Too bad I was hoping for the finished version of DC on disc. Now the retail copy is just basically an unfinished demo with no weather etc. It is basically a digital only game with most of the content released online only. Oh well I am not big on racers anyway.
Except not everyone likes or plays online MP games. If the SP part of this is short and gimped just for MP that would be a big disappointment.
MP games are basically all the same re-skinned with different graphics and "maps". In one you are Master Chief, another an Uncharted character, another a Space Marine etc. In the end all you do is the same run around, cuss, shoot, respawn, yawn. Then eventually the servers are shut down (or no one is there) and you don'...
That is bull. If the "lesser hardware" is the only one available they are already "gimping" it to run on it, you just don't know it as there is nothing to compare it to. All a slightly better hardware version would do is maybe allow slightly better LOD a bit better frame rate and in cases where the game needs to drop to 900P on PS4, the PS4.5 could run it at full 1080p. It is not like they would be upgrading character models, textures, environments, etc.

So lock the settings for online games/modes to be the same across all console versions, problem solved.
For single player games use the full power available whatever it is, done.
So you think it is ok to deny the OPTION for those who may want to get a slightly better image and maybe frame rate on the same games just for your personal psychological comfort in knowing that there is not a better version out? Is you and your personal satisfaction more important than other's desire for a console that doesn't have stagnant hardware for 8 years? It isn't. The ones who think it is are those that can't afford to buy the new version and want the psychological comfort in knowing that there isn't a better version available than what they now have. It is pretty self-centered to want to deny those who may want to upgrade just to make themselves feel better in their brains.
These consoles are already showing their age and seem underpowered with games struggling to even match average PCs on medium settings.
I am going to try it for sure. I can also imagine what it would be like to smoke some weed and do VR. Not that I have ever done anything like that, VR isn't out yet...
Being sold at a profit is even worse, it means the quality is even worse. Not only is the resolution much lower than the others but at that price the lenses will be plastic junk. I have seen cheap VR solutions before, anything not directly in the center gets distorted and blurry. If you always look at objects directly in front of you it is ok but just don't look at anything to the side or it is headache city.
What is it that people only care about price? How much is it? it is too expensive, it is cheaper than Rift but still too much, with accessories it is to much blah blah.
Doesn't anyone care about quality? What good would be a $99 piece of junk with blurry optics that only is successful in giving you a headache? I swear either people are willing to sacrifice quality and get garbage to save a few bucks now, or unrealistically expect super high quality for super low price ...

They will lose some sales with the online requirement but they don't care. I won't buy it due to the requirement as I don't like MP and as such don't waste my money on a PSN+ subscription.

The problem is that this games REQUIRES an internet connection even if playing SP. To me that is unacceptable. If a game gives a SP option it should also give an offline option. This way you can still play if you are not online, do not subscribe to PSN+ or Live, and can play when the servers are down for whatever reason.

If more powerful the main difference would be games running at a higher frame rate and/or resolution. So for some things it may be 900P X1 and 1080P PS4 both at 30 FPS and NX at 1080p 60 FPS. Not major but that could happen.
That doesn't make much sense. You are going to give up gaming if they require a connection unless it is streaming which requires an even better connection (and is even MORE susceptible to outages and traffic).

It will set a trend if we go for it. Everyone acts like we are powerless and when they do these things there is nothing we can do. They act like publishers put guns to their head and make them buy season passes and dlc. Well we can do nothing, as in buying nothing as far as these season passes or dlc.
As long as people keep buying these "season passes" they will continue to gouge for them. They will also limit content from the original games to make them shorter and goad you into buying the rest of the game later for more. Their goal now is over $100.00 per game. It is up to us to go along with it or not. That is what I will do. I have the current one, when I beat it I will put it away or sell it and forget about it. When the GOTY version comes out I will buy the disc for that used and own it with bugfixes, DLC, and all.
Microsoft can they are insanely rich. Sony not so much. The Xbox should have been a beast but ended up being the weakest, go figure.

What happens if you upgrade your GPU on a PC to a better version? You can up some settings like LOD, shadows and maybe frame rate. That is about it. It doesn't suddenly make the same game "run like crap" on older PCs it runs the same. The upgraded PS will likely be the same situation especially since it uses PC standard hardware.
I don't think Sony wants to push anything on us they just want to stay competitive since PC is light y...
