I disagree with some of the points made by the author, but this just may be personal preference.
1. I disagree with the criticism of the scanner. The scanner forces you to search every nook and cranny of the world, a hallmark of the RE survival horror versions over the action horrors. Having the items just sitting out wouldn't really do much for the "explore" aethesthetic of the game, IMO. I also like that you can scan enemies, before or after you kill the...
The Circle Pad Pro is NOT bundled with it, as the article erroneously says, at least not in the US. It is a separate Gamestop exclusive in the US and you have to reserve it separately to guarantee one on launch day.
The controls are just like any other RE survival horror (not action) game. Purposely clunky to heighten the tension.
I enjoyed the demo and the risk/reward of the scanner thing. Sound and music is great.
Maybe I'm dumb, but my dogs suddenly barked at something outside while I was playing and I jumped. ;P
Well, I finished the demo in two playthroughs, so the only drawback to the 30 playthroughs is in the number of people that I can introduce the game to, but I won't need all 28 left to do that.
Yep. This the best piece of non-news I've had all day. But hey, the internet wants CONTROVERSY and people hearing that there are limits to how they live their recreational lives is CONTROVERSY. Dum dum dummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

3DS and Vita are consoles. They just happen to be handheld. In every other respect they fit the definition of a dedicated console for games. And PCs aren't consoles. They're included on the list. Handheld gamers apparently don't count.
Not a single handheld game (3DS or Vita) mentioned. Bullshit.
I was excited for Doctor Lautrec in concept, but then it was consistently given sub-par early reviews and I'm glad I didn't bite. Looking like Professor Layton doesn't matter if it doesn't play like Layton or any other good game.
Touche. I wish the bubble system existed on more websites.
I am a 3DS fan, but I also don't think this is a fair analysis of Vita. Vita is a different experience than 3DS and if other people like that, that is their own call, not yours. None of the things you mention inherently make 3DS better. Instead of chastising Vita owners, 3DS owners should be excited for them and the fact that competition exists. I won't be buying a Vita, but I respect the right of Sony fans to play the games they want on the systems they want. I'd also apprec...
People on the internet will believe anything and trust anyone as reputable.
Also true! But they are incredibly situational, as you say.
You can instantly tell you're potentially playing a royal douche in MK7 online when they ALWAYS select Maku Wuhu for their track. They are either a clueless person who doesn't know the exploit, and therefore doesn't know the etiquette of politely not selecting that track, or they are trying to get an easy first place. Thankfully, I rarely encounter more than one per race and the others will almost always race the track fairly.
The online rankings are also kinda ...
Actually, there are one and a half ways to avoid it.
First, if you get hit by an item the instant before a blue shell hits you (while your kart is spinning out), the blue shell doesn't add to it, and recovery time is usually faster than the blue shell recovery time. Obviously, you can't really control this. So, I call it "half" a way.
Second, you can try to take someone with you. If the blue shell is launched and there is someone right be...
This accurately shows the difference between the tastes of the demographics that play the PSP and Nintendo systems.
I'm not sure that I buy this "my brain is incompatible" argument. I think its unconscious scapegoating an "out" that some people might be using to take the easy way out of admitting that they simply don't like something. Instead they manufacture reasons as to why it is a defect in the product itself. Now, I could care less if people do or do not like 3D Land or the 3DS, but as a scientist I really doubt that the explanation is as "simple" as "my b...
Imagine if a lot of other industries sold 4 million of an item (3DS) in an eight month period. They'd be shitting their pants out of joy. Yet, the game industry is failing? Now that's what I call not seeing the forest for the trees!
Sony should be pleased by the 3DS sales. Vita and 3DS target different demographics and if one can sell well it likely means that the other can as well.
Sony and Nintendo need each other to stay relevant and competing with each other will be much healthier for handheld gaming than try to stomp the other one into the dust.
I hope they both do well.
I think that the medium can still compete. But in order to do so the two main companies need each other more than ever. I really respect Sony for extending a few olive branches recently. However, if Sony wants to do as well with Nintendo for the Vita, they have to continue to try to find more markets and avoid the classic Sony goal of only marketing to 17 year old boys. It would be nice if Nintendo will also show support for Vita by praising the power and versatility of that machine. Bot...
