Uncharted 4 shows how underpowered the PS4 is. If it wasn't it would run UC4 at 60 FPS on the SP and a full 1080p in MP. If it was upgraded to run on the Neo it would be 1080p, 60 FPS.
It isn't a "cash grab" because you aren't forced to buy it.

You can get PS1 emulators on anything from the PC to tablets and cellphones. I have the Crash games on my Nvidia Shield portable it is no big deal. Simple searching will find the game ROMs (though that is not really legal) or if you own the games from PS1 you can dump your discs to a file for play on the emulator.

But isn't QB only 720p? That right there makes UC4 much sharper graphically. The resolution of UC4 is more than DOUBLE that of QB.
That isn't Remedy's fault it is the hardware.
That means most xbone games don't even look as good as an up rezed PS3 game because most all multiplatform games look/run better on the PS4.

Why chime in, you just said it but I will add... Textures, LOD, Shadows, dynamic lighting, AA, HBAO, Anisotropic filtering, tessellation, frame rate (30 FPS for UC4 meh, low end), resolution, particles, PhysX, and more all better on medium and higher end PC.
Consoles are WEAK graphically. ND did a good job at getting an outdated GPU and low end anemic dog-slow tablet CPU to do what this game does. Imagine what they could do with a high end PC, it would look real. This ...
Until graphics look photo real, have no pop up, run at 60 FPS or more, then there will always be room for better hardware. A high end PC crushes the PS4 in power and will still crush the Neo. There is always room for improvement. I would buy a PS4 Neo DX + for $1000.00 if it was equivalent to a high end PC.

Not really but the NEO will be...take this game and run it at 60 FPS THEN you have something. I can't wait for Neo.
That is what APIs and libraries are for. PC developers don't make a separate version for every configuration of PC. They make a base version and PC users can bump up specs as much as they can for their hardware.

BTW the Xbox 360 was released originally with a divided fanbase. You had one version with a HDD and one cheaper version without. The one with the HDD had options and loading speed the disc only users didn't. I guess it is ok if MS does it.
1440p is useless on a console because there are no 1440p TVs. It is not an even multiple of 1080 or 4K either and fractional scaling produces ugly artifacts and blur. They would be better off with full 1080p and better antialiasing.
And the neo would run that game at 60 FPS with NO graphics downgrade. That is why we need the Neo (also because the NX is going to crush the PS4 in power and may even be still more powerful than the Neo).

1440p would be pointless on a console, there are no 1440p TVs. You either have 1080p or 4K, that is it. 1440p is not an even integer scale meaning bad artifacts and filter blur. Native 1080p and using the extra power for better antialiasing would look better than 1440p.

Sony is taking into account that there is a more powerful NX and possible Xbox One.5 coming and they don't want to be left out with the weakest console.

This is why they moved away from proprietary hardware like Cell, Power PC etc. This gen was transitional. With PC type hardware they can now basically upgrade the power and have full BC like the PC. There may never be a "PS5", but instead we will have incremental updates every few years. That is fine by me, no more rebuying game libraries every time a new console releases, now all of my old games will still work, and new ones will look better.

Plus Uncharted 4 only runs at 30 FPS in SP, and MP is only 900p. To me that proves the PS4 does NOT have the power, if It did it would look as good as it does now but be a full 1080p AND 60 FPS for both MP and SP. Neo would make that possible. Simple logic shows the Neo IS needed.
