I just don't think it is a priority now for Blizzard. They are doing quite well with just PC's and releasing expansion packs. They aren't hurting for more customers.
MMO's and RTS's are the 2 genres that haven't translated well to the consoles yet. This year and into '09 there are attempts at bringing both. It will be interesting to see if the transition works.
BTW and this is way way off topic, but whatever happened to the trackball? Can they not add a sm...
Wait, no, who dies at the end of MGS4?... Blah blah, ya, ya, ya. I can't hear you (thumbs in my ears). Oh wait, I already played the game.
The key message I get out of Nintendo stmts like this is how they are always saying we are making games. We have teams on the hardcore games, etc. Sony/MS talk about internal/2nd party studios making games for their consoles, but they are openly embracing what 3rd parties are doing. Heck, MS had a few of them on their E3 stage to show off their games. Nintendo rarely brings up 3rd parties. They acknowledge them, sure, but they are always talking about what they are doing and not how the ...
A key factor is what you do outside of your courses. If you just show up to class and expect to get a job based on what you learned in the courses, you will be in for a rude awakening. If you take the courses as more of a setup/survey of what you can do and then go home and learn DirectX, OpenGL on your own, you will find that to be much more to your advantage. Likewise, with art same idea.
The developer wants to see your motivation and how quickly you adapt complex ideas i...
ah cool. Ok, I guess I won't quit my day job to make LBP levels then. :)
It's been an interesting few weeks for the soap opera that is Too Human. You have the reviews that have been generally average. You have the fans that are defending it tooth and nail (led by Kevin Pereira). You have the anti-Too Human contingency. Somewhere in there you have a very talkative President of SK.
I'll bet Too Human will be one of the most rented games to come out for some time.
That's true, although there was talk a while back about some people profiting off their levels. I wonder if the levels up for sale must pass an inspection before they are deemed available for sale. I suppose all of this will come out in the near future.
thanks
I'm curious about how they are dealing with copyright of existing images, music, etc out there? What if I put the golden arches on my level?
I love the series, just wish this was on the PSP so I can get more "snippets" of time with it in portable form. I'll still get it for the PS3, but it will take me alot of months to get through it.
Right, the point of a beta is to shake out more bugs, so having a beta right at release time gives you no time to fix the bugs.
Like an MMO though, they can patch this thing as often as they want while it is live. Just don't want a ton of bugs showing up early on.
It's strange that they really say very little about it and it is coming out within months. I know he is saying there isn't really much to report, but toss the press a bone now and then. If they are 100% it will arrive in '08, why not say that at E3 or GC?
I think the quote is a little deceptive. He is wondering why others are complaining about the price. He is saying it is worth the $15.00.
I took 3 kids to to see Clone Wars and after concessions spent $60.00, so I'm not complaining about a good solid 4-5 hours of fun for $15.00.
Other than some RTS's and some MMO's are there any games that are staying PC only? Spore, Witcher, Crysis all looked interesting for the PC, but all are on their way to consoles.
Wow, that was a waste of time.
I agree with most of this article except the pie in the sky, your kids should listen to whatever you say and respect your wishes. Come on, who here is an adult? Who went through their whole childhood and followed everything your parents said? You never skipped school, you never snuck out, never came home after curfew, never stole their car and drove across the border to a Tijuana whorehouse (oops, I may have said too much).
If my kid is over at a friends house who has laiss...
The problem with the music industry is that overall they play the role of victim instead of innovator. When songs moved away from CD's, they whined and complained, filed law suits and did whatever they could to try and stop it instead of taking the bull by the horns and making money by the transition. Now they are seeing something similar with music games where someone else is making money and they are crying foul. Figure out a new way to capitalize off of it instead of sitting around coll...
The bookstores will have a number of LBP for Idiot's type books.
Ah, ok. That's good information. Thanks!
I think both Spark Unlimited and Gamecock are badly in need of a successful title. After Turning point, Spark hasn't helped their reputation and this is the other major release they have in '08. Gamecock hasn't really left a mark yet on the industry other then acting ridiculous in public and the titles they have released haven't turned many heads or for that matter garnered very good reviews: Hail to the Chimp, Mushroom Men, Pirate Vs. Ninjas Dodgeball.
This game doesn't look...
