lol talk about pigeon holing people, and categorizing them in typical nerdy fashion into categories that hardly include all gamers, but rather takes every type of gamer he (the author) personally knows and fits them into his own stereotypes.

This would be a lot more interesting if there was some actual research behind it to give it some meat. Anyone ever heard of research using anecdotal evidence? Look it up.

The actor isn't being sued, Bridgestone is being sued, for having some strange affiliation with the Nintendo Wii... lol really strange if you ask me.

Sony will have destroyed their relationship with Kevin Butler the actor, which only goes to show this decision to sue was done solely by Sony's lawyers looking to make money in court. Now Kevin Butler won't be in ANY future commercials, and Sony went along with the short term cash of suing rather using the charact...

I wonder if the guy who sold those orange Shamwow towels has legal disputes between that Shamwow company and the new ads he does for some other vegetable chopping product. Really, it's the same idea, unless of course his contract ended and there was no non-compete clause.

It has been thought of by companies that didn't start up as gaming companies (like Microsoft) that businesses are just machines designed to make money, and you don't need a game developer who specializes in coding to run the business, the marketing, the supply chain, etc. Quite frankly, this is true, however some industry knowledge is still required. You do need to know what people are playing, and someone who can analyze current and emerging markets. I don't need to play videogam...

The 360 version's lighting looked washed out a gloomy. The PS3 version has more bloom, more responsive frame rate thus being more responsive to a slight degree.
Either way, the game is a clunky, unpolished mess. Who cares which version of this turd appears more shiny? lol

More and more people are hating on the game who haven't played it yet, such as yourself. Do we really need more people pre-judging the game based on what other people are saying? Jaffe himself never played the game either but already had a detailed answer on how to fix the game lol gotta love that arrogant loud mouth. Always thinking he knows the answer to everything before the question is even asked.

Lawyers are to blame for crap like this. Sony thinks they can trademark Lambert's likeness as "Kevin Butler", which is nonsense since it would prevent him from working for anyone else. Sony can't do that unless there is a non-compete clause in Lambert's contract.

Sony has also been doing huge cutbacks to remain profitable. Lets just say Kevin got a pay cut and he quit, while Sony's executives running the company into the floor are getting bonused ...

lol ah the trashy British press, always the alarmists, and the under-sexed losers that are gamers and the gaming press conglomerating to turn a big pile of nothing into the biggest thing that's ever happened.
As has been discussed already, there was no assault. All physical contact was either consensual or not convincing to any judge that an actual assault occured. It was just lewd harrassment, and the guy does deserve to get kicked out, but really, the over-reaction just makes ...

Really? I tend to find things like accessories like headsets, monitors and tvs, and gaming cabinets to be super cheap on black friday/boxing week. Games come with a few bucks off here and there, nothing to brag about really.

I know right, it's nuts how old people are still completely mystified by new technology and see it as something to be avoided, to be stuck in their ways, and to look down upon people embracing new technology like videogames as a valid and acceptable form of entertainment, both for children, adults and yes, even the elderly. Wii Sports anyone? They play that in old folks homes all the time lol

Who is it designed for? People willing to pay for it, that's it. There is no other reason other than getting money, and perhaps fan service as a reason to keep coding a game (in the case of fan service it's always either because the devs screwed up and are trying to win back their fans ie. Mass Effect 3, or when they just want to have a good name with fans ie. Portal 2).

The concept of DLC may help to make games more profitable, which will increase the chances of the ...

This was made by Japanese people, who if you know anything about their culture, has an art style that does not require context that makes sense the same way Western art does. They tend to have ridiculous outfits, hair styles, all sorts of things that don't necessarily make sense, but it doesn't matter as long as it looks cool. So if a survival horror game which has nothing to do with reality anyway has a chick scantily dressed, Japanese devs would say "Yeah, who cares? It looks c...

This is actually a complex question, it isn't so black and white. The game engine is what limits a console, technically a developer codes according to the engine, and you can be more or less efficient with the way you code the game. If you're less efficient, you will have "maxed out" and reached the limits according to what you are capable of with how you approach code design. What needs to change is the efficiency of the game engine, and the efficiency with how things are c...

Just like horrible Michael Bay movies, this will sell incredibly well due its massive scope, its grandeur, its massive marketing campaign, and the massive fanbase established with the previous games, particularly RE5 given its the only other current gen RE game on high end consoles. RE5 sold 7 million copies, it doesn't matter if this doesn't review well, people will buy it, perhaps like it or hate it, and sell their copy, so you'll see a massive pile of used ones in a month or tw...

So he went from loudmouth Cliff who was relevant and making games, to the irrelevant loudmouth Cliff that people can hardly take seriously.

I wonder what will happen to Gears of War now that Cliff has nothing to do with it, we'll see the direction when the next Gears comes out next year, but beyond that lets hope it doesn't go the way of Resident Evil without its original creator, losing all direction and running off the rails.

I can't believe the mixed reviews for this game. Some reviewers giving 9's and 8's, other troll sites I don't trust like Destructoid and Gamespot giving it 3 and 4.5 out of 10. Then there's the pseudo intellectual sites like Eurogamer where they have the journalistic integrity of your usual rag tabloid trash magazine. I really don't know what to believe now - that's how objective gaming press is.

Apparently they must have a selective memory. The PS2 was 500 bucks - I know because that's how much I paid for mine.
But really, it isn't all about price, as the article states the PS3 has sold extremely well for a very long time being the most expensive. But quite frankly, Sony is a business, and it isn't about selling more units necessarily, because you can sell your system for 100 bucks and take massive losses, although in gamers eyes you'll be "number 1&quo...

lol Sony has a funny way of doing business. Instead of perhaps updating the Vita like Apple does with the iPhone, they promise some overly long lifecycle where the technology will be outdated a year at most after its release. The iPhone 5 already has amazing capabilities, it just so happens that no developer is going to spend millions of dollars to make a AAA game for it, however Sony should seriously start doing what actual successful companies are doing with handhelds - update the system mo...
