And what happens when your HDD fails or you upgrade consoles? Downloading 1 TB of games is going to take forever and many have monthly data limits.
Disc games install MUCH faster. If I want to re-play something I once removed for space I can be playing in a couple of minutes (PS4) instead of many hours.

Not everyone likes the hassle, cost, online DRM, and ergonomics of a PC (KB/M control). That is a fanboy argument. Most who like the PC ecosystem have already gone PC. The Scorpio will appeal to console gamers who want the BEST versions of multi-plat games, not graphically downgraded Neo versions.
If you can put in any xbox one disc and it plays, then it is not a new generation console. The PS4 is new gen over the PS3 because the games aren't compatible, same with Xbox one and 360, THOSE are different gen(the X1 "BC" thing really isn't the same, all games don't work and NO disc works natively without downloading the re-compiled ones online).
The slims are "new consoles" too but not a new gen.
I am a big PS4 fanboy this gen due to the extra power. Probably. Facts are facts. The fact is the xbone has a weaker GPU. No API will upgrade the hardware magically to match the stronger one. If Scorpio is more powerful then it is, and no amount of Neo "secret sauce" will be able to close the gap there either. The xbone is weak now, and the Neo will be the weak one next year.
And if the developer puts in the same amount of extra work the PS4 will pull ahead again in other areas like frame rate or effects. The stronger hardware will always be able to do more. It is like a faster more powerful car will always be able to stay ahead of the slower one. You may be able to put a good driver in the slower car and a poor driver in the faster car and get them even but if you also put a good driver in the fast car it will be ahead again.
It will kick in when Scorpio is released. Until then weaker hardware is weaker.

And if you are gaming on consoles then SC doesn't even count as it will never be playable on one, it is PC only.

In this state maybe. As it is it is an unfinished buggy mess. Honestly the game probably had another 6 months of needed development, but they caved into impatient gamers and Sony's shareholders and rushed out an "early access" version sold as complete, big mistake.

Today going gold just means the beta test version has shipped to duplicators and only 5 more patches needed to get the almost finished version. If you have no internet these days you can't play finished games anymore, sad.
