The problem is, that when I bought the Wii U a number of games were committed to in the launch window, and that didn't happen.
A lot of games I actually cancelled orders for (Pikmin 3 comes to mind).
Ambassador program is fair.
Really?
Maybe they just want to eat Sony and MS for lunch?
Lower price point, more games, more innovation, plays your Wii library. Versus .... two more expensive systems that charge you to play online, and can be replaced by a PC.
If I were Nintendo I'd be thrilled these two are coming to market as a lot of purchases have been held off, awaiting final announcements and specs.
I bought a Wii U on release. My ONLY disappointment has been the complete and utter lack of games. Games that were promised, weren't delivered on, and that we are only starting to see now.
Price drop is fine, and I think it makes sense to put some space between the Wii U and the competition. However I feel that they are doing that on the backs of users who purchased a Wii U on release.
..... Ambassador Program for Wii U, Nintendo .... then it's f...
As has my PS3
Battlefiled 4 is the running at the same resolution as Pikmin3 - not bad, but not as good a resolution as the next major titles coming out of Nintendo.
PS4 must be 2008 too then, because Wii U is likely to have more 1080P 60fps games sooner ..
Compare for yourself ..

Compare - 1080p 60fps .... Wii U and PS4 Rayman Legends ...
http://n4g.com/news/1270956...
... so what exactly impresses you? Marketing or trophies?
PS4 and Xbox1 will suffer the same software drought Wii went through. Worse, they have fewer exclusive IPs.
Not to mention ... Nintendo keeps up graphically ... and has a lower cost. The only advantage for PS4/Xbox is trophies and marketing .... isn't enough to entice me. Rayman Legends - 1080p, 60fps .. tell me the difference ...
http://n4g.com/news/1270956... ...
So what games exactly on the PS4/Xbox1 are running 1080p and 60fps? I thought Battlefield 4 would, but ... nope ... only 720p. Runs the same as Pikman 3 - both 720p 60fps.
My understanding is that Nintendo has 4 games to ship at 1080p and 60fps, and they may be the first to do so.
Once those games ship, there is no question Wii U is as Nex-Gen (at lower cost with better exclusive IP) than Xbox1 or PS4.
I suspect (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the Wii U will have the first 1080p 60fps games ...
- Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
- Super Mario 3D World
- Mario Kart 8
- Bayonetta 2
I'm sure the PS4 and Xbox1 are capable of this too but it's interesting that Battlefield 4 is only capable of 720p on the PS4, despite all the noise about PS4 being the only nex-gen. Battlefield 4 runs at the same resolution/fps as Pikm...
I'm counting on the big Summer/Fall update to correct the user account problem.
Nintendo also needs to start treating its online consumers FAIRLY. Nintendo, I'd really like to buy digital, but how do I justify that when retail games cost less. What is more, Nintendo is making less, as the retailer is taking a cut.
Treat digital consumer FAIRLY, Nintendo - or risk losing us.
You mean like this Bayonetta 2 video from E3?
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Yeah - that 1080p at 60fps must have been faked. Dumbass!
And yet ... I'd have paid, and I'd be a PS4 purchaser. But now any buying decision on my part is a couple years out - if ever.
Now I get to look at other systems, since my shelf of PS3 games isn't supported.
When PS4 sales slow in 2014 (as they will, after the initial enthusiast crowd thins, and the inevitable "new console software shortage" hits) maybe Sony will reconsider that $150 option.
Of COURSE it matters. Not to everyone, perhaps, but it matters.
I have a shelf of PS3 games, and I don't really want ANOTHER console around, so I won't be buying a PS4 for the forseeable future. Someday I will, but it will be a while.
And all it takes are a few like me, extrapolate that across the PS3 user base, and you will see why PS4, in spite of all the hype, may not have the sales hoped for initially.
Actually, I believe that over the next 3 years, the Wii U will dominate, and I have reasons for that.
1) Xbox1and PS4 will struggle with software first year while Nintendo will be past that.
2) Fundamental reluctance of PS3 and Xbox users to upgrade when their is no ability to play games library. Who wants ANOTHER console? They will stick to what they have longer, whereas Wii owners have no reason not to upgrade if there is software.
3)Price - I think at som...
@dantesparda
I understand what YOU want. The problem is that most of the audience don't really notice the quantum leap in graphics, and if they already have a library of games, aren't going to drop their current system quickly.
As I said, I have a PS3, and I won't be upgrading for a few years. I don't want that many consoles at one time, and I'm likely not alone in that thought.
Wii U may win this generation (at least in...
Software sales are only for 2 days.
More to the point, look at the relative position of Wii U hardware sales to other systems.
Toukiden was on the Vita. Compare apples and apples, please and pick a console title, not a portable title, if you're trying to say something.
Look at the hardware sales standings. If that translates into the North American Markets, and European markets, it is significant, particularly if that trend continues.
Trend is likely to continue, as PS4 and xbox One will have limited content at start, and a lot of ppl who will not upgrade (I like my PS3 fine, thank you) as there isn't enough reason to shift from previous generations.
I dislike USB2, not because of speed, but because you have to buy drives with an added power adapter. Minor, but it is a nuisance. Speed however is of no issue as wampdog29 correctly pointed out.
More first party games, backward compatibility, lower price point, comes with game, and no online charge to play.
Not worth price? I have a PS3 but it won't be upgraded as I also have a library of games. Next console after Wii U will be a PC ... which will be faster than either Xbox1 or PS4 - which are in effect PCs.
