Dude, just please stop. I'm begging you.
I have a question. In Europe or the UK is the $ replaced by the Pound or Euro symbols on the keyboard? Just wondering.
Who cares what this Microsoft employee has to say? I mean, look at him, he looks and sounds like such a douche, pardon my french (hahahaha I crack my self up with my witticisms).
What it comes down to for ME: we have two online plans that seem really similar, except one is free and the other is $50 a year for as long as you feel like playing videogames online. Which will I choose?
Yeah I think it's really cool being able to compare achievements to other players in a standardized way, but I think ps3 owners could still get a system that displays their info, but it would be more like a list of rankings in all of the games they own. I think that would be more relevant than an overall achievements score. I mean, having a gamerscore of 60,000 would mean a lot less to me than if someone was ranked #1 overall in Halo3. Just my opinion though.
A 2x bluray drive is still faster than a 12x dvd drives minimum read speed (the 12x dvd drive is variable speed, while the bluray is constant speed). If you're not having any trouble with dvd load times, don't expect much trouble with bluray load times, especially since caching will also be available as an option for ALL ps3 owners. Stop blowing things out of proportion.
But with the 360 setup you could never have the bragging rights of being the top Fight Night player in the world, which an individual leaderboard could do. I think that's more important to me than comparing Gamerscores to other people, especially with all the cheaters and people with no lives inflating theirs.
I also kinda like it when getting 100% completion actually does something. In Insomniac's games, like Ratchet and Resistance now, for instance, getting all the skill p...
I like how DJ made some arguments and Xgamer called him a fool...without countering any of his arguments! Wonder who won that debate, on one side an argument derived from logic and reason, and on the other name calling. I guess that's why DJ has more bubbles than xgamer. The bubble system works!
If anything this will make them angrier than before for God know what reason. It was a dumb enough reason to be mad in the first place.
I already read that article, but it doesn't address that ability to hold a 1080p image thing, the guy just says "yes we can," and doesn't give the how. But, we'll see what can or can't be done soon enough. I'm real psyched for Lost Planet by the way.
If you continue reading on the second and third pages, the interviewer does develop a rapport with itagaki.
I like how you can share games you get with your friends. That sounds like a real sweet feature.
I like how there was this big argument going on, and then virtualgamer catches that and all the fanboys shut up. Classic.
So the question is, How big a deal is gamerscore for normal players? Xbox livers chime in please. Personally I like having individual leaderboards a lot, but an overall ranking wouldn't be unwelcome. I do think that having individual scoreboards is more important an overall board cause I'm not going to buy enough games to get into the top overall scoreboard, but I could try and get highest in Madden, Resistance, or whatever else.
It's about as misleading as when everyone says the ps3 costs $200 more than the 360. Sony's big point was that their core system does a whole lot more than the 360 core system. In order to get the same type of functionality out of the 360 core as comes standard with the ps3 core, add ons need to be purchased. I certainly don't think that this is criminal.
Microsoft came to that bandwidth conclusion by taking bandwidth that was internal on the gpu and adding it to the system ...
I'm so excited for this game. MART, was this supposed to be one of the four 360 games in 1080p? If so that's awesome.
I would say that the claim about having 5 times the system bandwidth when they have, in reality, half the bandwidth is an outright lie.
Sony has released a statement qualifying their chart:

This just gives the explanation that anyone who knows anything about the two could have deduced themselves.
I'...
Microsoft has been blatantly lying about the ps3 for over a year. Remember back when they said the 360 had 5 times more system bandwidth than the ps3 (Despite the ps3 having more system bandwidth) back in May of last year? I sure as hell remember because so many people have posted links to that bullcrap article since then.
And yes I'm real excited about it. November 18th. Go Blue!
Then the consumer realizes that he has to buy a memory card or $100 hard drive to play his games. So he says what the hell, $399 is still cheaper than $499. Then one month later he finds out he has to pay $50 more to continue playing Gears of War online. "Isn't there an option where I don't have to pay but can still get online multiplayer?" he would say.
"No, not really, but there is Silver plan."
"What's that."
"It's an o...
My post just meant to say that businesses always bash what their competitor does so that they can claim what they're doing is better. When Sony says that the 360 doesn't come with a hard drive as standard, and when Microsoft says that Sony doesn't let consumers pay for what they want, they're doing the same thing.
I agree that ps3 and bluray will probably win, but this whole spamming thing is idiotic. Everyone should be against it regardless of opinions on the console/format wars.
