The problem with the whole "don't buy used" argument is that it ignores two key aspects of the exchange:

1) As said above, any game you buy used was originally bought new.

2) Nobody seems to consider the fact that there are gamers that wouldn't buy or get to play any games AT ALL, if not for used prices.

My question is: Why doesn't anybody get up in arms when someone buys a car used? Are we fleecing the auto industry b...

People can criticize all they want. If their criticism doesn't make sense or doesn't inform others it should be taken with a grain of salt. Shredder's comments reveal a lot more than a problem with the machine and paint an unfair picture to those who may want to adopt.

I think this is probably an indicator of your original purchasing decision and expectations, not the device itself. Why is it that a gamer's own decisions never factor into discussions about dissatisfaction of a system? Could it be that we're sometimes not willing to admit that we made a decision without thought of our own habits and desires?

I refuse to tolerate this "its the company's fault" attitude to systems. Its bullshit. The reality is that no...

Looking at the 3DS/DS list it looks like "Hidden Gems" means "games we're trying to clearance" LOL

@tarbis: Its pretty clear you have absolutely no clue how that job works.

Your entire argument is predicated on the assumption that from 9-5, a video game industry writer does only two things: 1) Play games and 2) Write about them. You honestly believe that that is all they do during their 9-5 workday? Are you 15 years old? 17? An adult with the maturity and life experience of a 15 year old? I mean you comment on people who "live off their parents", yet your ...

Yep. Totally realistic expectation for a 200 hour game, right! They don't need to eat, sleep, spend time with their family, take care of their kids, work or do anything else that we do, right? They're just paid to play video games 24/7 and do nothing else!

Were you serious tarbis, or do you really expect a game reviewer to have no other life than to help you to decide to spend 60 bucks? I guess it just occurred to me that you could be facetious here. Maybe we sho...

Why do you read a movie review? To get a judgment of pacing, acting and story.

Why do you read a video game review? To get a judgment of gameplay, the mechanics, bugs and execution.

Do you want either of those spoiled? Nope. So the end of the video game only really matters for the "story" aspects of it, and you don't want that spoiled anyway.

A reviewer doesn't need to finish a game so long as they experienced ENOUGH of ...

"There’s nothing stopping these things from happening, save for the stubborn refusal of the companies holding the rights. "

Well, nothing that Jim Sterling can think of, anyway, and if Jim Sterling can't think of a reason, then there must not be a reason, right?

Jim Sterling is the worst kind of entitled fiscally-moronic gamer out there. He doesn't understand the internal decisions that govern companies, and rather than just shutting his tr...

Video gamers and actual role-playing game players define RPGs completely differently. Pure video gamers seem to think that an RPG is simply a game where you customize aspects of your character as the game progresses. While that does happen in tabletop role-playing games, the purpose of a table-top role-playing game really should be that you are making decisions that influence the outcome of the game and crafting the whole story as you progress. In that regard, very few video games live up...

Did you buy PES 2011 too?

If you didn't, you just held out for what you wanted and made the right choice for you.

If you did, you might just really like soccer games.

Either way, I wouldn't expect the typical 3DS gamer to want FIFA. I'm glad you like it! :)

Well duh to this article.

1. The reason why certain games have been delayed is to release at the time when there is a greater number of hardware units out there. FIFA is going to release when its ready on all consoles and they can't just delay the 3DS version. Many companies have the flexibility of when to release to max profits, EA releases all its games simultaneously.

2. Nobody buys a handheld to play FIFA soccer. I know some of you may live and d...

I bought a DS and played mostly third party titles. I have a 3DS and love it.

I think the phrase "exclusively on 3DS" answers your question. Exclusive means "not anywhere else" with regards to games.

Well, I'm not a Nintendo loyalist. I'm a core gamer interested in tactical RTS, turn based, and RPG. Both do RPG well, but I find that I have more choices for the other two for Nintendo. So, I stick with Nintendo because they tend to put out more games of the specific genre I like. If Sony had better reviewed RTS and turn based than just Disgaea and Tactics Ogre I'd give them a try.

@Vito: Yep, for me it was. I played it in a vacuum devoid of all the fanboy commentary, so the only thing that mattered to me was that I played a ton of games on it that I loved. darthv72 gets it.

What I find hilarious is that people seem to think that the 3DS and Vita have the same market. They don't. People think they're smart with all of these doom prophecies but what it really shows is their total lack of empathy to the purchasing desires of other people.

I was in error. I did look around the page to see the country of origin because Americans don't use the word "rubbish" in their speech but I couldn't find it. You know .au" in address or soemthing. I also assumed that since other countries are getting eSHOP updates that they'd be getting Nintendo Video updates too. That sucks. I support your quest for NV reform!

Hmmm. The magician and desert lizard thing were in the first week of release. Since then there have been movie trailers, music videos, animations, comedy sketches, blue man group, extreme sports and dance offs. What does this guy want that hasn't been delivered yet? Has he even bothered to WATCH or update since release?

RE: seven trailers=seven spaces. That means that those things won't go away. You can watch them again and share with your friends. It is a bene...
