Some of us would like to actually own our favorite movies and not just rent them (streaming is also the ultimate DRM, as you can own nothing). Then you have the crap quality of streaming, and internet data caps. It kind of is illogical to buy a 4K TV to get better image quality, then feed it low image quality streaming. Streaming is no replacement for everyone. Poor cop-out by Sony.

Yeah looks fantastic, for a PS3 game. Definitely looks like they just used PS3 assets. Too bad they didn't upgrade the textures to look like something from this decade.

It depends. I wouldn't want games at 720p. The best condition is that it evenly matches your TV resolution so you don't get blurry filter artifacts from non integer stretching. I would rather have 1080p at 60 fps than 4k at 30 though.
Yes if you downgrade the rest of the graphics. Just give me 1080p with better frame rate and maybe better draw distance and I will be happy.

The cost of an UHD drive is negligible. Sony makes them and they could give themselves a good deal on them. It would add what $20 to the cost? If that is too much for you than either get a job or give up gaming.

8K LOL. Seriously don't worry about 8k, it is just a number. As pixel sizes get smaller it is harder to see a difference unless the TV is huge and you sit real close. If you sit at a kind of normal distance the higher res you go it is diminishing returns. If you can't make out individual pixels or see SDE than going even smaller is pointless. Even the difference between 1080p and 4k is not dramatic if you sit far enough back. HDR will be much more noticeable than res.
Because it is weaksauce. Same crappy Jag CPU, same RAM, no UHD disc (STFU about streaming, it is crap bitrate, and requires fast cap-less always online connection not everyone has). It is a weak upgrade that can hardly be called "Pro". It is touting "4K" but isn't. It won't play 4K discs, and games are only pseudo 4K due to some lame upscaling tricks.
Sorry but streaming sucks. The quality is worse, it blows your data cap in places that have one, it has issues with internet traffic, you need a good fast connection, you can't watch a movie offline, you can't own a movie you like, content is taken out of streams etc. Streaming is a crappy replacement for the better quality of a disc. Not everyone is blind and can't tell the difference, many can.

No. These drives are not forward compatible. UHD has different hardware to read higher density discs.
The beginning of the end for Sony. This and their release of the "Pro" with no UHD blu-ray and can't even run games any smoother than PS4 like ME Andromeda at only 1080p 30 FPS. What happened over there?
