A new iPhone and iPad comes out every year at 700 to 1000 bucks depending on the model, and people buy it every single year without question. The PC version has mods that allow you to hold your flashlight all the time, as opposed to having to cycle through 10 weopons just to find it clumsily. Also graphics mods have made it look amazing on PC, won't even look a fraction as good on consoles. Don't bother with this crap, the game design is archaic, with no flashlight attachment to guns? Give me a break.
Exclusives will always exist, just fewer and fewer these days as publishers capitalize on the extra revenue streams of multiplatform releases. They all do eventually if they aren't first party.

People always seem to forget - every single console sells out for months on end when it is first released. It doesn't matter what the day 1 preorders are, or how fast they sell out on day 1. They will continously sell out day after day for months, just like they always do (unless its a dreamcast).

Don't forget the Wii U is starting out with 0 units and will need software to push the hardware. If they were smart they would do a remake of Wii Sports and call it Wii Sports HD or something, casual gamers will eat that up in droves.

The Nintendo doesn't compete for the same audience as Sony and Msoft, they go for the casual audience with shallow support for hardcore gamers. Sony and Microsoft have both taken an identical approach, but opposite approach to what Ninty is doing, tailoring to the hardcore and making a shallow effort to attract casual gamers.
