It's optional. You are not expected to pay unless you want to subscribe kinda like PS Now but not streaming. Second this service is not mutually exclusive to new games.
Do you have the links to the evidence presented? It would be fun to read.
I think the idea is to prevent services in the background like svchost.exe kicking into high CPU usage while you're gaming. Any sudden spikes in CPU usage outside of the game can cause frame-rate to glitch. Windows Update and Windows Defender are the biggest culprits. These guys often kicking using 50%+ CPU while you're trying to do work or play games.
Like $10 on Amazon for USB to Ethernet. Heck if Apple can provide one for $29, then Nin has no justification whatsoever to sell it for a fking $90. INSANE. That's like 30% of the console. RIDICULOUS.
Games and OS software are not mutually exclusive.
MS is REQUIRED BY LAW to charge sales tax when needed.
Yet they spent show much money developing BC and constantly making updates to the software. They spent all that money to put Windows 10 on it so that it can run UWP games and apps. And then spend all that money putting in HDMI in, IR out, 4K UHD BR...apparently that Indian guy doesn't give a shit about Xbox. BTW Ballmer was the CEO when Xbox One was revealed in November 2013. Guess who was CEO in February 2014? I guess Ballmer gave a shit about Xbox One release.
They are already working on hand tracking with Kinect since 2014. MS can dedicate the Kinect just for hand tracking while use inside-out tracking from HoloLens for head tracking. I suspect this might be one reasons why they bought Simplygon to reduce polygon rendering/tracking (assume they can make it real-time).

What? That's the whole point of being dynamic resolution and uncapped frame rate. It'll run with more fps or more steady fps with faster hardware. It'll render with more resolution if the GPU is better. It's meant to be automatic.

The Witcher 3 on XB1 was designed with uncapped 30 fps and dynamic resolution. This simply means the game will *automatically* run at higher fps and resolution on the Scorpio.
On the other hand if MS did the same thing and say why, this place will say it's "PR spin".
Let's forget the fact that Forza runs at 60 fps LOCKED and DriveClub runs at 30 fps. Look at DF review of DCVR and what happens to the graphics quality running at 60 fps. Dynamic weather GONE. Dynamic time GONE.

"The cost of 60fps in VR then, is pretty high. Bearing in mind how many peo...
That's because the Pro doesnt offer a huge upgrade like the Scorpio. Sony skimped on CPU, GPU, RAM to release it this year. Using Jag CPU is laughable.
It's a big deal bc CD3 can't run on XB1 without the cloud.
Remember the XB1S is already more expensive (4K BluRay, HDMI in, Optical Out, IR Out, eSRAM in APU) to mfg than the PS4 Slim and yet it's the same price as the PS4 Slim. I am guessing MS is break even or very very little margin.
I am sure they care but consider why is the XB1S the same price as the PS4 Slim? Consider this: The XB1S has 4K UHD BluRay, has optical output, has HDMI in, has IR out, has a APU that's more expensive to make than the PS4 because of the eSRAM, and yet all of that at the same price as a PS4 Slim that Sony intentionally REMOVED the optical out and intentionally left out the 4K UHD BluRay.
Which begs the questions. Is MS able to take a loss on the XB1 S?
...
MS did emulate the eDRAM from the X360 so it's not too far from software emulation of the eSRAM. However, I think MS will continue to use eSRAM especially at 14nm they can make it even larger for 4K. It acts like a super fast memory cache with super low latency.
That upscale from TV adds lag.
DriveClub also runs at 30 fps. Look how ugly DC is once it runs at 60 fps for VR.
EA Access = optional
Game Pass = optional
I know it's hard to understand that YOU make the decision if it's worth it or value added for YOU. I guess you just like Sony making the the decisions for you. We all know EA Access is not value added according to Big Brother but hey sign up on our PS Now to stream PS3 games for just $20/month.
