As much as I agree philosophically with your last sentence, I also want the 3DS to succeed as I've enjoyed the system so far.
As much as I hate the principle of increase (4GB SD is NOT an excuse. Memory is cheap, even proprietary.), the articles about the "Raid" mode makes it sound like its two solid games in one and if that is the case it would be worth it.
If they get 1.5 million Likes they're going to raise the price of Revelations another 10 dollars, I bet. Keep supporting them and they'll fleece the hell out of you...
You played the actual game or the demo included with Mercenaries? Because demos rarely include full graphics.
The only possible way that this is going to stop is if game players can have the self control to not purchase. Every business wants to do one thing: make money. And unless consumers choose to stand up and not purchase the products they will continue to do it.
Since this is a title I really want I'm going to simply pre-order on Amazon and that way I'll get the 40 dollar price that the game should be. I'll be one less buying at the ridiculous price point.
You clearly have to pick one or the other with these add-ons.
So say the people who don't play games. LOL. Yep, Al Gore invented the internet and Steve Jobs has had the biggest influence on gaming. What the article should say is that Steve Jobs invented the concept of tricking people that they needed to have a trendy device and waste their money on constantly upgrading. In reality, we should say that Steve Jobs invented consumers getting stupider.
Well, he didn't say that. He said they delayed games. He didn't say they delayed the launch window. If they delayed the launch window that would be stupid, but no one said they did that.
Unless I'm mistaken 3DS game cards can go up to 4GB currently and RE:Rev is an example of one of those. Metal Gear Solid too? I grow tired of this: "a handheld should be exactly like a console" argument.
This article is predicated on the assumption that a game reviewer should be able to anticipate someone's opinion on something. Typical gamer over-thinking combined with naivete of the review process.
Resident Evil Revelations and Heroes of Ruin are both releasing first quarter. Those are huge titles.
"Just thought I’d invite you along to a better way of looking at games."
Thanks for enlightening me oh mighty teacher! Wow, if this person isn't the classic "I'm a super genius gamer stereotype and the only reason you don't understand games it is because you haven't approached them at the unnecessary 30 levels of analyses that I have!"
My guess is a college philosophy major.
This only holds true if you assume that there will be no rebound. If Nintendo stock rebounds after Christmas, or ANYTIME in the next few years, it is the EXACTLY correct time to buy. You just have to be willing to hold onto it for a while.
Nice that you are pre-emptively striking anybody who would disagree with you. *rolleyes* I find it interesting how "buy low, sell high" is "ignorance" to you. LOL
I don't find anything inherently wrong with any system on the market. I don't like the PSP for this exact reason you mentioned. The games don't appeal to me. They could be the most gorgeous looking games in the world (PSP and Vita are obviously technically far superior to Nintendo), but I can't find any games I want to play on Sony systems. I don't like FPS or God of War or gory games. Sony fans really struggle to understand why I don't like PSP and my honest answ...
Your last sentence does make sense. Vita isn't geared towards kids. Clearly adults. Are adults more likely to buy systems for Christmas or with tax returns?
Why does it matter if one console "wins"? Trolls or no, wishing the demise of another console means less competition, which means more things that you all don't like, like DLC and online passes.
Radiant Historia was a fantastic JRPG that came out THIS YEAR. But, it was on DS, and since most people ignore handheld consoles they missed out.
I find it just awesome that all of you are ragging on Gamestop. People, businesses have been buying things from people and re-sealing them for a profit for the entirety of human history.
Gamestop isn't the problem. The problem is that you can't control yourselves. The only reason the game industry would ever have to change its practices is if people stop buying. But, you can't. You rationalize why DLC and online passes are good, when in reality, the industry ...
The reason why we have to deal with online passes and DLC is because gamers have no self control and can't choose to not purchase games. "OMFG the next FPS that is identical to the last one! I HAZ TO HAVZ IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!" The only thing that truly drives reform in a market is the consumer choosing not to buy. Gamers can't do that. The industry has you by the balls because you can't choose self control.
To be totally fair to Capcom, the game will also feature full voice acting which is a-typical of handheld games to this point and does cost money. What everybody is really upset about is the dick move of it being "sprung" like this. Capcom's timing has just been horrible as of late. Crappy economies world wide. We're all getting punched in the faces financially and money is generally tight for luxuries like this. So people get pissed off when their luxuries cost more. ...
