Kinda like PS4 starts at 299. That implies the good units will cost more tyan 299. The whole idea is to provide a lower entry to VR.
Guess what an Xbox running Windows 10 and AMD x86 is? HoloLens is actually 3000 but its a wireless device for AR. It's a device that is needed to perfect tracking without external cameras. MS hope to provide this technology to OEM and increase volume thus reducing prices.
The HoloLens is far more advanced than the PSVR.
This is false. MS is providing the api for VR, AR, and mixed reality. They will also provide the inside-out tracking developed for HoloLens to these OEM. The goal is to minimize start up costs in both sw and hwd.
And yet the PS4 Slim without UhD BluRay and without optical out costs the SAME prices as XB1 Slim. How do you explain that?
FP32 has been the standard for decade on consumer GPUs. The only reason FP16 is used in mobile gaming is because of power savings and the small screen hides precision artifacts. So you are telling me that AMD and NVIDIA are dumbass touse FP32 when they could have done FP16 and claim twice the TF? Congratulations you're really smart.
6 TF > 4.2 TF. 320 GB/s > 218 GB/s. See you in 12 months when games released in 2017 are DESIGNED for Scorpio while games for PS4Pro today get patches. Oh good luck with 60 fps locked with the 2.1 GHz Jaguar. PS4Pro was rushed this year because Sony knew the OG PS4 can't handle VR.
There is nothing to stop each of these players to have a real controller that look like the XB1. Even with this larger controller the NSwitch is still more portable.
You are probably playing PS4 version where the dynamic resolution scales to 10p.
Maybe they should stop asking him for interviews? Maybe you should tell the interviewers to stop asking about hardware difference.
Well not only that there was a RUMOR that PS4 Neo was upgraded to match Scorpio.
Check out Gears of War 4 scaling on XB1 with higher-end PC. That's how it'll be done. Everything is dynamic resolution and dynamic performance. It's the way of gaming moving forward just like checkerboard rendering for PS4P.
OG Xbox used a co-developed GPU with NVIDIA.
There is nothing common sense about tracking visible light using visible light in a room full of visible light. This is especially true for motion tracking that may cause people to get sick if the tracking is wrong.
@Goldby Common sense says developing a tracking system for VR *requires* IR and visual tracking. It's purely Sony's problem for excluding IR tracking since tracking is one of the MOST important function in VR. Otherwise you'll have disorientation and nausea. It's so fundamental that even Vive and Rift have IR tracking. Even the Kinect since version 1 has IR tracking. There's absolutely no excuse that Sony didn't include one. They only wanted to reduce the costs so that...
Common sense says stereo camera can't cope with ambient light. This is on Sony. They should have added IR tracking. Guess what Vive and Rift use for tracking? IR!!!! Wow so much common sense.
Common sense tells you that the PS Camera should have IR tracking so that ambient light doesn't confuse it. But these folks here giving you negative can't bear the truth.
Well sarcasm doesn't really solve thr bright light issue does it? Why is it an issue? Mirror is obvious. You know why? Because the PS Camera doesn't have IR tracking so it must only use the stereo camera. The stereo camera is susceptible to visible light. Guess what's not? Yup IR. Sony should have released a new PS Camera with IR tracking but of course they wantes to keep $400 price tag.
The ambient lighting causing tracking issues because the PS camera doesn't have an IR-based tracking camera. It's also ridiculous to say you've to play in a darken room for it to work properly. Sony should've released an improved PS camera with IR tracking but of course that would make it absolutely mandatory and they couldn't price it at a fake $400.
The irony in this is that people doubted that Scorpio with 6TF can't do 4K.
