I updated and I don't see this in my eSHOP...is this Japan only?
Key updates that people asked for:
-Map of Streetpass contact places of origins.
-Passive downloads of purchased software.
-"Add only required funds" feature in eSHOP.
There's obviously a LOT more than that but those were specific things that i know people have asked about and written articles about recently.
Got it this morning. Much improved.
One last thing I'll add is to directly address the disbelief out there within gamer circles that adults "shouldn't" like Mario games. Let me explain a bit why adults like Mario games. Its for good reasons that some of you may not have considered or experienced. The author of the article clearly didn't consider this.
I play Mario games and not adult games. I play Mario games because I lead an adult life and I need to decompress and have a little "...
The more I read from shogungamer the less I trust their articles. They're a pretty opinionated group and those opinions often seem to serve their own needs, not the needs of other gamers. I have now played MK 7 and their reviewer rated it "poor" because it was "too easy". I don't find it easy at all. Quite challenging. I looked up the guy's reviews and he consistently rates FPS' high and several (not all) 3DS games low. In fact, his highest 3DS rating...
Play the game more. You can still snake somewhat, just not to the degree as in the past.
Another way to think about this is that MK 7 rewards players who think more deeply about lines and routes. Snaking may have been effective, but it also happened to be a way to avoid the mental challenge of how to race properly. So, it was effectively a "cheat" and for people who want to play without cheats, other players were making that decision for them. That isn't com...
Heroes of Ruin should be on that list too, but the article title is a poor title. None of those games are going to "break" the 3DS. We've seen enough within the last month to know that isn't going to happen. Heck, as soon as Justin Bieber pushed it in a commercial that hooked the pre-teen girl crowd. They'll buy in the millions.
Someday, when you grow up, you'll realize that it is ok for people to like different things from you. You'll also realize how foolish you look for criticizing other people just for liking different things from you.
Gamers don't know how to handle the emotions associated with people other than themselves liking things that they don't like. That is the real problem. Gamers are intelligent. They're also, as a group, really insecure. Sorry, but its true. They've been beaten down, culturally, to believe on a daily basis that there is something wrong with being intelligent and passionate about recreation. And rather than allowing themselves the possibility that different people than them...
I have no problem with you breaking with industry standard on your scores. And I'm impressed and respect the fact that you have the guts to come on here and defend your score. I obviously haven't played the game. I need to check out some of your other reviews too now so that I can gauge if your review style is consistent on other known titles that I have played.
That said, although you're entitled to your opinion, I'm interested in what sort of message this...
Not at a cartridge price though. That would be my fear. Would you play Portal if it cost 40 dollars or even ten dollars when it was available on Steam for free? Not gonna happen.
The article is correct.
Ok, I'll bite. I did read the whole article and its pretty clear from the review that the person who reviewed the game doesn't quite "get" Mario Kart.
"The dumbing down of the series is getting worse and worse, and has become a legitimate issue with gaming in general and Nintendo in specific."
The purpose of Mario Kart has never been to "win" races. If that were the purpose, prior iterations would have had a lot more th...
The solution to the "everybody gives 8s" problem is not to shit on a likely very good game with a poor review.
North America has to wait until February, correct?
None of the Nice or Naughty surprise me. I avoid most of the Naughty companies like the plague and only shop at Gamestop out of necessity.
There is a huge income gap between parents who can buy their kids iPads and those that can buy the 3DS. Advantage 3DS. Nintendo knew exactly what they were doing when they dropped the price. I'm not saying it wasn't necessary too, but it'll be the edge that will get a lot of parents to spend 170 instead of 500.
None taken. The marketing was botched. However, recent commercials do a pretty good job of describing the differences and I think it will be hard for kids to not ask for MK7 and 3D Land.
Snake Mountain was the bomb. I also really liked the GI Joe circle fortress thingy with the spring loaded missle launchers.
The article says the 3DS is a "flop" but anyone who has followed the handheld knows that it has experienced a huge resurgence and has out-performed the DS. Uninformed journalism.
