from the parity as they aren't using any of the better GPU features, and the PC really gets the shaft as you get xbone graphics in higher res.
Parity sucks.
It could be that the xbone was the lead platform because MS has this relationship with them. Since it was optimized for that then ported to the PS4 it really isn't using any of the PS4 GPU advantages. When doing a straigt port the xbone will be smoother because they overclocked the CPU on the xbone to be slightly faster.
I don't think it matters, they went for parity on this one. Both are 1080p 30 FPS. They probably gimped the PS4 version because they have this butt-kiss relationship with MS.
Will come down to controller preference.

It was between the console versions. The article said if you have a PC that is where you will play it.
Since Bethesda went for pure graphical parity and gimped the PS4 version there is no advantage to the PS4 version like there is with most other multiplatform games.
I am afraid too. I am afraid that after 100 hours one of Bethesda's inevitable BUGS will nuke my save game files or stealth corrupt them and make me have to start over. I am afraid that a bunch of quests will sit there unfinished because they are BROKEN and not able to be finished. I am afraid of numerous freezes, glitches, and crashes on PS4.
Seriously these games can be good but their QC is just terrible. I could not even finish the main quest in FO3 on the 360 afte...
Good, then I can wait and get the FO4 GOTY edition with all of the DLC and bugfixes on the disc instead of being in patch hell with the inevitable broken buggy mess filled with game breaking, save corrupting glitches.
You guys can be the beta testers, I will buy the finished version.
Well except that not all shooters are only played online and some people play shooters single player. I know it sounds strange but there are allot of SP campaigns on many shooters. Sure a big part of these are played online but not all have to be.
With most X1 shooters running in lower resolution that can make targets at a distance harder to make out due to the lack of detail. That certainly is a minus for X1.

Neither will Xbone. What they have is not true native BC. True native BC is you put in ANY disc online or NOT and it just works, like when the Ps2 played all PS1 games. Not this need to go online to download select digital only X360 games that were recompiled for the Xbone. It is a kludge and is more for marketing than anything else.
I wish they would give an option to shut off that graphics ruining chromatic aberration that they have cranked to 11. Anything not right in the center of the screen is a blurry color fringed mess, gives me a headache.
I would have bought a Skyrim remaster with all DLC and bugfixes on disc for the PS4 instead of this crap.
Hines excuse as to why Skyrim won't be remade for the new consoles is super LAME. To paraphrase: "Well you have ESO, no need for Skyrim on new gen consoles". Well except that ESO is an always online MMO and Skyrim is a single player action RPG. Big difference and I want the single player experience.
The PS4 GPU *IS* more powerful, just look at the specs. More shaders, more CUs, more ROPs etc. It is just a fact. You may not care one way or the other but that doesn't negate the facts.
No it is MSs fault for skimping on the GPU and putting a weaker one in the xbone.
Fanboy damage control. It is the "you can't tell the difference" dodge. Well not everyone is you and I for one CAN tell the difference between native 1080p and some sub-full HD res.
I may not be able to tell on some compressed video but on my TV, I can always tell.
Yet it will look the same on PS4 and xbone (bad), artificial parity confirmed.
Well you can't upgrade weaker GPU hardware with software. DX5000 would not make an Xbone GPU as powerful as the one in the PS4 so not surprising.
I don't know, I spend hours playing GAMES not UIs. I am in a UI for the 5 seconds it takes to load the game. So do I want 5 seconds of flashy UI and 40 hours of low res game graphics? No, that would be dumb.
Controller maybe, until you realize you can get controller adapters.

That is what we get this generation as studios rush out unfinished junk when it is not ready and honestly is probably 6 months to a year from being a finished game.
Yet everyone pre-orders and laps this up. Because of that nothing will get better, only worse. Gamers should blame themselves as we put up with this crap and even encourage it with pre-orders.
