The article says "Sony managed to snag console exclusivity of The Elder Scrolls series and F.E.A.R. away from Microsoft," so I guess technically it is right. It does also say they lost exclusivity to Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, and Bioshock, which I'm pretty sure they never even had to begin with.

I don't even get how the DC comics MMO is going to work. Does everybody get to be Batman or are most of us going to be stuck playing crappy characters like Calendar Man, the Mad Hatter, and Jason Todd (aka the crappy Robin that readers paid money to see killed).

Don't you still have to pay for directv? Won't that cost money too? I would also expect Sony to have hd content available over the internet, as they do own many movie production studios and music studios.

I don't know who was predicting a $350 hd add on but it wasn't me. I had guessed $200 because it had to be cheaper than a stand alone, it probably wouldn't go over $600 combined with the 360 because of the ps3, and it doesn't cost that much to make the drive when the 360 hard...

You made some mistakes. You don't get hd movies for $200 less. It's actually the same price except with a smaller/absent hard drive and no HDMI if you want hd movies on a 360.

Sony fans would probably also point out that it seems they get a unified (not undifed) online service for 0 cents a day and they can put 250gb hard drives in if they felt like purchasing them. Also, ps3 owners can create multiple accounts, so my brother doesn't have to use my account to play games online...

HDMI is supposed to be THE connection for HD content, and it has this built in copy protection thing. Movie makers can implement that copy protection feature and movies coming over any other connection besides HDMI would then be downscaled from 1080p to a crappier resolution. That's not supposed to happen for 5 years or so, but it's nice to know that when you're making a $600 investment that it won't be worthless in a few years. The 360 is also supposed to have an HDMI adapter coming, alth...

Nice comeback. Anyways, why are you guys bothering to argue here when the Sony press conference is going on? Go to that article and argue there. It's more interesting too.

This is turning out to be the press conference that TGS should have been. It's sounding more and more like the playstation network isn't going to be the rush job many (myself included) thought it would be. I love that game sharing with up to 5 other people option. That would mean that for every $15 I spend on the arcade like titles, I could get about 6 games or more. That is awesome. All the multimedia functions and this wireless hotspot psp connectivity thing sound great too, but I doub...

Well, it does take time to make high quality games, so sometimes it just doesn't line up. 8 months is pretty bad, but it's better than just releasing crap to fill the void (Some would say N3 was crap, though I think trying to ripoff the Dynasty Warriors franchise wasn't that smart to begin with). It's like the guy says: [But] we're not going to let the date drive when a first party game comes out, because a bad first-party game coming out at the right time doesn't matter. I think most xbo...

Talledega Nights rumor confirmed. Controller has a sixty foot range, and a thirty hour battery life. Sony bashes power bricks and noisy consoles. AC, USB, Ethernet, and Composite cables all included. Games at $60 as expected, $50 controllers (Damn that hurts), $15 legacy memory card adapters, $25 remote in December.

Damn, you beat me to the post.

They make the comparison to the iPod battery, and I've had my iPod for three years and the battery still works fine, so that seems to tell me it's not that big of a deal. Plus, I'm only buying one extra controller and waiting until they settle the Immersion lawsuit and reintroduce rumble before I get more than two controllers.

It's probably going to be 2 years before I upgrade my pc enough to be able to play this. Oh well, it will still be just as good 2 years from now.

Based on the $100 price tag of the 20gb model, I'd guess that this could cost $200. Of course, Microsoft could be nice and slash prices for the 20gb model and that would affect how much this one would cost. At least now gamers have a choice in hard drives, although it would be better if third party hard drives could be used as well.

Ign said that the gameplay for the 360 and the ps3 was only running at like 10-15 fps, so what they most likely did was just speed up the frames per second to make it look good in the trailer. I think it will look better when it is actually running at a normal framerate.

It's unbelievable how far the industry has come as an entertainment medium.

What is wrong with people? This shouldn't even be a real controversial game. It's rated teen, and the player is punished for misbehavior so being violent is not encouraged in the game.

The ps3 is also supposed to support playback of mp4 files from ipods.

I assume games will give players the option of playing their own soundtracks. So far, I've heard of one game, Def Jam Icon for 360 and ps3, that actually lets players play songs off their hard drive and the songs actually do affect the gameplay. The environment is supposed to react and change based on the songs and it is also supposed to have an effect on the characters, so that is definitely something to l...

German gamers can't play Gears of War, but Uwe Boll can continue using the money of the German government to make his "movies." Something is horribly wrong in Germany.

That was so sick in the movie! South Park is one of my favorite shows on television. New episode tonight!

5 million is a ridiculous number. Where could that guy have gotten that? Sony says that they're hoping to sell 2 million this year and 6 million by the end of March.
