I still think a 360 release is possible (almost certainly not day and date) because the MGS games are so linear. Plus, if much of that data is video or audio from cutscenes that only need to be accessed once, then it could suit the game well for a multidisc release (a la MGS 1). I would just say that don't rule out the possibility if the money is there for Konami to make.
This update IS free, and it's not like Resistance didn't have glitches in multiplayer that needed to be patched too. For a while there Somerset was worthless because people kept glitching out of bounds and then sniping people who weren't cheating.
I just think it's good that both Insomniac and Epic are trying to help out the people who bought and continue to play their games. We should all be thanking both of them, not bashing anyone.
Unfortunately that title list is loaded with catalog titles.
Now, don't get me wrong, some of those are great titles (Big Lebowski & 40 Year Old Virgin I will miss), but catalog titles don't sell nearly as well as new to home video releases. Exclusive titles like Alpha Dog, Smoking Aces, and The Good Shephard will not sway things towards HDDVD.
They only had the one Samsung player selling across Europe. Now they have they have the Sony standalone, in addition to the Sony Trojan horse.
And btw, Trojan horses aren't necessarily bad things. Historically they do win wars. :)
The reason I don't like it is that it seems to be a way to sidestep price cuts to the system. Instead of dropping the price to 300 or 350 we're probably eventually gonna have the premium at 300 and the elite at 400. Although the premium is still a good console, unlike the core, and I was planning on buying a premium sometime after the summer, now I'm gonna have to get the elite, which sucks for me (no one wants the version that isn't the best one). Oh well, I'll suck it up and pay the extr...
I felt really evil after the end of the Theseus battle. This game is truly brutal.
The problem with the ps2 guitars as they relate to ps3 is that none of them have a PS button, which is a new requirement for ps3 controllers. Supposedly the analog button on ps2 controllers is what lets them work through usb adaptors, but the guitars have no analog button.
I don't mind having to buy a new guitar when each new game comes out (the whammy bar on my first one is broken and the newer models feel better as it is). It might be a ripoff for someone else who doesn't l...
Bubbles for everyone else who loves guitar hero!
1.3: The cold hard facts are that I have no real musical talent. I'm completely tone deaf and I have no creative musical abilities. But it's totally awesome that you can actually play guitar though. If it weren't for people that could actually do it and do it well, then I wouldn't be able to pretend that I could be one of those people through videogames.
1.2: It's tentatively called Guitar Hero: 1980's Editio...
Good to hear that Dragon Age could be coming to ps3. It should be out on 360 and ps3, hopefully, in addition to pc, but we'll see.
Simpson's movie game seems like pretty standard stuff.
I don't know what to make of that Halo 3 rumor if it is true, or when exactly MS would have suggested the controller, since Halo3 has been in development for a couple of years now.
I NEEED a ps3 guitar to come out soon. It's driving me crazy having to alternate from ps2 to ps3 to play guitar hero 2. Guitar Hero 3 can't come soon enough for the ps3. Unfortunately 1980s edition hits before that so I'll have to put up with this bullcrap even longer.
If Nintendo didn't do what they did they wouldn't have a console. The Wii is necessitated because Nintendo cannot afford to be a loss leader like Sony or Microsoft can. Instead they just make a weaker one that makes up for it by being different so they can avoid direct competition with MS or Sony.
Ps3 does NOT support 720i, and neither does the 360, or any other tv for that matter. 720i only exists in theory, but it isn't an option on any hdtv on the market. The ps3 (and the 360 now) does support every hd ratio in existence 480p, 720p, 1080i, and the mother of all pixels 1080p.
This has gotta be an April fools joke.
I know someone who bought the ps2 version for god knows why, and well, it's no Turtles in Time if anyone remembers that SNES game.
I'd say it happens to me once a week, and usually lasts for about 3 seconds. It's annoying as hell, but not a big deal. Hopefully a firmware update could fix it, but if not that, then maybe a minor hardware tweak in upcoming models. The ps2 had multiple hardware models (the only noticeably different one being when the switched to slimline). Over a console's lifecycle revisions tend to happen often, so the bluetooth problem is definitely something to look at. Not something to make another...
Does anyone know the nationality of that guy? I coldn't tell if he was arab or russian or what.
Actually, #2 is right in saying that Universal is the only major exclusive HDDVD studio. Weinstein Company is also HDDVD exclusive but they are a small studio with a limited catalog. Paramount and Warner aren't exclusive, but they are format neutral.
The Descent uses BD-J extensively, and only works on some BR standalones at the moment, and others require firmware updates. As a ps3 owner, the ps3 has also experience problems with bluray (random freezing), but these are fixed...
I could have guessed it would have crashed. Too much traffic all at once.

I'm not quite as good as this kid, but I've five starred the song (by less than 500 points according to scorehero.com)
I've got a lead guitar and bass guitar for my band. Hopefully at least 2 other people I know will get a ps3 by then and I can form a full band. Finding a decent vocalist will be tough though.
