Chris Roberts (making SC) said the same thing. NMS is a very impressive technical achievement, specially considering the size of their team.
It's really annoying that almost every article about SC Gamescom presentation (which was amazing, btw) just has to take a jab at No Man's Sky. It's getting old.
SC is very different in almost every respect, including the development situation and funding.
Jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams
I wonder when we're goign to start actually reading the articles before commenting.
No one lied. It was a guy who made a post on reddit and then everyone went crazy real fast including certain gaming cites that like to get a lot of clicks out of this
Then the guy updated his post, confirming that it was just the servers taking time.
The guys discoveries came back after a while. Can we please not be too hasty to bash the game every time ? False information spreads that way.
"Lives were threatened, and people who questioned anything about this game were attacked for 2 years"
Yeah, that's the internet for you :P
4k in the near future would be a massive waste of Scorpio's power. Better go 1080p with insane graphics + AA and all that.
Having okay graphics at 4k is a waste because hardly anyone will have 4k anyway.
I mean, it's kind of hard to not be hyped after that. If all that works properly in 3.0, it's going to be awesome.
This article is not bad, it doesn't bash NMS or anything. It's not like a certain other article with a clickbait title about SC's demo blowing away NMS...
The discussion around many videos and articles talking about SC and NMS is mostly -
"Oh SC absolutely destroys this piece of shit"
"Atleast NMS released, not like this ponzi scheme enjoy getting scammed"
It's just really annoying to see the comment ...
ok that joke is really overused lol
I mean, I know it's been only a couple of days but I've seen that EVERYWHERE xD
Depends on what you call finished. You won't be getting 100 star systems that's for sure, or even close, but that's okay because they've vastly increased the level of detail and complexity, so it's effectively lot more content in one system.
You probably won't have all the professions, but you should have most of them, and definitely the core ones. If they manage to polish it a bit and make it run well by then, it should be a fantastic experience. ...
Exactly. Comparing NMS with SC is really stupid.
This is retarded. Can we not have silly rivalry for no reason ?
If 3.0 releases in a proper working state, it might be one of the most amazing game experiences even at this stage.
but like you said, that's a big IF. Hopefully they can deliver, because the potential is absolutely mindblowing.
How are you comparing BF1 graphics and this ? Completely different everything lol
"the characters don't look anything special"
show me one mmo that has characters as realistic and detailed as that NPC mission guy.
"Looks Decent and that is all"
So you're not at all impressed by anything apart from the visuals ? I mean... I don't know but I thought there were lots of really impressive things about that dem...
You have to go to their website and buy a starter package. For $45 you get access to the multiplayer part (this one). For another $15 ($60 total), you get the Single Player campaign as well.
Remember that this game is still in early stages, still in alpha. You will probably regret buying into it now unless you really don't mind a ton of bugs, instability, frustration etc. Also, right now you can't buy ships in game, and must purchase them with real money. Keep in mi...
Why do we have to bring NMS into this ?
Very long time. It's just how it is... this kind of insane ambition cannot come to fruition with anything less than lots of time and money.
We'll just have to wait and see how 3.0 turns out. If I'm not mistaken, it should contain all the landing zones in Stanton. Imagine those crazy high detailed landing zones, integrated into procedural planets. Then they have trading, cargo hauling, bounty hunting etc. They are also implementing AI system and a mission system ...
Carvatar ? xD
Wasn't it Drivatar or something ?
"It's also far more beautiful"
riiiight ok. I mean, more colour everywhere does not equal more beautiful. Doesn't look very appealing to me on the visual side... making everything colourful doesn't fix that.
I mean, maybe you just like the art style more, but then that's what it is, an art style. To me SC looks amazing, while NMS is disappointing in terms of visuals.
"way more imaginative"
I just don...
