I can pull off the basic moves in SF quite easily, it's the combos that mess me up. Then again, I use the analogue stick - the dpad is just that bad.
Have you tried SSF2THDR? I found that the moves were much easier to pull off in that, it seems they made an effort to account for the analogue stick in that game.

Oh that controller was HORRIBLE. It was massive! I've got woman hands, so it was far too big for me. Even the S-pad was a bit daft.

I think the PS pad is pretty good as well, though. I mean it's been around for 15 years now (albeit without the analogue sticks), obviously they got something right. If I could change one thing about that pad, it'd be the "triggers" the SIXAXIS and DS3 use. Make them more...trigger-like. Other than that, it's pretty good, only major hassle ...

Even if this went through, it wouldn't be completely disastrous. Linux has long since moved on from FAT32, there's a plethora of alternative filesystems it supports now. The biggest issue would be things like USB sticks, to which about the only "universal" format these days is FAT32. Still, nothing stopping you installing an NTFS module on *nix, I suppose.

I genuinely think, dpad aside, it's one of the best controllers ever made. Fighting games are about the only area I can think of that it really lets itself down. If they make an awesome dpad, I'll be happy, but I'll be interested in seeing what else they could bring to the table.

It wasn't 0ms, it's just because the graph is in 3D to make it look all fancy. They gave the actual results on the page and it was closer to 1000ms for Safari.

Still, one thing to point out was that they used minefield to test Firefox, which is a little unfair as it's a nightly build and could have had anything wrong with it - debug code and such. They should have either tested it against an official beta or waited for FF 3.1b3 before doing this test. I know Mozilla uses a specia...

You didn't actually read the article, did you? It runs surprisingly well on their machine.

"So what did it feel like to run Windows 7 on a machine that was even lowlier then the bare minimum? Surprisingly, the battered box browsed web pages in Firefox and Internet Explorer admirably. Even though our RAM was a half-gig below Microsoft's minimum requirement, it could still run a browser without using up all its RAM."

And this was with HALF of the "minimum" RAM required to run the OS, according to Microsoft at least.

SEVERAL billion dollars? I thought it was $1billion exactly.

Dude, John Carmack is pretty much the father of gaming as we know it today. He made Doom. He made Quake. Have you ever looked at Doom, really? Do you know that game can run on a 486 with 8Mb of RAM? That's a 66mhz processor, by the way. Sure, by today's standards it doesn't look particularly special, but considering how limited that hardware is, it looks fantastic. If you're more technically minded, take a look at the underlying engine for the game and you'll see that nothing had ever been ma...

"imagine a game not "scripted" but a program that puts you into a real world physics engine"

Physics engines don't take up a lot of space, genius. Code in general does not, you can fit all of GTAs executable code (that's everything, including external DLLs and such) into a few MBs. Even if you had an ultra-realistic physics engine, that wouldn't change much. What you need for "better physics" is not storage space, it's processing power. I wrote my ow...

Microsoft has enough gay and lesbian employees that they have their own committee within the company.

I don't think Microsoft is in any way biased against gay and lesbian people, it's just the people on Live that are.

The 360 is no more like a PC than any other console on the market, other than it has a Central processor and separate graphics chip - hardly anything new.

What makes it similar to PCs are the development tools for it. MS has been releasing SDKs and APIs for decades, as well as all software to go with it (Visual Studio), do you think they just ignored all that when creating the 360's development tools?
It's all based on the same stuff. 95% of PC games for the last 15 years h...

He's got a bit of a point, though. Sure, the moves by themselves are actually quite easy to pull off (well, the QCFx2 moves give a lot of people trouble, but still), but if you try to do the "challenges" where you're told to chain moves together, you see just how difficult it actually is. Even simple moves like Heavy Punch -> Fireball are nearly impossible to do (Try the Challenge, number 4 I think it is, before you disagree, it sounds simple but it's actually very hard to pull o...

What Microsoft should do is sign an agreement for MMOs on the 360 that allows them to share XBL revenue. I'd feel better paying for live if it meant no MMO surcharges on top of it. They could split the revenue depending on how many hours people log onto the game at any point.

And it makes sense, the gold service is (mainly) a matchmaking server that joins people together, but with an MMO it's not really necessary, since it all runs off of central servers anyway.

In o...

Hmmm, I suppose if they concentrate on the multiplayer, it could be really really good. GTAIV and SR2 clearly concentrated on SP and although the MP was fun, it was certainly very "Tacked on". A dedicated MP sandbox game could be fantastic. Just gotta wait and see, though.

@lalalala

It was never hard to upgrade to a new Hard drive, when MS released the elite and 120Gb HDDs, they also released a transfer cable. I believe the cable came with the standalone HDD and if you bought an elite, you could phone up MS to get one for free.

The title of this is extremely misleading. Nothing is confirmed, all Capcom said was that it was being developed for the Xbox360, they did NOT say it was EXCLUSIVE to the console and they did not say that it WASN'T being developed for the PS3 or PC. Capcom these days are very multi-platform orientated, so I wouldn't say this is confirmed at all.

"Don't forget the accounts created because of dead 360's and inability to transfer data initially. "

Errrrm...I am not trolling, but I'm guessing you don't own a 360? The Hard Drive can detach from the console easily and plugged into a completely different 360, complete with all of the data (including gamertags). It doesn't matter if the original 360 died, your gamertag was never ever lost. The only problem was to do with DRM issues with your DLC.
Even if, for som...
