I think I saw her va-jj in that last shot.
Looks a quite a bit like DMC4 in the art style.
so this kid lost enough money trading them in and back again to own both consoles. At least his intelligent mother is teaching him good money management skills.
Does CliffyB invite controversy. If he's not changing his name, he's backtracking on comments or getting his name in headlines somewhere.
He's like the T.O. of the game industry only he can't catch the fade pass in the corner of the end zone... oh wait, T.O. drops those quite a bit. Ok, he is the T.O. of the game industry.
Name a product you can't buy used (let's stick to reusable products, condoms and toilet paper are out ;) ). Do you see those people complaining?
How are they not complaining about rentals then? Rentals allow even more people to enjoy one game without buying it then the used market does. A used game probably will have 2 or possibly 3 total owners in its lifetime while a rental can see 20+.
If Gamestop charges too much, then the door is open for an upstart to co...
Interesting that they have 01/06/09 as the date. I'm willing to bet that date could even be the European day/month/year format just to screw with us even more.
"When we launched the PSP it launched at a 28-year old, heavily male, New York subway [demographic]"
Ugh.. I am trying to trim down some.
It's hard to keep 3 skin flicks and my 24 hour streaming video of Lovely Lita going at once without a beefy processor and extra RAM :)
Is the Witcher supposed to come out on consoles? I've heard rumors here and there, but nothing concrete.
Great list btw. Cheers for all that effort.
I still think the Sackboy needs to be in a McD's Happy Meal. Hurry Sony, there's only 1 month left to get it done.
The ads are just admitting that Apple is getting to them. Apple is probably laughing that their highly successful ad campaign is causing MS to spend millions trying to counter it.
Let me preface by saying I haven't played the demo yet, so I can't judge this game.
It's sad so many games in '08 are not living up to potential. All these games looked so promising coming out of the shoot and talked about for so long but now are just not delivering. I hope this trend turns soon.
Some of these have fared better than others, but for the most part didn't live up to their potential:
SWTFU
NG II
Too Human
Infinite Undisc...
himdeel,
That's what focus groups should be for. Developers need to get feedback in an environment where they can monitor and see how people react to their gaming elements from people not associated with the game and then take that back and incorporate it, then rinse and repeat.
If you let just everyone at it there would be alot of noise to filter through.
2 games come to mind that would have done well to solicit focus groups: Too Human conside...
It seems when games are nearing release date we get almost daily blurbs and interviews with the person that represents the game to stir up the PR waters. Denis Dyack was quite a mouthpiece last month and where did he scurry off to? Itagaki was pretty loud early summer before he split and started drinking. Now Peter is revving up the engines.
He was doing well for himself when he was with Bullfrog in the late 80's through the 90's. The Populous games, Dungeon Keeper were two highly respected games.
I found this quote even more interesting:
Infamously, a guy called Mike Antonucci of the San Jose Mercury news interviewed me and was really pushing hard, and of course when you’re dealing with something as sensitive as defective hardware, you’ve got to be very careful what you say,
Has MS ever come out and said they have defective hardware? They have only really said the problems were higher than they like so they are offering the 3 year warranty. I don't think th...
The 2nd commercial had its moments, especially if you watched the full 5 minutes on YouTube.
Where have they been the last 3 years?
ToDo list:
pick up drycleaning
get some milk
sue Sony(got to stop putting this off)
write story about some helmeted guy and the Covenant - mail it to MS (post date it to 2003).
I'm not into repeating gameplay over and over and over. Some people are. I think it is just a matter of play style and interests. Now I'm not saying I should be be able to breeze through it eating popcorn. If a hard part comes up and it takes me 3 or 4 tries to figure out how to beat it, I'm fine with that. That was a challenge. If it takes me 30 tries to beat and I have to do everything nearly perfect, then I'm not having a good time for the hour I'm repeating it over and over. I will...
I think this beta campaign has been pretty ingenious. it has generated alot of buzz and really at very little expense.
I'm not sure why it is called a beta though. The product ships in 3 weeks, so what are they going to fix in that short term? A beta is done early enough so that feedback can be incorporated into it before going gold. This is a marketing campaign dressed up like a beta.
In any case, the XPlay feature last night on LBP was really well done. ...
