Yeah this kind of crap happens, especially when parents are trying to get the things that their children want the most for christmas. Remember how bad the cabbage patch kids and tickle me elmo crazes got?
It said I was a 60% Nintendo fanboy and a 50% Sony fanboy and 11% Microsoft fanboy.
Nintendo - 300
Sony - 250
Microsoft - 55
"You aren't a fanboy, since you love both Nintendo and Sony. But you really hate Bill Gates and everything he creates. Or at least you don't care about anything he creates. "
I think not owning an original xbox and planning on using my grad school roomate's 360 instead of buying one myself really hurt me.
...
Retro gaming is nice and all, but it'd be a better deal if they had collections for sale instead of individual games, or if they offered free downloads after buying a certain number of arcade titles (I'm unfamiliar with the xbox live service so if my impressions of it are wrong please correct me).
You better hope there are more Sony fans, or you'll have a hard time selling it. : )
Good luck selling it, I hope you make some nice cash.
I like ps3 as much as the next guy but I'd would never pay anywhere above retail price for one.
There were a lot more than that, but ebay's been taking them down.
lol, you sound like yoda. But, yeah, this is old news.
Basically, after how Gamespot and EBGames botched the North American 360 launch (and I assume European launch) by offering many more preorders than they would have consoles in stock, they decided to take a more sensible approach this time and wait to take preorders only after they had gotten initial shipment estimates. I have no idea whats happening in the other territories, but whatever happens I hope you get your ps3 as soon as possible.
Plus it seems that a lot of people saw some of the insane profits made off of the 360 launch systems sold on ebay so there might be more systems sold online than before, driving prices down some.
If I can manage to get a second preorder, I'll probably sell try to sell it. Regardless I'm keeping my first one.
The intended message of the ps3 being a masterpiece makes a lot more sense than my more complicated ideas of applying the themes of the painting to the ps3 itself. I can't believe I didn't think of that. Oh well, at least it's nice having someone make an intelligent comment about this like you did. Usually all I hear is stuff like post #1 and its followups.
If you don't believe me check out this film he wrote and co-directed. I must warn that there is some pretty messed up stuff in it.

Lucky, I only got one. Maybe I can get lucky and get one from somewhere else too. I really want to make some cash on ebay and still have one ot play.
Why hadn't I heard about this? Was this just announced?
Seriously, soundboy, having you been living under a rock since they announced the delay.
Doesn't the ps3 have 48Gb/s of bandwidth that the cpu and gpu have to share while the 360 only has 22.4 between the two? Also, how old was that press release, and since nothing about the actual structure or performance is known all of the calculations rely on inferred information. "It is important to note that if the RSX ALUs are similar to the GeForce 6800 ALUs then they work on vector4s." From what I understand about what Nathaniel wrote, all of his calculations about gigaflops...
It's a reference to the Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. Many scholars have interpreted the painting as showing the surrealist nature of the dreams, and the actual physical world. Time is not rigid, and neither is physical shape. The unliving objects like the clock actually become organic, losing their cold rigid nature, but also gaining the weakness of flesh and the ability to decompose. Come on, someone take an art history class just once.
Sounds like you guys had it easy. At our gamestop the line reached closer to 50 people and there were only 16 reserve spots. I was glad I got out of there with number 11, I'm sure it got pretty bad or something. Only 2 of the 16 people that actually got preorders said they were probably going to sell theirs on ebay, but they both said they could wait until march to get a ps3 if that meant making $2500 in November. It seemed like only a couple people even knew they would be taking preorder...
One quick point. How can it be confirmed long ago if the specs aren't even released? Seriously.
What does youtube care now? They're rich after being bought by Google.
What about the $100 20gb hdd. I'm pretty sure they're making a profit on that ripoff.
