So any truth to this ... PS+ pricing is moving to $10?

Not really. First we hear about the lower resolutions on Xbox1, then about games not arriving on time, and now ... finally ... the PS4 price increase ...

$10 a month to play online.

One word ..... "Steam".

Not to mention that the Xbox1 and PS4 are just PCs ... and will soon be outclassed.

That is what they say with every launch, and with every launch it is a fail.

I've been saying this for a while - people are getting hyped up about PS4 and Xbox1, and they will find the SAME PROBLEM as the Wii U - lack of AAA titles. Happens every time.

Worse, this generation may end up competing with a Steam Box.

In about 6 months, hardcore games who purchased those systems are going to start whining about lack of software.

Spoken like a person who has no idea that financially Nintendo is far stronger than Sony, and could take losses year after year.

Sony is (unfortunately) in a bit of a make or break situation, financially.

It is amazing how things quickly turn in this industry. PS3 was all but given up for dead - remember?

It is very likely, with onslaught of Wii Sports and Wii Fit U (at bargain pricing), not to mention the games they have in their library like Zelda, Pikimin 3 and Supermario U, that they overtake the "imaginary" lead currently held by the PS4.

I say imaginary, not because PS4 can't be the leader, but it has yet to be proven. Already I hear ab...

1992? I've been at it since .... lemme see ... IBM 1130 with 8K "core" memory, and programmed my own ... early 70s.

I knew EXACTLY what I was buying with the Wii - and I loved it. Then I bought a PS3 ... by that time it had games I liked, and Wii was still used, but much less.

Now I have a Wii U .. guess what ... PS3 is barely used.

Point is I don't see your problem. Nintendo financially stronger then Sony BY FAR, and has...

You forget Wii Fit U. You for get it is free if you buy a fit meter. You forget that there are 2+ million users of the Wii Fit product.

Wikipedia: "Wii Fit is currently the third best selling console game in history (among games not packaged with a console) with 22.67 million copies sold as of March 2012."

So ... you think that a portion of those 22 million might just purchase a Wii U? I do.

They DO have a secret weapon. None of the gaming crowd has ANY concept of how many Wii's sold due to Wii Fit. 22.16 million of Wii Fit alone, were sold.

Now you get free Wii Fit U .... just buy a $19 Fit Meter (and a Wii U).

Yes ... Wii Fit U will likely deliver 2+ million (just 10% of Wii Fit) in new (lower priced) Wii U sales this Christmas.

Wii Fit U for the price of a fit metre ($19). you think that isn't going to sell?

Wii Fit is a proven system seller, and there is a LOT of hardware (Fit Board or whatever it is) already in consumer hands ..... yes, it will sell.

The problem is that the major third party support is going to die off for either Xbox or PS4 - they are the same machine, with same games.

Wii will survive as they have the cash and IP to survive. Wii Fit U will drive sales this December amongst the casual gamers. As sales pick up 3rd party support will too.

Watch.

I think you will see a sales drop-off for PS4 and Xbox1 in January, as systems are returned by those trying to make a fast buck from Xmas consumers.

As for asusomaeabe1998's predictions, they actually are likely to be close (at the bottom end for the Wii U), as Wii U is starting with a base of 4MM - and with Wii Fit U coming out, lower price, more software, Nintendo are going to take their fair share of holiday sales.

For what it is worth, my 7 year old daughter ADORES Zelda Windwaker.

Better yet, she can sit quietly for hours (other than providing advice), just watching.

Ohh ... and she loves Scribblenauts too ... and I'd credit that with making her WANT/NEED to read :)

Does Famitsu record downloads? I don't know about Japan, but there was an incentive to download WindWaker HD here in North America - a 2 week incentive!

Wii U is now getting regular IP, costs less, and doesn't come with a monthly fee.

Worse, the "games that sell the console" are going to be in short supply after the first drop of games for the PS4/Xbox. It will take a year to pick up speed, by which time it is likely that Wii U has pulled further ahead.

Remember two of the biggest all-time sellers (which all the so-called "hardcore" gamers ignore) are Wii Sports and Wii Fit .... both ...

Xbox1 and PS4 are going to have an initial surge due to marketing and initial games release - and then die for a year while Wii U picks up steam.

Speaking of STEAM .... Steam Box is likely to clobber both Xbox1 and PS4 if they get it right. Not Wii U though, given its control schema and exclusive IP.

US sales ... not worldwide sales. UK numbers are also stated to be up.
