I think the idea behind their choice in aesthetics was really good, but the execution has left something to desire. The shaky cam, grain filter and lens flare might work in feature film, but in a game where you have to concentrate a lot harder at smaller details in the picture it can become nauseating. Like I said, the idea is great and looks good for small periods of time, but the overall effect is overwhelming (in a bad way). As for the actual graphics and textures, they ain't overly ...
Yeah, I signed up too, so reserving judgement till I (hopefully) get a go. The monthly subscription is too much to justify an instant purchase. But I LOVE the DC universe so hopefully this game will knock it out of the park.
Wow dude, why you gotta be such a douche bag? Sales don't mean everything. There are MANY amazing games that haven't been major sellers, and there are many big sellers that have been crappy games. I think if more people experimented a bit more in their gaming choices Yakuza would be an even bigger franchise. But within this economic climate it is somewhat understandable that people stay 'with the crowd'. But I continue to recommend Yakuza to all my friends and they've lov...
I understand that the gaming community in NZ would know who Kevin Butler is, i'm from NZ and I know who he is. But this advertisement is aimed at a general public, and if this was created as an homage, most viewers would just not get it. Thus my thinking its not an homage (unless TV3 was targeting gamers, which I don't think they were) but rather copying a successful formula delivered by Sony.
the only similarities with RDR that the article mentioned Mafia II as having is that both have a cover system. That's it. The reason they make this comparison is because both are open world games. Uncharted 2 had a cover system and yet the controls were fine. Until I see somewhere that the movements/controls are identical to RDR will I start worrying.
The only worry I have for the whole game, which came up in that article is when it states that Vito is an unsympathetic...
Man I really hope they use the main theme music from the first game in this one, the opening music was epic and really set a tone.
Your trolling amuses me. Keep up your sad little charade, it gives me a laugh.
Is there going to be comparison articles for every semi-major to major multi-platform game this generation? I dunno, I just don't think its that big of a deal unless its a big issue (kind of like Bayonetta). Problem with screen shot is that there are too many variables that could be wrong. Some sites have a difference even between the same XBOX versions. Its just not reliable.
I personally don't care if the 360 version turns out better, or if the PS3 version turns ...
I think they're just ripping Sony advertising off, because most non-gamers in NZ wouldn't know Kevin Butler as his advertisements ain't on NZ television. Homage usually requires the viewers to understand what the advertisement is copying. As far as I know, he's not used in advertising in most of Europe (I could be wrong). But I personally don't care because 'ripping off' happens everywhere these days.
add me as well! The first Godfather game was an absolute blast, and did such a great job at infusing the game with the movie. The second game was fun, but quite underwhelming. But I would still love to see a part III.
As for the FB game, im not worried either way...I use facebook for connecting, not really gaming.
Agree with you there dude. It's just one thing, and to be honest, I dont think its a major thing. They could remove it and I would probably still love the game.
I must agree with you to a certain extent. I absolutely LOVED the first Godfather game, I thought it really caught the vibe of the movies and did a good job creating a game from the licence. And I think I probably loved it more than GTA:SA but about the same as GTA:VC. Godfather 2, while a good game, it wasn't a great game, but still fun. And I totally adored Mafia, but i'm a sucker for most Mob themed movies and games. So yeah, im looking forward to some more Mafioso action with Maf...
Man I still remember Black having some great explosions, especially when you blew up the refinery's (I think they were refinery's).
Seriously dude, movie hasn't been released. Game hasn't been released. I would love to know how you have played and seen these products to exclaim that they are "garbage". Maybe they will suck, but you have no idea until you've seen them. I for one, hope they will be great, as im a fan of the comics.
I've already been f***ed hard by XBox...RROD.
Just kiddin, I love all consoles :)
Thanks for the info, but none of these projects have been greenlit, so officially they are not in production. Peter Jackson is scouting for actors and building sets for the Hobit in NZ and LA, however this is coming out on his own dime. Warner Bros is currently in negotiations with MGM to get the film made. But for now its still in limbo.
James Bond, was full steam ahead in production several months ago, even signing actress Freida Pinto as a 'Bond Girl' and Sam Men...
Damn, it looks decent, and I hope it plays good. As there aint no Bond films coming out for awhile (because of the MGM crap) this will have to tie me over for awhile.
It also looks like it could also be going third person...some of the footage looked in-game.
Man I hope this will be good, I enjoy most things James Bond. And the last game wasn't too shabby. I especially hope it will be good as it seems this will have to do until MGM sorts out their crap and makes another Bond film.
Sounds pretty good, but I still wish I could play as my Grey Warden from DA:O. Its good to see that your consequences are reflected in the world, but it just seemed (if you didn't die) that there was still story to be told. Especially with the consequences of your choices with Morrigan and Leliana. And I hope to high heaven, they release the game bug free, I had SOOO many troubles with the DLC I just had to sell it. But chances are ill still pick it up regardless.
Yeah this isn't anything new. What EB said about RRP is correct however, the vendors do provide them with that RRP. But RRP is usually the highest possible price and most companies price below that. EB Games have always had the highest prices because of setting prices at RRP. While this sucks, most gamers down here are used to it. Its even worse in NZ where i'm from, where MW2 is $149.99 RRP. But you can find it cheaper from other companies where they can offset prices. So the best ...
