That is not always true. There is not exactly a ton of jobs to choose from for many. When all employers do the same thing, expect more and pay less, there is no where else to go. When all you have is a choice between bad and bad, you get bad. Not everyone has the skills and talent to land a dream job where they love it and are the best and brightest where they can name their benefits/hours. That is great for the top of the top but not everyone can be there.
This year. Scorpio will have all of that and real mods next year and maybe even have better effects.
That sucks. I was waiting for a reason to turn on the X1 and thought this was it (thought Halo 5 was it too until I heard about the crap campaign). As a single player fan and one that is not into online MP there is almost no reason to have an X1 at this point. The X1 is an online centered system it seems, which is ok if you are into that.
The Scorpio sounds great hardware wise too but they better start to get some good SP content as well for me to want to get it.
The secret sauce is called visual downgrade. Downgrade lighting, shadows, LOD, FOV, etc and it is possible.
To me I would rather have boosted visuals and frame rate at 1080p.

Not if the only improvement is 4K. What good is a little crisper edges if it uses the same low res crappy textures and last gen lighting? It is kind of pointless. Better visuals and 60 FPS is MUCH more noticeable.

It may not be a "next gen console" as we think of. That is fine, we really don't need another PS4/Xb1 type system. What is the point of having three systems that basically do the exact same things just with varying levels of power? Something unique will give a reason to buy it as long as it is good and not too gimmicky.
Cost. If you are so poor that you can't afford another $15-$30, half the cost or less of a single game, for a console you will own for years maybe gaming is not for you...

Who cares about sales of physical media. That has NO bearing on quality or merit of it. Yes streaming is popular, because the masses are too lazy to get their fat asses off the couch for 20 seconds to insert a disc and could care less about quality. Popular doesn't equal good. There are some of us that care if the media we view looks good and not like crap. Not everyone has pristine internet connectio...

It should be up to the gamer through an options screen. Not everyone has a 4K TV either. What good will it do them if it is only made to work at 4K 30 FPS and at 1080p you still get 30 FPS?
Besides you would notice better LOD, FOV, lighting, shadows and AO, than you would a bit crisper edges. The smaller the pixel size is it is diminishing returns unless you sit real close like PC gamers do.
With Scorpio you will have the most powerful console.
I liked the PS4 as it was more powerful with better graphics. Things have changed though, sadly for PS Sony has jumped the shark, they will have the weakest systems come next year, and won't even be able to do 4K blu-ray. That is what they get for being cocky.
While I agree with the gist of it the title is dumb. Money is the reason we have games. No money, no games, they don't make games for practice they make them for money.
