Actually, NGS is probably a test of the ability of Team Ninja to use the ps3 as a successful development platform. If they find the ps3 to be a reasonable console to develop for and if sales meet or exceed expectations then I would say expect them to support the system by at least letting the NGS team handle porting of the future 360 games, or possibly let them develop new IPs for the ps3.
If the game fails to sell them expect very limited support this generation from Team Nin...
Took me about an hour per demo I would say.
The Chinese government is mandating a switch to evd in the home video market for that country. Not Bluray, and not HDDVD.
On a Walmart related note, Funai, the supplier of Walmart's televisions and DVD players that sell at the most reduced pricepoints, has already announced BluRay support by the end of the year. http://www.engadget.com/200...
#20, behind Pirates of the Carribbean 3 somehow.
At least it made the list unlike Lair, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3, FFXIII, and the other impressive new IPs and sucessful established series.
I can understand wanting to show impressive character models, but don't pick a crappy looking game to do it.
Edit: forgot about the eventual release of God of War 3.
I agree. It doesn't look like it will fit in with the form of the console like what the vision camera or eyetoy did for their respective consoles. Looks like it'll probably be the best actual camera peripheral on the market for any console though, so I guess that's what's important.
I know that one way it is done is with modems that have standby switches. They put the connection on standby but don't disconnect so the people turn them on and off to teleport around randomly. I've played the game against people who use them and with people on my team that used them, and it completely ruins the game. It makes it possible for someone to run into a heavily guarded base, have every member of the opposing team focused completely on killing them, and still take the flag and ge...
The only glitch I've encountered is some bad collision detection in some parts that allow people to exit the normal area of play. It's fairly annoying in Somerset when people do that and then snipe you from where you can't get to them (and yes they were out of bounds, I was killed multiple times trying to search every snipers spot I knew of until I realized what was going on and sniped them). Also it sucks when you're on a team where people do it to screw around, so you basically are down o...
The problem with that strategy is that 20gb and no extra features does not warrant a $100 price difference. If Sony is really intent on putting a 80gb hard drive in, which i think is stupid, then they would probably be best just to replace the 60gb sku and act like it's not a big deal and claim they were going to have minor upgrades and added features over the console life cycle as part of their plan all along. New skus = stupidity.
1. May 22nd, Disney, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2. Over 1.5 billion in box office sales. June, Pixar, Cars, Disney, Sin City. Winter this year, Disney, Pirates 3, Pixar, Ratatouille, Sony, Spiderman 3, Fox, Simpson's Movie, Die Hard 4. HDDVDs biggest blockbuster this year: Evan Almighty (which is still quite important), not a whole lot more after that though.
2. The Departed - Warner - sells about twice as many BluRay discs as HDDVD discs in the same time period, d...
This may not be important for home video geeks, but a built in wifi connection (none of this $100 addon bullcrap) would have made the reception of the elite much more positive. Not a majority positive, but it would have been better then the current situation where almost all of videogamedom is pissed off.
If they do plan on dropping the price they probably wouldn't say so until immediately before they do it. I'd say that September would be the earliest time for a price drop though.
If, for example Singstar songs (which also include videos I think, not really a big singer) would cost less, than I'd suspect its a result of Sony being the music production company for those songs. Royalties probably have RedOctane by the balls here, so just buy the songs you want and keep rocking out. Complaining about the costs isn't going to reduce the money RedOctane has to pay to license the songs.
I have to agree with you on this one Mart. As a GH fan on the ps2, I would have paid $100 for the game and guitar if it had cost that much at retail because it's that good.
And licensing really is a pain in the @ss, especially when you're trying to create a profitable microtransaction system. Horse Armor is still retarded because Bethesda doesn't pay royalties to anyone. But RedOctane doesn't really have many options in this case. My advice is buy songs you like, or buy son...
What if it's the GTAIV trailer. Lol.
It says that HDDVD is winning but gives no indications about sales figures? Give me a break. Casino Royale alone will sell more discs in Europe than all HDDVD releases to date combined.
However, it is still beneficial for HDDVD, as Studio Canal does have distribution rights for many Hollywood films in Europe.
It would be so awesome if they allowed for hard drive songs to be played and included a create a track thing so you could create your own note tracks to match up with the song. Plus you could share your new Guitar Hero type songs with other people out there creating new tracks. Sony should get on that if they're really serious about Game 3.0. That would really get me onboard with that whole thing.
As defined by Sony - Game 1.0 = normal console gaming
Game 2.0 = connection and interaction with other users (think Xbox Live)
Game 3.0 = connection and interaction with other users and the ability to share user created media and game content with other users
This goes with the idea of an internet 2.0 (youtube and stuff).
Basically Sony wants to make the gaming experience more like youtube-customizable and shareable with others.
Actually, DMC was never anything special graphics wise on the ps2, even when it was being developed exclusively for that system. If the graphics were above average in DMC4 I would be surprised. I would expect a 6.5-7.5 in graphics for the game normally.
Umm, what about Blizzard.
I'm pretty sure they're the most profitable. However many million subscribers at $15 per month. They make almost a billion a year on those subscriptions I bet.
There's no way they're in 66th place with the cash cow they're sitting on.
A video game is not the solution. Frankly, I don't think there is a solution. I'm going to download it and see how it works, but this almost certainly will accomplish nothing.
