Good job finding this. These vids really give a lot of details about what the online mode in resistance will be like.
I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves here. This generation consoles are trying to take over the living room. In five or six years they'll make their bid for the kitchen. Five or six years later they're coming for the bathrooms......I'm very scared at this point.
Yay, you got one back.
Actually it lists Mario as having sold 29 million in America and 40 million worldwide. But according to topgamer that website is outdated. I guess wikipedia can't always be trusted lol. My point still stands though. Gears will probably not reach a 50% attach rate; no matter how awesome it turns out to be games just don't sell like that, especially when there are numerous alternative games out there of different genres. This is in no way a knock on Gears, it's actually a complement to the...
I think that at launch a Zelda game can get 50%, but then as console sales increase and the amount of games available increases, its attach rate will return to normal levels. Back when the N64 launched, Mario 64 had an almost 100% attach rate. At launches games can generate larger attach rates because of the limited variety of games out there. Obviously this won't be as extreme as the N64 launch when 2 games were available, but out of the 20 or 30 launch games, zelda is one that I can see ...
Xfire is an extra thing. Some developers can use it in their games so that a pc-console community can exist. Only some games will use xfire, and they will only use it as an addition to the basic playstation network.
If you think 60% is a LOW estimate you're crazy. The most popular games rarely get over 20%. Grand Theft Auto had like a 15% attach rate. Super Smash Bros. Melee was only about 30%. And Gears is not much more accesible (you spelled this word incorrectly once and then correctly later on?) than Halo. The level of violence in the game and the need for strategy/cover guarantees that it won't find the mass market that Halo reached. If you look at the other 360 games that have sold well you w...
If they're free then they aren't really subscription based are they? For example, FFXI is playable on Live with only a silver account, but you still pay $12.95 a month to Square.
Could you do a little thinking or something before you make your next post? And people like you need to stop laming all the quality news articles, that goes to ps3 lamebots too.
Well, now that you've limited sales to next generation titles only (I was going to say Final Fantasy XII), I would say that Zelda will definitely sell more. According to reports about Wii production we will see many more than 1 million sold before Christmas, I've heard estimates upwards of 5 million (the units should be easy enough to produce as it has been described by Nintendo as Gamecubesque). I would say almost all of these people will buy Zelda as it's the best game at launch by far an...
Did you read the article to see what eurogamer said the network was like? Anyways, you're right, none of us will know how it works until the 17th, or 11th if you're in Japan. Hopefully it'll be a high quality network in the style of Live, and it will be free like they said. Hopefully.
Everyone listen to this guy. He obviously knows what he's talking about just based on the intelligence and relevance of his post.
MART, you seriously need to get a life. Every news story for you is just an oppurtunity to bash ps3, and now it looks like you might start bashing the wii too. I bet you Gears will be a really good game, but I would also bet that it won't be the best selling game of q4.
The preorder for American gamestops was a $100 deposit, so if you got the premium, you only pay the remaining $500 when you pick it up. You could put more money down than the minimum as well. A couple of people actually payed the entire $600 at once.
Simpsons: Hit and Run got some really nice reviews. Road Rage was about average, and Wrestling and Skateboarding were terrible. I think Road Rage was the only one that EA published.
I've gotten pretty annoyed with all of your "blur-ray" comments, especially when they were in news stories that didn't even have anything to do with bluray. But, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and give positive feedback. Everyone deserves a second chance.
His comment about customer service was obviously about Windows, not the 360 and the 2 year mandatory warrantee law. You can't just say "bull" about having poor Windows customer service and then give an example about the 360.
Yeah I remember that being a problem. Someone's on ebay and they search for xbox 360 and get a result that's a picture of the unopened box and a payitnow at like $400. Naturally they click on it as fast as possible so no one else can take this amazing deal they found only to later find that hidden in the description is the sentence "It's just a BOX," but by then it's too late. Then the jerk goes on the internet and shows off pictures saying "look at this noob I just scammed!...
Yes I'm saying they shouldn't be that expensive. I bought a 250gb hard drive, 7200 rpm, for $140. So I think a $100 price for a twelth of that is ridiculous.
What in the world is the inzone? Out of all the football games I've played in, watched on tv, or any football videogame I've played, I've never once encountered the inzone. I'm pretty sure you meant end zone.
First off, not the same genre at all, unless you lump all science fiction games together. Second of all, how many stores are going to have demos for m-rated games, especially considering how violent and, at times, scary Gears is supposed to be (not a knock, I think this is a good thing, but it would prevent both games from having public demos where I'm from).
